On 7/2/18, while I was visiting Alaska, I visited Alaska Dental Care for what I believed to be a cracked molar tooth. An x-ray confirmed the tooth was indeed broken at the gum line. The tooth was a previous root canal/crown. Dr. Parks removed the tooth which broke off from what little was holding it in, leaving the roots. He proceeded to remove one of the roots. This by far was the most painful tooth/root extraction I have ever experienced. He concluded his work sending me on my way with a prescription for the appropriate pain medication. However, instead of confirming all the roots were removed with a proper x-ray, he must have felt he was done. I'm not the dentist here but I was leaving my dental health in the hands of who I thought was. I returned home to different state, visiting my regular dentist. After I informed my dentist my mouth was still very tender and that I had taken pain medication for a 5 day period (now 7/16) he immediately took an x-ray, confirming an entire root, intact, protruding from the bone. This root was easily 3mm long. My dentist removed the root, my discomfort diminishing by the minute.
I contacted Alaska Dental Care, speaking with Angela. This was the first of several phone calls, one of her comments being that this "happens all the time". Really?? Maybe her comment was due to her experience at this office. She offered no resolution, in fact, she worked hard at distancing herself and Dr. Parks from any liability.
I would caution anybody viewing the "rave" feedback if looking for a capable dentist to keep looking.
On 8/10/18, I contacted this office again to inquire about my $10 co-pay over payment at time of service. Again, the office manager "Angela" confirmed there was a $10 credit to "my" account. However, up until 8/10, no contact was ever made from Alaska Dental Care personnel to me to refund this overage. Since I don't trust this office and the egregious ethical dealings I've had with them, I refused to give them my CC number. I stated she and her office could keep the $10, as they seem to need it more than I do.
Alaska Dental Care proved to be a very poor example to the profession of dentistry.

I took my mother to see Dr. Gardiner for routine dental care. She says this was her best dental experience. She was very pleased with Dr. Gardiner, the staff and her hygienist. I give them my highest recommendation.

I felt so welcomed here and my experience was great from the first appointment to getting my fillings done. Really amazing, kind people work here so make the appointment. I recommend this place to my family and friends all the time. Now I'm making sure to leave a comment so others go here too. 👍🏽 Thank you Dr. Parks.

Do not believe all of the paid for reviews. I had multiple fillings done here. The first warning sign was them barely turning on the nitrous. I’ve had nitrous before and know the relaxed feeling I should have had. I even asked them to turn it up, they lied and said they did but somehow it never made it to my nose. Maybe they’re trying to save it for personal use after hours.

I got the fillings but was left with tooth decay underneath them. Two weeks after this happened I went to another dentist to check their work (this is something I always do now and I’d recommend to everyone as dentists are crooks, they want you back ASAP and one way to accomplish this is to cause your teeth to fail) I also needed more work done. I was told by the new dentist there is a large cavity underneath the fillings I just got done 2 weeks prior, and they needed to be redone. Also, the fillings were too large, covering 2/3rds of the tooth, the dentist said that this will never hold for more then a few months. The cavities were not that large, I could see and feel them. Maybe they were deep but not wide.

It was recommended I see a medical malpractice attorney.

Don’t be fooled by the nice office. They need a lot of money to keep the place open. I believe their scam goes like this:

You get a filling-they leave decay
The filling fails and falls out
You now need another filling but the cavity is close to the root now as it was rotting from the inside.
You get the filling but have tooth pain and sensitivity.
Next is a root canal
This is 3 paydays on a single tooth
The forth payday is pulling the tooth
The fifth is either an implant or partial denture

I use to dread the dentist, but ever since I came here I don’t mind it! My hygienist is Sookie and she is amazing and makes my appointment fly by! She’s so personable and caring! I would recommend this dentist office for anyone who is looking for a friendly staff, and great experience. Plus you also get great Mountain View’s!

Very welcoming place. I went for some information, basically expecting a pamphlet. What I got was a consult literally 5 minutes after I randomly decided to walk in. Everyone was really great, everything was really clean. Can't wait to be a patient with Alaska Dental Care!
