Dentist visit
I am giving this dentist and his office staff one star but would give it zero stars if that were an option. First, Dr. Krikorian had no bed side manner. He blew in, did his inspection of my teeth, and left. I had to pull him aside after his “consultation” to simply ask if I had any cavities, or other dental issues. His response was terse, and he seemed exasperated that I was even bothering him.
For my wife, Dr.Krikorian came in said hello and started checking her gum line, repeating numbers to the assistant. My wife had to ask what all of that meant. He answered and then left. When he came back, he worked on a computer behind her, she assumed he was filling in her documents, so she stayed quiet. When he finished, he left and never came back, she didn’t know what he had been working on; it could have been for someone else. She didn’t even know if he looked at her x-rays. He never did a consultation with her about her teeth. She left not knowing if she had cavities, or if she should be doing anything differently.
Billing Issues
At the end of my wife and my checkup appointments, the dental assistant said I had to pay $174 for our two visits. I reminded her that two checkups per year are free as part of our dental insurance program. She was relentless, so I paid the $174, assuming I would get it back when the claim was processed, and it would clearly show we didn’t owe anything.
Two months later my claim was processed, and I didn’t owe anything. I called Dr. Krikorian’s office for my refund and was told that this bill was for adding some type of protective cream to our teeth while they were cleaned and that this treatment wasn’t covered by insurance. I asked why the dental hygienist hadn’t given us the option before the cleaning started, as this is a normal and ethical practice? The office manager didn’t reply, but also said that my wife’s visit had not been billed yet (even though we saw the same dentist on the same day), so I should wait until that occurred to settle the bill.
Two weeks later my wife’s claim was submitted, and it was for another dentist in the practice and because the other dentist wasn’t a member of our insurance network, we now owed $900!
I called the dental office immediately and the assistant said that the billing dept. had submitted another dentist, not bothering to check if this other dentist was in our network. She said that “it is a simple mistake” and they would resolve it such that we didn’t owe anything.
I then asked about my refund and she said that the office could give me a credit for future work, but I couldn’t get my money back. After several calls to the higher ups in the office I was finally sent a refund form to fill out. I did so and they continue to refuse to give me back my refund, now saying that it violates my health insurance company’s policy to issue a refund.
To verify this information, I contacted my health insurance company and spoke with a representative. On my behalf while I was on hold, she called the dentist’s office and spoke with the office assistant. The insurance rep later came back on the line and told me that the office assistant repeatedly changed her story as to why I couldn’t get reimbursed. The insurance rep also was told the account code for this protective cream that was supposedly not covered by insurance, and the rep explained to the office assistant that this cream is covered by my insurance; the approved amount being approximately $19 and thus I should not have been charged $87 per person in the first place. However, the office assistant was unrelenting and refused to reimburse the money, only offering a credit for future work.
At this point I am livid with the constant misinformation and lack of professional care from this office. Based on my experience, I suggest anyone thinking of using this office seriously reconsider that decision.

Everyone kept telling me how horrible wisdom teeth extraction would be, which was not my experience at all with Dr. Krikorian. I had all four teeth removed at once, two were partially impacted. Dr. Krikorian took about 20 minutes total during the process, it seemed like he literally just plucked the teeth out - no hammering, incisions or drilling like others told me to expect. Very quick and afterward I had barely any swelling. There was some pain once the anesthesia wore off but just slight soreness. Overall, this was the best surgical experience I could have hoped for. Very experienced doctor, wonderful recovery. I was eating solids by the second day!

Went to Doctor Krikorian for a second opinion on pain in my tooth and getting my wisdom teeth removed. He offered me a free consult, and unlike other doctors who are just looking to rush you in and out and sell you something, he sat with me and spent more time than my primary dentist.
He is very knowledgeable and cares about his patients. Even though he wont be doing the surgery for me, he took the time out of his day to give me advise and helped me find another oral surgeon who could help.
For anyone looking for a caring, experienced, knowledgeable dentist, Dr. Krikorian is the one to go to. The staff was also extremely helpful and patient with me.

My daughter had a bad tooth ache, the whole side of her face hurt.I looked on line and this office was listed as being good with wisdom tooth the same day. I read the great reviews and thought no way. Well everything I read was true. The staff is friendly, helpful, and Dr. Krikorian got my daughter out of pain the same day. Thank you guys. 👍🏽😘👌🏽 All my family will be coming here.

