Normally I wouldn't rate the experience of my five year old receiving general anesthesia and a bunch of dental work a 5 star review, yet, Dr. Nickravesh and the staff were exceptional. My daughter felt very comfortable with them and everything went better than I expected. Thank you so much, Dr. Nickravesh and Dr. Dang for being so attentive and caring.

I thought she was a wonderful dentist but I was very very wrong. I cannot believe that her and the anesthesia woman Cheryl Dang are even allowed to practice on children. Ms. Dang killed a 3 year old child in July of 2016 and has been ousted by the bay area community. Now she works side by side with Dr. Nickravesh. Dr. Nickravesh is a nice person and very friendly but if your kid needs more than an average cleaning DO NOT CHOOSE HER. My son had an abscessed on his gums needed a root canal. She totally botched the job and the tooth ended up needing to be removed and he was never given meds for the infection. We had to take him to a REAL doctor who was surprised that the dentist would not prescribe anything and shocked about the incident.

Excellent, well organized effectively run office where both the Dentist and the staff really care and enjoy their work. They go the extra mile to accomodate their clients and work patients in for emergencies the same day or the next. Paricularly good at making kids feel comfortable and overcoming their fears. Make the extra effort to check insurance coverages and be prepared for your childs appointment. They really work hard to make do the best job they can for thier patients. Highly recommend.

Sheva and her staff were great! Super friendly and professional they made me and our children feel comfortable known and cared for. The kids got to choose their show on netflix while they had their teeth cleaned so they even thought it was fun! Highly recommend!

First, we LOVED the dental staff and the dentist. I was so pleased with her, that even though she's out of network for us, I wanted to continue taking my son there. Now, three months after our first visit, I will NEVER go back to this dental office. In short, we were new to Redding and my son knocked his front tooth out of place, and our primary dentist recommended her. After two visits to her office, the lack of knowledge from the front "office staff" started to show. For the two visits we had over a two week period, we made two substantial "co-payments" as per their policy, under the impression that it was going to be refunded once the insurance company paid the two claims. Three months later, and our insurance company has correlated several suspicions that the office staff does not understand how to submit claims properly. On a conference call to attempt figuring out why a claim submitted over two months ago hasn't been paid out by insurance, the office staff was not able to answer questions about date of service or date of claim submission, and what was mentioned did not correlate with anything submitted to our insurance company. Once the dates were not lining up with what our insurance agent was reflecting back to the office, the girl told us she was sorry but could not provide further information and we'd have to wait until the "office manager" was available the following week. The insurance company maintains and has shown to us, sufficient evidence that the claims were submitted improperly and thus there was no action to pay them, as they were submitted as simply "inquiries" from the dental office, not as actual claims. The time I've had to waste on following up with the dental office and requesting statements from the insurance company, and just falling short of explaining to staff what they should do to get paid by the insurance company, will ensure that we never return to this dental practice. It's a shame, because we loved the dental staff. The incompetence of front office staff is holding this practice back from being one of the best. Either training or more knowledgable staff need to be implemented. My son's name was spelled incorrectly on all forms by office staff, his birthdate, as well as other key pieces of information, were copied incorrectly from forms I filled out in clear legible print and verbally dictated when asked after turning forms in.

Update: had our 2nd visit attempt with the office. They are friendly but I do not recommend them if you need any special services outside of the general check ups. They are not good at listening to your child's needs.

Initial visit: The overall office is great, friendly and knowledgeable. The staff was very detailed on both services that needed to be done and what the insurance impact would be. We will be back for our cleanings and check ups. However my son had to get some work done with the oral sedation and it didn't go as well as I hoped it would. I didn't feel as though they were truly making him as comfortable as they could because they expected him to not remember anything. Even if they think he will not remember doesn't mean they shouldn't try and make him as comfortable as possible. They kept insisting to me that he was numb, sedated and unresponsive but he was responsive and inquisitive to me. When I talked with him he explained how he was feeling and asked me questions along with responding to my questions so he was not as sedated as they thought. Also, he was fully capable of drinking water out of a cup. I know from personal experience that when my mouth is numb only on one side I have a hard time taking a drink of water. He was suppose to be numb on both sides for work to be done and was still able to drink water fine. That gave me the impression that he was not really sedated or numbed the way they insisted he was. When I pointed it out they did give him more numbing for the 2nd half of the work. When we attempted the work his mouth was building up with saliva and it felt to me as if he was choking and needed it sucked out. I asked the nurse to suck it out and she only argued with me that he was fine. He was crying uncontrollably and I asked them to remove it to try and help him be a little more comfortable and they still argued with me that he is going to uncomfortable. I understand they do this all the time and they are the professionals but I am the mom and know my child better than they do. I don't think any doctor or nurse should ever argue with a mom about how there child is because no doctor knows a child better then mom does. If they want the work to go smoothly they need to make sure they are listening to the patient and/or patients parent to ensure that the service is the best experience it can be.

My daughter had a cleaning appt yesterday, she was there for twice as long as she should have been, slow service. My main concern is the lack of knowledge/skill at this offc. The hygienist was trying to grind off her cement put on her teeth from her orthodontic wrk. When my daughter told them to stop, it was painful also, the person tried telling her it was plaque. So a 13 yr old knows better than employees? That is scary. I also have been told sealants were covered under our plan & then recvd a bill afterwards. Also the amount of text messages recvd prior to appt is very annoying. I will not be taking my daughter back to this offc!!

Excellent care for my kids. How many dentists can get an 18 month old to get x-rays on the first visit? I have been impressed with the level of professionalism we get every time we go.

They were great! Sheva was able to check and clean my autisic son's teeth, which I didn't think he would allow anyone to do. Thank u for a wonderful experience and friendly service. The staff were all super friendly and helpful.

Horrible Dr. To work for and to go use! You'll notice she has a huge turnover with staff! All you will hear is screaming from her clients. You're better off going to Gus Charles Petras. His work is amazing!
