Went in waited over 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. The dental tech was very rough on my mouth when doing x-rays. I even call it a cleaning. They didn't scrape the plaque along my gums at all. I have always had that done. She just told me to floss more. I used my once every six months dental appointment to have teaath polished. I won't be back.

Worst dentist experience I’ve ever had! I was told I had 3 cavities, I stayed for 3 hours while the dentist filled all 3. The dentist walked me out & told receptionist I was good for 6 months. Now I’m being told I actually need 2 more fillings. I have cuts in my mouth & tongue from the dentist & my fillings must not have been filed down enough because now they don’t feel right when I bite down/eat. Dentist won’t even be back till January! I will NEVER return or recommend this place. ZERO STARS

They're decent people, but I've had every appointment rescheduled, I've needed a root canal done for 2 months now and have had that rescheduled twice now, because the dentist apparently leaves state rather often. Plus waiting time is ridiculous, if your appointment is at 10am, don't expect to be called back until 11-11:30. If it weren't for insurance purposes, I would have switched providers already🙄

I booked an appointment probably 3 months ago for my son's consultation for braces, took the day off from work and drove 45 minutes from our house to the SW 9th location in Des Moines today just to arrive to this sign on their door! I called the number listed on the sign and was told that they attempted to call me to cancel my appointment and they left me a message but they absolutely did not because I do not have any messages or call history from them at all! AND, now they are telling me that they suddenly no longer accept our insurance, yet on several signs on their building it says they accept Medicaid. False advertising!? Absolutely ridiculous!!

Just four days before an appointment we waited months for, A1 called and said they were no longer taking my child's insurance. I had to ask the caller to repeat themselves four times because they seemed to be talking through a kazoo. This was an incredible waste of my time.

Slowest dental office ever. Both times I’ve been here it’s an extremely long wait. What’s the point of making appts to not be seen until 2 hrs later than that? Definitely do not recommend

After going an embarrassingly long time between dental visits, I was scared to schedule a cleaning, but the dental hygienist and dentist I saw at A+ Iowa Dental made me feel so comfortable. They were very gentle and not at all judgmental with me. I had a great experience and am actually looking forward to coming back for my follow-up treatments because I feel I can trust the team here and that they will take good care of me.

There was a little bit of a wait for my appointment, but I didn't mind. The receptionist kept me updated and let me know that they had a staff member out for the day. They have also staggered their appointment times and have done a great job at reducing capacity for Covid-19 precautions. Everyone was properly dressed in their PPE and the space was kept very clean. I felt safe.

This is a great dental office.

These guys are both incompetent and unprofessional. Did I mention uncaring? I had a follow up appointment scheduled for weeks with them for 12/23 at 10:30 am. Pretty important as it was a necessary requirement for my upcoming total hip replacement. They immediately told me they didn't have any reservations today and I must be mistaken. She finally looked it up and said "oh, you did have a reservation but our doctor still isn't here". I asked if they ever checked their future reservations and she said not when the doctor was not going to be there anyway. Seems like an ideal time to check to me. Anyway, at no point did either secretary apologize or offer any alternatives. Seriously, not even 1 "I am sorry"?! Take your business elsewhere if you have the opportunity. I'm guessing this guys license must have come from a box of lucky charms anyway.

Waited an hour and 15 min for them to polish my teeth and not clean them. My daughter had an appt as well and they did nothing for her besides tell me to use gauze to get plaque buildup off her teeth.

6 months for fillings. Made an appointment to have my fillings checked and possibly redone. 1st appointment was fine but every appointment after was increasingly worse than the last. They leave you voicemails, from an unrelated #, the day before to confirm you know you have an appointment then aren't punctual themselves. You're "forced" to sit in front of a giant television blaring advertisements or soap operas so loud you can't hear anything else. My wait time grew each time, and when I was finally in the chair I was ignored by the assistants until Dr. Mafa said something to them as she was seeing if I had been prep'd; making the process of SIMPLE FILLINGS take even longer. My appointments were 75% waiting, unattended, and took nearly a hour despite only having my teeth worked on for around 10 minutes each time.
IDK if it's common practice to work on 1/4th of a persons teeth each appointment, I don't remember that as a child, but my 1st appointment was in October, my 3rd in December (5 minutes of work and we could have been done entirely but I was passed over the instant a child sat in a chair) and my 4th was supposed to be in February but magically the Dr. wasn't there when I showed up (after not responding to their pointless confirmation voicemail) they attempted to reschedule again to March but I refused and left the incompetent facility. I suspected a place with a name like this was going to be terrible and should have just entered the patient queue at Broadlawns.
You are treated as though you are irresponsible and unreliable. They should be treated the same way.
