Went in as a new patient had appointment at 10:00 am . Other people that came after me were seen before me . Was there for 3 hours. Was seen by doctor . Before leaving they told me what was needed to be done and that they would call me for my appointment. I asked am I getting any meds before my next appointment and they said no because if we prescribe anything you won’t come back. I couldn’t believe that how unprofessional. I was in pain. Of course I’m not going back. Had to go to another dentist. Very unprofessional.

I went in as a new patient, I wanted to get my teeth cleaned. I filled in the new patient form and waited 2 hours to be called in. In the meantime, the lobby was packed with patients. I get in got X-rays done, they took me to another room where I waited another 15 mins to be seen by dentist. The dentist came in didn’t even introduce himself until I asked. The dentist said everything looks good you just need to do your cleaning. I asked the assistant will I get my teeth cleaned today? She said, it’s going to be awhile since we are real busy. I didn’t have the time. (Almost 3 hours later) She said I’ll have them call you to reschedule for your cleaning. I never got the call. I called to schedule my cleaning.
Today I went and they wanted to charge me $94 out of pocket for a deep cleaning of my teeth. I said with my insurance I get free cleaning The hygienist said that is what the doctor is recommending. She said she couldn’t give me a regular cleaning. I asked for my x-rays and they lost my business. I wasn’t happy the first time around, but I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. No thanks

I have been to dentists in Mission, McAllen, Mercedes and Mexico and I can say without a doubt that New Horizons Family Dentistry has been the best. The doctor and the staff are so nice! Even after I moved from the area they continued to help me and did so in a kind and respectful way! Thank you so much!

I was sent over to this Dentestry after my five hour medieval time torture in Brownsville. So I get there paid in cash since they don’t take insurance for a tooth extraction??? Then the doctor is not there he is late ? I waited for almost an hour and the only thing I was going to be given was a pill for sedation .. what ? I don’t think 🧐 so !!! I asked for my money back
And left I didn’t even get a call until 3 hours later to ask for a in person consultation and that never happened. Wouldn’t go there !!
We as patients suffer enough!!!!!!!

Dr Ochoa is great! Patient and kind. As for follow up appouappoint, you may wait a bit. Example: My appointment for a 6 month cleaning was scheduled at 1:30PM , wasn't called until 2:10PM. I was out by 2:45PM. For major work they are great and prompt, at least in my experience.

Dr At New Horizons and Uptown office are nice but their staff is very unorganized unprofessional rude and they know nothing about customer service. They blame shift on each other instead of trying to help patients. They lack communication skills to let patients know in time that the service the patient needs is not covered. They wait till the day of your appointment to say it’s not covered and stick you with the bill.

New Horizon dental really let me down. I choose this clinic based on their reviews. Apparently, I should have looked more into them. Their way of dealing with their patients is very unprofessional. It took about a week for them to come up with my treatment plan, when in most clinics it takes about a day. Second, I was the one that had to initiate all phone calls, not once did they ever call me back. Third, they proceeded to tell me that both my insurance plans covered work that needed to get done to my teeth. When in fact they were out of network and just wanted my money. Not a very good experience, my advice to most always get a second opinion.
