Gave 2 stars because the wisdom teeth removal procedure itself went well. The rest of the experience was *grueling*. I was quoted $57 at the consultation for wisdom teeth removal. I have dual dental insurance. My appointment was a month later, I got a call from the office less than a week later that they had to post pone my appointment due to not being ready. Okay, I can deal with that. Day of surgery, over a MONTH after initial consultation, I was told I needed to pay over $700 and that they probably will refund me some money. Would of really appreciated them notifying me of a $650 price change PRIOR to my appointment. Fast-forward almost two months. I finally get a refund check. It's not for the amount I expected so I check my dental claims. The office submitted the same claim at least 3 times and got denied. Called the office and was told "I've been doing this for 7 years!" Okay? Well then why didn't you get it right the first time? Really unprofessional front office. If I had know what I'd be getting myself into I honestly would have looked elsewhere. Office is clean and other support staff was great though.

I recommend Dr. David Russell and his crew to anyone . From start to finish they are friendly, reliable, showed quality service, very caring, supportive, helpful and can't forget care about their patients well being. Overall best customer service experience! Very satisfied. Will definitely be coming back for my next implant. Hopefully after that it will be last, but if I do need another, you know i will back again. Thank and keep up the great work. Definitely a 5 stars experience and more.

After putting off having much needed work done for several years, partly due to concerns over costs and partly due to simply being very self conscious about my situation, I finally took my first steps to get the work done. Today was my first visit to their office and from the moment I walked in the door, the staff as well as Dr Russell made me feel welcomed and they were very professional and efficient. They also eased my concerns about cost, not just because they're reasonable cost wise but also because they helped me figure out costs of future work I need done based on my insurance. Great group of people here!

I’m visiting Kauai and needed to have a molar extracted. Everyone in the office is super kind and Dr Russell got it done efficiently and without pain. He explained my options clearly, advised me on further treatment (implant vs bridge) when I get home, and set me at ease with the procedure. Not what I had in mind for my vacation, but I’m grateful to Dr Russell and staff for fitting me in and providing excellent care.

I have always had a wonderful experience at Emerald Isle for my oral surgery needs. Super friendly and professional staff & Dr.Russell is awesome! They always make me feel comfortable even tho I am a nervous nelly. They never make me feel embarrassed about dental issues. I am so grateful for Emerald Isle! I am about to get my 3rd implant. So far the first 2 have worked out perfectly.

Super clean, beautiful facility. Dr. Russell is quite personable! I appreciate that he explained enough for me to understand what was happening to put me at ease. Great team. Resolved an issue that caused considerable discomfort; I am so grateful and relieved. I would recommend.

Dr. Russell is amazing! He’s friendly, explains things well and makes you feel comfortable to ask questions. He helped my kids and they actually like to go to see him. That says a lot because they don’t normally like doctors/dentists appointments. 😊

This was my first visit to see Dr. Russell to have an extraction of a broken tooth. Yes I was somewhat concerned. However the lovely office & staff & Dr. Russell’s expertise & light- hearted manner had me fixed in no time!!! Big Mahalo to the Doc & Cat & Victor who were all lovely, assuring, & compassionate. A 5 star experience, at least!

Straight to the point. Unclear procedure pre op(wisdoms tooth extraction). Bed side manners absent. Day of operation staff was not reassuring of the clarity of what’s expected. After numerous agents at telling the doctor that the procedure was uncomfortable for her. No attempts was made to comfort my girlfriend. After the procedure we( my girlfriend, who was profusely crying, and I) had a post op meeting in our car with the doctors nurse. He handed me a baggie of gauze and a follow up apt slip that wasn’t filled out. Post op instructions was to change gauze ever half hour for four hours. More Tylenol pain meds was called in to eleele longs( which was not ready to be picked up) because of their poor faxing. After 5 days of recovery my girlfriend felt discomfort in her bottom teeth. Went back because 6 failed attempts to call was not answered. And after sitting with the doc he said why weren’t we back to take out packing that needed to be taken out by him and stitches that needed to be removed. And why she wasn’t irrigating her pockets with the syringe provided. We were not provided a syringe. Then proceeded to take out the packing and stitches without numbing. Overall a horrible experience. Plus tried to sell me the doctors wife’s do Terra and yoga classes. Get a grip.

As a repeat patient of Dr. Russell for at least 14 years, I have enjoyed every visit, and received excellent treatment, exactly as promised, despite initially severe gingivitis. I can recommend Emerald Island OFS wholeheartedly.
