I wish I can give them no stars! The worst dentist! I haven't been to a dentist for a couple years due to being self employed with no dental insurance and having high anxiety with past dentist experiences.
When I get there the dental assistant [I wish I got her name] said I didn't need a cleaning. What kind of dentist doesn't do any cleaning for check ups especially since I haven't been to a dentist in years. Dr.Powell is a great person but he needs a new hygienist or assistant [not sure what she is]. After I decided not to go back I texted their text reminders telling them I was not going to make the next appointment, they charged me $50 for a no show because they said they didn't receive my text. They are the worst!!

The only thing that was decent was the staff were friendly and decent with me. Maybe a bit too talkative with me though. My first visit consisted of just going over what the plan was. No cleaning at all. There went my free annual cleaning visit just talking. Otherwise it was up-sale after up-sale. Once they heard I hadn't been to the dentist in a while I feel they took advantage of that opportunity. They decided to do a "deep cleaning"? Which consisted of me going in one day, them cleaning half my teeth, then going in another day, them cleaning the other half of my teeth. That really didn't make sense to me. Why not just do one longer visit and be done?? It's simple I think, more office visits equals more money for them. The dentist I'm seeing now said they shouldn't have needed to do a deep cleaning unless my gums had deep pockets and were receding. I didn't have any of that and my current dentist said my tissue looks amazing. It seems this office is more about making a buck off you then caring for your teeth.

I have been going to Dr. Powell for close to 10 years. Before that I had seen 4-5 other dentists across 5-6 years. The Jordan Landing Smiles team always do what they can to make going to the dentist as easy and fun as possible. I have never had an issue and they have always been fantastic. Highly recommend!!!

Dr. Powell is great. However his front billing staff is very much lacking in professionalism and customer service. I was a patient of his for the last 6-7 years but will never be going back. Avoid his office if you don’t want a horrible billing experience. It used to be good but since he changed his billing company or staff it has gone downhill. We have always paid our part and I am fine paying for services rendered even if the insurance opts to decline coverage. However to get a 1st bill in the mail from his office stating the insurance did not cover and then handwritten on the bill stating we are going to send you to collections if not paid within 2 days of getting the bill in the mail is not how you treat loyal patients who have always paid in full immediately when presented with a balance.
I would no longer recommend his office with the current billing policies and staff in place. I went in there to pay my balance in full and talked with his billing lady. She came off as if she just did not care. It wasn’t until I said cancel all my future appointments with this office that she made any effort to be understanding and try to not lose me as a patient.
We will be going to a new dentist and I suggest others look for a different dentist too with better customer service in the front office.

Office seemed poorly ran. There is a continual staff turnover. Never seen the same staff twice. I assume they're just out of school, and are training in their first job in dentistry, which explains the lack of experience and professionalism.
