I hate dentists, who doesn’t hate dentists? I avoided dentists for years, ok the truth, I avoided all dentists for over a decade and a half. Eventually I forced myself to go in the mid-2000s and I survived. I have since moved out of Juneau and finally, I had to go to a new local dentist. Ok, it wasn’t so bad and I survived but I was just a policy number and an accounts receivable ledger line to the new dentist. What was the new dentist even doing to my tooth? I was never really sure.
Recently I had the occasion to return in Juneau and was able to work an appointment in with my previous dentist, Dr. Pinney. It was nice to return to the thoughtful notion of tooth health and preemptive care. Dr. Pinney was able to show me an electronic image of the potential problem and I decided that the tooth was indeed at risk.
That same trip Dr. Pinney was able to work me into his busy schedule and sure enough, the faint crack led deeper and we were able to get ahead of a larger, future problem. On this past visit, Dr. Pinney used a different procedure for numbing the area that didn’t produce the lagging soreness I had experienced on other dental visits. Thank you Dr. Pinney for making my new habit of routine dental visits more enjoyable!
