Always a wonderful experience with Dr. Guthrie and her staff. From the moment you enter the beautifully decorated lobby and are greeted by the resident pups, to the comfortable and pleasant decor in the treatment rooms, the experience is top notch.

They made a special effort to accommodate my time. I was received promptly and courteously. Everyone was pleasant and concerned for my comfort. Preparation was quick and painless. The dentist was attentive and ready as soon as I was. The job of replacing two fillings was over before I knew it. I couldn’t even tell which tooth was being worked on during the process. I highly recommend this practice to anyone needing dental care. They care and show it every time.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! I can't tell you how pleased I am with Dr. Guthrie and the whole JRFD team! My child is very anxious about going to any doctor anymore, so I was bracing myself for a difficult visit, like all of the others. But our visit to JRFD couldn't have been more perfect. We were greeted at the door with a warm welcome and their sweet dog, Coco. My child relaxed immediately! All of the staff are so warm and welcoming, and completely understanding. Now my child is looking forward to going back!
I can't thank them enough!!

If you are looking for a family dentistry practice (and especially if you have young children!), I highly recommend JRFD. They are fantastic!

This is an excellent dentist office! Dr. Guthrie is awesome and so is her staff. This had been my dentist for several years and I have never had a bad experience. The office is very comfortable, the staff is welcoming and efficient, and Dr. Guthrie is always super sweet and has kept my teeth at their healthiest. I'd recommend this office to anyone looking for a great dentist!

Dr. Guthrie and her staff are great! The professionalism they exhibit and the care and concern they all show for their patients make dental visits pleasant . The beautiful office space and the dogs make the experience even better. So glad we chose JRFD!

Watch out! I had been to this place as my families dentist for a few years and they took advantage of myself and 3 of my siblings. I nor any of my siblings had never had a cavity in my life before visiting this place and were extremely vigilant about taking care of them. No dentist we had ever visited (including several orthodontist's) ever said our teeth cleaning was under preforming nor had they spotted any signs of cavities forming in any of us. Our last yearly dental checkup prior to coming here was uneventful and pleasant, and as soon as any one of us sits in the chair our entire mouth is filled with cavities, inexplicably. And not just one of us, all four of us were completely overcome with cavities and needed them filled. My parents, not knowing how to tell a group of doctors that they're wrong, just kind of went along with it, blaming us kids for not taking care of our teeth somehow, taking it out on us when the doctors told us how much they wanted for each procedure. And not only that, but these people are so lazy, that while they were preforming their scam cavity filling plan, that the one who was doing the operation took her break in the middle of it. Didn't say a word to me, just left the room for 30 minutes with all her equipment hanging out in my mouth. This place is a sham, run by amoral, heartless, manipulative 'doctors', who will gladly choke your child if it got them a little extra on their paycheck. Only reason I give this 5 stars is to, hopefully avoid having my review deleted by these evil evil people.

I am a relatively new patient of James River Family Dentistry and Dr. Guthrie. I'm very happy with Dr. Guthrie and her team. They are thorough, professional, friendly and the staff seems to genuinely enjoy their work and one another. Its a very nice environment.

Dr. Guthrie's recommendations and care have been spot on. I left my previous dentist because I had been dissatisfied with the results of work they had done. I have experienced the exact opposite with Dr. Guthrie. I highly recommend James River.

The quality of service at James River Family Dentistry is fantastic. Everyone there is very nice and knowledgeable.

All of the staff here are great! Very personable, kind, and they treat you like family. They also will kindly keep up with you through whatever medium needed to make sure you schedule your appointments to keep your smile and self healthy. Dr. Guthrie has a great bedside manner - not too aggressive in treatment, and she really pays attention to the needs and details of the patient. I highly recommend this practice!

Honestly the best dental experience I've ever had. I loved my dentist growing up and I never thought I would have a dentist quite that good again but the way Dr. Guthrie's team handle themselves and their patients is next level amazing. They keep me well informed about my dental health, they make sure that everything is comfortable and clean, and I have not once had a bad experience at JRFD. These folks make me feel like Chip Skylark with my shiny teeth.
