Let me first start with the dental hygienists, they are great (5) stars. They are very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The receptionist are also excellent. The reasoning for the 3 stars is the dentist. My wife had a root canal and crown. The crown never fit correctly, and caused a lot of pain. The dentist then referred us to another dentist which gave her little help. We recently started with a new dentist, and they found that the crown was fitted incorrectly, and it will need to be replaced.

I stayed with my previous dentist for 28 years and was not too comfortable with the idea of making a change, but my wife insisted that I give Dr. Poitras and his team a try. She promised I would not be disappointed...not to mention the fact that his office is 25 miles closer. Well, my wife was right (as always)! After having visited his office several times now, I am thoroughly convinced that I made the right move and have found a new home (for my teeth, anyway). The staff is great, the doctor is top-notch and they really seem to have their stuff together. I also appreciate the fact that they use the latest in equipment and technology. When I first went to Dr. Poitras, I had a deep dislike for dentists. My past experiences were very poor. Dr. Poitras has completely changed my view of the dental experience. First the staff is amazing; I have never seen a happier bunch of people. Second, Dr. Poitras has been very honest with me and with his diagnosis. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
One more thing worth noting; for all those people out there that are afraid of the needle, Dr. Poitras is so good with the needle you barely feel it. He should teach this to all those dentists out there that have no idea how to insert a needle painlessly.

I have been going to Dr. Poitras for 15 years and have always found excellent care, He is detailed, shows concern for his patients, and runs a practice which is normally on time. He is conservative in his treatment approach, and takes the time to see each patient, even if you are just in for a cleaning. His staff is professional and have been with him for years so the practice runs like a fine clock
Hakam Al-Samarrai DMD has taken over the practice and exhibits an on time practice I have been in for a few cleanings with Heather and this last visit was for a filling and crown. I was brought back directly to the exam room and felt comfortable the assistant was new but did have 13 years of experience. She was a bit unfamiliar with some of the equipment but had a good personality for the job. As this was the first work being done on me by the doctor I will admit to a certain amount of concern but that went away immediately Dr Hakam Al-Samarrai has a gentle touch and took his time to make sure I was fine. The crown is being made using a scan of my mouth vs an impression so this was a great update in standard of care. I’m looking forward to coming back
