I have been seeing Dr Comfort for dental care for several years for my dental care and him and his team are great! The staff is extremely kind and helpful, the equipment is state of the art and Chris is knowledgeable, efficient and caring. Dental work is never fun but at least at Dr Comfort's practice they will work to make it as comfortable as possible and make you laugh while doing it. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a dentist.

The environment in this place is very unprofessional, the team did not seem knowledgable about dentistry in general, and I think they over price you on any service since they are the only dentist in mammoth. Staff tries to be overly friendly, but comes off creepy.... I took my wisdom tooth pain for weeks instead of getting them removed here.
Most people in Mammoth make the drive to Reno or LA for a reason.

I had to get a new implant done and I wasnβt sure where to go in Mammoth Lakes to see a dentist. I was a little worried about finding a dentist in such a small town. I am so glad I ended up going to Dr. Comfortβs office! All of the staff are so friendly and I really enjoyed coming in and getting to chat with all of them. Dr. Comfort is extremely knowledgeable! He and his team always made it a great and fast experience whenever I came in. I couldnβt be happier with how my implant looks :). I highly recommend going here!!

I experienced extreme tooth pain the night before starting the join Muir trail in Yosemite valley. Dr comfort and his team, including his wife, saw me the next day back in mammoth, which not only was a Sunday but also literally July 4th. They were friendly and explained everything and got me patched up. The following day after the procedure my fiancΓ©e and I left mammoth to go back to tuolomne and start our trip. An absolute lifesaver, couldnβt have asked for better in an emergency situation far from home (we are from NYC).

I first went to Dr. Comfort for a cleaning, which went wonderful. The wait was 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, but I can understand that things get backed up. The hygienist and other office personnel were super friendly and put me at ease. At the end of my appointment I was notified by Dr. Comfort that I had 2 tiny cavities and one small cavity. Not bad for 5 years not being to a dentist.
I made my appointment to have the 3 cavities filled and asked if it was possible to just have the larger 2s cavity filled for $204 and have only one of the smaller 1s $165 filled for now to save money.
They suggested Halicon RX pre appointment for the surgery, as a cheaper alternative to nitrous. I took the Halicon over three hours ago now and I haven't felt any affects, I'm not sleepy or relaxed.
Today I went in for my appointment and they still had me down for getting all 3 cavities filled. I had to explain to three different people including the dentist that I just wanted 2 filled today the larger one and which ever smaller cavity the dentist thought need the attention most right now.
I even tried to joke my way into a buy 2 get 1 free promo, which promptly fell flat. Okay so that uncomfortable thing they put in your mouth during the procedure, the other reviewer on yelp talked about, is true. Never had one placed in my mouth before, but I could deal with it.
After having the two cavities done which only took maybe 10 minutes total once the work began, I come to find out the dentist chose to do only the two small cavities...Not the larger one I requested. The whole point of me coming in was to get the larger multi-surface cavity taken care of. So I ask if I can just get the third one done now then, since it was my main concern. The hygienist said no problem since you are here and still all numbed up let's do it, let me grab the doctor.
I proceed to wait for a number of minutes with the uncomfortable mouth piece still in. After 10-15minutes the nice hygienist apologizes for the wait and removes the mouth piece for the remainder of my wait.
Doctor comes in and I ask if he can do the larger cavity that I came in for in the first place, and he tells me that legally he can't because I'm on Halicon which is a "sedative". I'm not sure what that has to do with doing the work I originally requested and signed. I never signed anything giving them permission to just do the 2 tiny ones. He tells me we can reschedule for the bigger one next week.
That doesn't work for my schedule or my budget, so I let him know that, and he just laughs it off. When could I be back, November at the soonest. I only work in the area seasonally during the snow season.
I break down a bit to the hygienist and ask why he couldn't just do the work I had requested in the first place. She nicely apologized, and I just walked out of the office. They did attempt to call my husband and myself, my husband requested to speak to the Doctor, but he didn't talk with my husband. I was too upset to deal with them. But they have no explanation other than Dr. Comfort didn't hear or understand what I wanted done. I felt I was more than clear. I never would have signed or agreed to have just the 2 tiny cavities done. They also promised photos of my cavities to show they really existed, which I never saw or received, but that might be partially due to my premature casual stroll out the door, and my walk home.
No way I will go back to this place, I can only hope my long review of my experience will warn others away. I hoping that Dr. Comfort will reach out to my husband and explain himself. For now I'm out $330 for something I never wanted done.

I had the worst dentist experience of my life here. The front desk personnel were rude from the moment I walked in. The dentist told me I needed a root canal and quoted me around $2000. I went and got a second opinion and was told that a root canal wouldn't have fixed the problem with my tooth. They refused to send my records to my new dentist, even when I requested them multiple times, including by email with a signed form attached. I specifically asked them to email my records to my new dentist and instead they said they mailed them, without asking me for the address, and my dentist never received them. That meant that I had to pay out of pocket to redo the x-rays that I had already had done. THEN, as if that wasn't enough, they continue to send me bills when the cleaning and x-rays I had done there were entirely covered by my insurance. It's been months since I made the mistake of visiting this dentist and I am STILL trying to get them to do their job properly and submit the claim so that the insurance will pay it. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Update: Dr. Comfort has sent me a letter demanding that I remove this review. The initial dentist I requested records be sent to never received them and now when I request my records be sent to another dentist, they are refusing and stating that I've written them a negative review. Instead of trying to make things right, they continue to make everything as difficult as possible to try to force me to remove this review. Stay away!

A family friend referred Dr. Comfort and he instantly became my favorite dentist. Him and his staff are very nice and because no one likes going to the dentist, you'd love to know he's very fast. I didn't have insurance at the time but he gave me a great cash price.

One of the best dentists and humans I know. This earth is lucky to have people like Chris. He performed a cosmetic enhancement over 35 years ago in 1987 and my veneers still look great. One of the most conscientious, ethical, superb, ACCREDITED (board certified) dentists and a truly remarkable and caring person.

Root canal went very smooth and procedure was not very painful. Pre-op video was good to prepare me for what was going to happen, especially that the process could take two visits. Good temporary cap and precautionary instructions allowed me to still make a three day backpacking trip between visits with minimal discomfort and the final cap installation went well. Overall, pleased as can be considering I typically don't care for going to the dentist. Staff was very pleasant and friendly!

Beware of this facility. While heβs a very nice man I donβt know where his dental education came from π€·π»ββοΈ I could have been just fine with an implant of one tooth, but he decided a whole bridge would be better.. all while bickering with his dental assistant... it was so tense o should have known. Now I have 3 fake teeth that have never felt right or un-painful since being placed. They refuse to reimburse for the work so I can get it done correctly, so I will be filing with the Dental Board.
