SVT Health & Wellness:
SVT Health & Wellness is a community health center located at 880 East End Rd, Homer, Alaska. The center offers a range of services including dental, medical, acupuncture, massage, and naturopathic services. The center is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The center is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
The center has a team of experienced and professional practitioners who provide quality care to their patients. The practitioners take the time to listen to their patients and help them get to the root cause of their health issues. Patients appreciate the professionalism and care they receive at SVT Health & Wellness. The providers are amazing and the staff is friendly.
However, some patients have had negative experiences with the center. Some have complained about the behavior of some of the practitioners. One patient complained about being dismissed by a nurse practitioner who accused them of chasing pain meds. Another patient complained about a dentist who made inappropriate comments about Native health care. Patients have also complained about the lack of compassion shown by some of the practitioners. One patient complained about being denied treatment for a toothache and being forced to go to the emergency room.
In conclusion, SVT Health & Wellness is a community health center that provides quality care to its patients. The center has a team of experienced and professional practitioners who take the time to listen to their patients. However, some patients have had negative experiences with the center, and it is important to be aware of these issues before seeking treatment.

Very disappointed at how my husband was treated here back in July. He was seen by a nurse practitioner who completely dismissed him and accused him of chasing pain meds. He blew out his meniscus and ACL. He was told to take tylenol and noproxen and gave him a brace. After arguing with her she settled for a xray. Later, said nothing is wrong, come back if it still persist. Didn't go back, he ended up going to Dr Adcoxs office and got the care he needed. This would have been taken care of along time ago had the nurse practitioner actually took the time to address the issue and do the job she signed up for. Rather then be accusing and dissmisve. If your not willing to listen to clients perhaps you should look for a different line of work. maybe in the morgue, since you are cold hearted.

My dental visit began with Dr. Morton explaining to me that children are awful these days because no one hits their kids. (Because health care workers who advocate for assaulting children is normal?) He then launched into a diatribe about how terrible Native health care is. At which point I turned to the assistant to clarify that SVT is owned by Seldovia Village Tribe. The staff is great. Too bad the doctor is awful. I asked the office staff to please contact me when they hire a professional to replace him.

I highly recommend Christina Brubaker . She takes time with you, listens to you and helps get at the root cause of issues. She was instrumental in a diagnosis that no other dr. even explored . She is like a detective! Love her as well as the whole Anchor Point team. They work together so well. Thank youβ€οΈ

Doctor told me not to wear 2 masks at the same time literally 2 days before the CDC announced that people should be open to wearing 2 masks in caution of the new covid mutation. Also got told false information about my health status over the phone and when I went to the office to get a piece of paperwork signed to confirm it, they refused to. Make sure you always have a paper trail, people. Their patient portal is also riddled with glitches.

I was a tourist driving around in a RV from another state. I woke up one morning with a terrible tooth ache and the left side of my face was swollen. We were driving through Homer and my husband tried calling local Homer dentists so I could see one and get an antibiotic prescription written out. One was on vacation. And one was too busy to see me. We stopped at SVT hoping they would see me. It was one of the dentists numbers we had called. I went to the reception desk to show her my face. She absolutely would not let me see the dentist because he was busy. It would have taken only five minutes for the dentist to come out and see my face and write a prescription. I ended up having to go to the Homer Emergency Room for help. The bill is $626.00 just for a prescription to be written. This shows a definite lack of compassion. This could have ended up a real emergency with the swelling moving into my eye. Fortunately everything worked out. It would have so much easier and so much cheaper if this dentist had only given me five minutes of his time.

They have the friendliest staff, a comfortable waiting room, and reasonable prices (plus a sliding scale for those with low income). I always feel comfortable there.
