ZERO STARS if I could
Very disappointed in Tippin Dental Group today. My son had a tooth extraction done last Tuesday and was instructed to take Tylenol and Advil every 4 hours alternating. He did for 2 days, but he ended up having so much pain he called the office back. They did give him a prescription for stronger pain medication after stating "he had a pretty tough extraction, and the dentist wondered if he would need something stronger." Yesterday, his extraction site started bleeding again, so he put gauze there until it stopped.
However, when he woke up again this morning, he started bleeding again, and when he took out the gauze, his clot came with it. He called and left 3 messages on the ER line between 8 am & 10 am and NEVER received a callback. I, his mother, ended up calling and left a message on the ER line stating that he was on his way to the hospital ER because he was in so much pain and to cancel all of his future appointments with them. Within 5 minutes after I left my message, he was called by a Tippin staff member. He was then told he would have to pay a fee before the dentist would evaluate him. He told the staff member that he was already checking in at the hospital ER and to cancel his future appointments. Then the staff member called me and informed me that she had contacted my son, but he said he just wanted to be seen at the ER. She never told me he would have to pay a fee for a dentist to see him at their office. She did confirm that all of his future appointments would be canceled.
So, why did I, his mother, have to call before he was taken seriously? He is 24 and was doing the right thing by calling for himself. I used to think Tippin Dental was a great dental group. I don't know what has changed in the last few years, but we are definitely finding a new dentist that might care when their patient is in pain.