Dr. Krikorian is fantastic. I went to him for a second opinion and avoided unnecessary surgery. Truly an honest dentist. Furthermore, there was no pain during the procedure OR AFTER. Even after the novocaine wore off. His staff is professional and friendly.

I was in so much pain for about 2 days. I started calling all over Broward County for someone yo remove my wisdom tooth ASAP. Everyone wanted tondo a consultation first, then schedule an appointment. Finally I called Dr . Krikorian and had me sitting in his chair the morning. He took care of my pain, and my tooth. I am truly greatfull to you and your staff

Dr. Krikorian's office is fun, professional, and reliable. My wife and I have been using Dr. Krikorian's service for a year now and every visit is quick and comfortable. Although I have always been very scared of the dentist visits, He works quickly and professionally.

I think they have different offices as well.

*****UPDATE*****

I will be filing a complaint with the BBB (Better business Bureau) on the practice since fraud is their best practice.

I was having some pain with my Wisdom tooth and googled and found this practice. I called to make an appointment and the person on the line was pleasant, but not very knowledgeable. I made an appointment and went in. to my surprise they were able to extract all of the 3 remaining wisdom teeth that afternoon. when I was provided the bill, I was not aware of the mystery costs hat go along with it. I was told with my insurance that it was $1050 total. I was in so much pain I went forward, but asked for the billing codes. The office manager blurted out the codes to me and told me to sign for them to start the procedure. The extraction was simple, and quick, but it didn't sit well with me, the costs. I called the office and the office manager was super rude to me. She claimed I insulted her because she gave me an option, when that was not true. She stated I could have chosen to go to another dentist if I was unhappy with the price. I explained to the office manager that I understand how it works. She stated the extra cost was for "gelfoam" which is used for bleeding and help with healing. I explained that no "gelfoam" was placed in my mouth. She proceeded to tell me the "notes" stated that it was so that's it. I told her I understand what the notes state, but I also know what is in my mouth and there is no foam. She got snotty and rude and said she will have the doctor call me back. Seems to me that this office manager gets mighty rude when people call her out, like the previous post from Victoria. Seems like she is a bit money hungry if you ask me. ill just wait and see if the doctor actually calls. I rated them 1 because of her poor telephone etiquette and rude and disrespectful attitude.

P.S. I requested my signed documents and treatment plan be sent to my via email and I received a few pages that looked as though they were edited and put together. or scanned to look like they ran in sequence.

***UPDATE***
The Doctor did not call back. I spoke to my insurance company who recommended I file an appeal. I called the Dr. office again this morning, but the Dr. was not in yet.

***UPDATE*** I was contacted by the Marketing manager who reviewed the procedure and billing codes used. She stated the Office manager made a mistake and they would refund the mistake. I inquired about the codes used and what it was for. I was advised however that the owner would like to know if I planned on altering my google review because reputation was on the line prior to them processing my refund. I said the owner can call me, but my review being adjusted should not be the deciding factor on whether or not I get my refund of money that should not have been charged anyway.

I contacted my insurance company and explained the procedure to them and they said the incorrect code was used. the code use was one that is not covered allowing the practice whatever they chose. I was charged $1050 for the extraction of 3 teeth with dental insurance. Based on my explanation of benefits, I should have been charged between $30 for my erupted teeth (2) and $85 for an Impacted tooth (1). The codes used included the cost they charged me for, or at least what they claimed they charged me for, bone removal.

**************I WILL SAY, HOWEVER, THAT DR. KRIKORIAN IS AN AMAZING DENTIST AND HE MAKES GOING TO THE DENTIST NOT THAT BAD. THE EXTRACTION WAS QUICK AND THE RECOVERY WAS EASY. HE IS FRIENDLY AND KNOWS HIS STUFF. BUT, I DO FEEL BAD THAT THE STAFF HE HAS IS PRACTICING SOME SHADY STUFF AND GIVES THE PRACTICE A BAD NAME***********

*****UPDATE******
I still have received my medical records as requested from the manager. it has been 2 weeks since I requested it. I have also attempted to contact the manager from my cell phone and was my phone number was blocked. I was able to call from a friend's line however with an issue.

I had my wisdom tooth extracted and I was so nervous but he was so fast. Also they were making me laugh like it was nothing. The doctor is really good I didn't feel a thing and I thought I would be in pain for days but I was fine.
