Hawaii Dental Clinic - Downtown Honolulu

I had a awesome experience, I mean I was nervous about my visit but I felt at ease knowing that the lady infront of the customer service welcome me and others has we enter the clinic. I came in because my wisdom tooth was hurting and need to be removed. Doctor Anna Truong took really good care of me especially when she noticed I was nervous & scared. Thank you very much, I would totally recommend this Clinic to anybody. Thank you very much again Dr. Anna Truong you are the best.

I have the experience on more than one time to have Services provided by Dr. Jonathan Cross. I have had much experience with dentist all over the world and Dr. Cross is by far the most professional ethical and highly skilled dentist that I have had the pleasure, if that seems possible, with dental work. I highly highly recommend if you are looking for new dental office to select this office and if his time allows of course request Dr. Jonathan Cross.

Dr. Escobar, is a very unfriendly dentist with disregard for her patients well-being. And no personality to humor her patients. She does not make her patients feel welcome with an ALOHA smile or greeting. I was there for a severe dental treatment and I had a few questions to ask her about my procedure before we got started, and she wasn't even knowledgeable about answering them. Boy, Doesn't she know anything about dentistry? I even had to ask her to take my temperature before we got started to follow Covid-19 guildlines and to sanitize the dental chair. Wow!!! This goes without saying. This dental office location is unsafe with the uncleanliness from sitting in the waiting room before my appointment and while in the treatment room. Once the treatment was completed, Dr. Escobar showed no compassion or sincerity. I will NEVER patronage this Hawaii Dental Clinic ever again because of this incompetent, Dr. Escobar!

This Office Was Very Easy To Find And Make An Appointment.!!! Love The Dental Services, And Courteous Receptionist's. I Signed Up For The Hawai'I Smiles Membership- Great Discounts.!!! Parking Is Available On The Street, Easy To Find And A Short Time In The Wait Room. The Specialist Are Terrific As Well !!! I Certainly Recommend Taking Your Family Too..💖

The dentist I had (dr. Johnson) seemed super pushy and I was really uncomfortable with having any more work done with him. I might be the outlier, but I definitely didn’t have a good experience with him. He didn’t even bother to show me my x-rays, which I would’ve liked to have seen. Only star is because the receptionists were so kind

I definitely recommend Hawaii Dental Clinic for the pleasant and caring attitude shown us during the entire appointment process. It started from scheduling my son's appointment, and the time taken to explain the options we had available. I especially appreciated the reminders by text, up to an hour before appointment. Thank you Hawaii Dental Clinic for the personal service we received.

Dr Leon Johnson is a superb dentist. He does not only fillings and extractions, but also performs crowns and other difficult dental tasks. He quietly explains what he is doing, and patiently answers any questions. He recently rescued one of my teeth from certain death by engineering a lovely crown. I am delighted and very satisfied with his great skill and the efforts he is making to maintain and preserve all my teeth. With Aloha from Jack Scholze

My tooth has been hurting for a while. The gums and cheek was inflamed! They were able to extract the tooth!! I’m so grateful for that!! I’ve been in pain for awhile, and I’m glad that they were able to help me!! They were very helpful and caring!!

TLDR: Stay away from this office and check your insurance mail for the amount they supposed to charge you vs the amount they charged you at the office!

Additional update, the Director of Business Operations left a negative and unfound claim review at the company I worked for on google review. Saying that "One of their staff members employs an unusual and unethical method of new business development." when all I really did was calling to follow up on the status my refund that they overcharged. Just unbelievable on how they do business

Update 12/21/18. As usual, no one get back to be despite the fact that they said they will. So I call the office again and was told to email Director of Business Operations. I did. An hour later, he told me to take it up with HMSA and file formal complaint. He also CC their legal team which make zero sense. I called HMSA and they told me this has nothing to do with them. It's between me and the clinic. This is hopeless and waste of time.

I have been their patient for many years. Recently the quality has been going downhill. They over charged me for the filling and cleaning. I contacted them. Got the run around for 2 weeks with promise that they will contact back. I got a few emails back but nothing useful. Until I called them to follow up. Then wait for another 30 days as they said are waiting for billing from insurance and will contact me back. 30 days passed and no contact. I had to call again. The amount they owed me were wrong at first, then the staff recalculate it. From $62 went up to $133. that's double the amount they actually owed me. They said to 7-10 business days for the refund check. 2 weeks passed. NOTHING! called again and they said they will need to ask their boss and he will call me back. We will see if they will ever call me back.

Great! I got there 15 minutes b 4 appt & was glad because that to fill out paperwork. Met Dr. Crow (first time w/him). Everything went smoothly. Found him to be very professional and informative. Went over procedure & answered my questions/concerns b 4 starting.
