Although everyone is very nice, I don't recommend using this dentist (William Allen) unless you really have no other choice. I understand that the inflated instances of malpractice suits has made all health care providers over cautious to the point of affecting quality service. Thus I get that there are many procedures that must be followed for every single patient and they don't want to justify not following process for a specific patient for liability purposes. However, the sonic cleaner is sheer torture for me. I've tried the music and noise cancellation headphones but no go. The high-pitched frequency brings me to tears. When I've asked to have my teeth cleaned the "old fashioned way" I'm met with the excuses of "this is the best quality of care and we want to provide that for all our patients and it is much faster". Apparently "torture" is included as a justifiable aspect of "quality of care". When I said I understood and was willing to pay for another cleaning appointment (out of my own pocket) at a later date to make sure she would have enough time (it's only 20 minutes per cleaning) I was then given the rationale that the hygienists want to be able to perform their work for many years. Apparently, manual cleanings cause hygienists to be disabled and unable to perform their job functions well before retirement age. I certainly wish them no ill harm, but I could conclude that doing most of their cleanings with the sonic tool would enable them to do a few manual ones without significant long-term harm. At any rate, they did relent and cleaned my teeth manually. My hygienist was very nice and I was grateful for her compliance with my request. I was informed that I would probably not be so lucky to have the personal treatment next time. So, for those of you who also find the sonic tool torturous, steer clear of Discovery Smiles Dentistry - they'd rather torture you than run the risk of whatever physical impact manual cleanings cause them and ensure that they have provided you with the "best quality of care". Needless to say, I won't be going back even though I have been going for almost 3 years (the torture didn't start until last year).

Dr. Allen is an amazing dentist. He is always very caring and patient. I am extremely picky with my dentists and before Dr. Allen I saw 2 other dentists in town, not to mention the ones I have seen out of town. I would recommend him to everyone. He is friendly and kind. He also does a great job with any work needed. He has referred me to other offices as well for additional work and they were pretty great too. Finding a dentist worth trusting is not easy, but Dr. Allen has so far been my favorite dentist. The staff is just as wonderful as well. Best place in Tucson.

Dr. Allen is very thorough in his explanation of what he's going to do. He makes sure you are comfortable and gives you a break as needed. He's a great dentist. The entire office staff is always so welcoming and knows your name. I love my hygienist as well. Danielle is the best! I'm so happy I found this office. They really take care of my teeth.

The staff is awesome and so friendly Danielle and Katie are very gentle with their patients and they make sure you are comfortable and relaxed. Dr Williams is an awesome dentist he makes sure you are comfortable and relaxed and very funny 🙂🙂 I love this discovery smiles dentistry!

“Good shot”! I have trouble when it comes to having my teeth deadened. I told Dr. Allen this when he told me I needed some work done. He responded that he was a pretty good shot. When I had the work done I didn’t even feel the shots or any of the work done on my teeth. Dr. Allen isn’t a good shot, he’s a great shot! Thanks Doc.

I had not been to the dentist in quite awhile. Yet, everyone at the office were understanding and extremely helpful. I was a bit nervous but the dentist and the assistants made me feel super comfortable! This is a great place to go and get some dental work done!
