Hampshire Family Dental LLC: Providing Dental Care with Mixed Reviews
Hampshire Family Dental LLC is a dental clinic located in Northampton, Massachusetts. The clinic offers dental services such as cleanings, fillings, extractions, and root canals. The clinic is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and it is closed on weekends.
The clinic has received mixed reviews from its customers. Some customers have praised the clinic for its competent dentists and friendly staff. One customer mentioned that the hygienist was the nicest and most skilled professional they had ever experienced. Another customer appreciated the clinic's effort to create a welcoming atmosphere by allowing staff members to choose music from Pandora.
However, other customers have had negative experiences with the clinic. Some customers have complained about long wait times and disorganized staff. One customer mentioned waiting for 45 minutes to be put in a room and then waiting for an hour to see the dentist. Another customer complained about the clinic's insistence on taking a full set of x-rays every six months for every patient, which they deemed excessive.
Some customers have also criticized the clinic's dentists for their rushed procedures and lack of attention to detail. One customer had a routine filling done, but a week later, the pain was still so great that they could not eat on that side of their mouth. The dentist rushed the procedure, stopped in the middle to see another patient, and the assistant left to go home halfway through. Another customer shared a story of their mother having to go into an oral surgeon to have an expensive procedure done to remove bone fragments from her gums after a tooth extraction procedure at the clinic.
Overall, Hampshire Family Dental LLC has received mixed reviews from its customers. While some have praised the clinic for its competent dentists and friendly staff, others have criticized the clinic for its disorganized staff, excessive x-rays, and rushed procedures.

I have given this dentist practice more chances than i can count. They have gone through several changeovers which means there are different dentist every time I go. The last dentist (Doctor Cox) was awesome. She was thorough, so kind and knew exactly what she was doing. Unfortunately they lost her. Doctor Cox told me at my last appointment she was fed up and leaving this practice. Well today at my appointment i waited 45 min. to be put in a room. An hour later i was still waiting to see the dentist. The assistants were of no help and left me in the room alone. I was so frustrated and full of anxiety, I left. Im going to look for another dentist now. I do not recommend this dental practice. They need to get organized and more. oh by the way theres only one dentist on site. One dentist for all their patients.

I had a routine filling done here. A week later, the pain was still so great that I could not eat on that side of my mouth. The dentist said he'd need to drill out the filling and "try again." He rushed the procedure, stopped in the middle to see another patient(??), and his assistant left to go home halfway through(?!) That was done a week ago; the pain is now constant and much worse than before he "fixed" it. I'll be looking for another dentist to correct this.
UPDATE: Turns out the dentist had drilled straight through into my root. Oops.
On the plus side, everyone was very nice, particularly the front desk staff. Unfortunately that doesn't count for much without competent care.

This office was riddled with bureaucracies that they insist they are legally permitted to do. The first red flag for us was that they insisted they MUST take a full set of x-rays every six months for every patient, children and adults. This is ridiculous. Nobody with any semblance of quality dental hygiene and basically sound teeth should subject themselves to this amount of x-ray radiation.
Then, when I asked them to give me my records (these x-rays they charge your insurance for) because I do not want to be "cared for" by their practice any longer, they insisted that I pay them $35 for the records, to transfer them. Bullocks. I've never had to pay a cent for records to be transferred in all my 40+ years.

Great Hygienist! Good Dentists. I left my old dentist because the hygienist was very unpleasant. The hygienist that I drew in the establishment is the nicest, most skilled professional that I have ever experienced. Furthermore, the dentists are quite competent and the staff is friendly.

I received a few cavities here..same day. Super sweet person, but really screwed my teeth up after filling some cavities. I returned several times to get my bite adjusted and they couldn't even figure that out. The last time I went I saw an older male dentist and he grinded my teeth so hard and told me to just deal with the pain until he was finished.
I feel bad saying that because most everyone there is nice.. But I have no confidence in the technical skill.

I share this story in hopes that it will deter others from going to this dentistry. Reading the reviews I can see that this story isn't a unique one.
My mom went to this dentist's office a few months ago to address a couple cavities in her teeth. I went with her because during her previous visit the dentist yelled at her when she anxiously sat up during the exam and she was nervous that she would be treated poorly again. The dentist decided that he wanted to pull out her two teeth because if the cavities were too deep then he might have to do a root canal. And my mom's insurance wouldn't cover a root canal so I guess pulling out her precious teeth was the only option. At the appointment, the doctor was rude to me and wouldn't let me stay in the room with my mom (she was very nervous) during the extractions. During the procedure, the dentist didn't speak to my mom at all and promptly left the room when he had finished. When we asked about coming in for a follow-up appointment the assistant dismissed our concerns and said we did not need to bother coming back in.
Recently, my mom noticed a bone sticking out through her gums in the same area where her tooth was pulled. Turns out her bone was splintered and cracked during the extraction. She had to go into an oral surgeon and have an expensive procedure done to remove the bone fragments from her gums.
I am disappointed with the care and treatment that this dentist gave my mother. This dentist is horrible. If you're looking for a dentist I would advise you to look elsewhere.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. They make you sign forms consenting for extra things you don't need/want and refuse to let the dentist see you until you do. Not even letting you discuss you teatment options/alternative. they insisted they MUST take a full set of x-rays every six months for every patient, children and adults! Nobody with any semblance of quality dental hygiene and basically sound teeth should subject themselves to this amount of x-ray radiation.
Then, when you ask them to give your records (these x-rays they charge your insurance for) because you no longer want to be "cared for" by their practice, they insist that you pay them $35 for the records, to transfer them.

I have been there three times now and I am very pleased. The staff has been very polite and caring. Instead of blaring some obnoxious commercial radio, they let staff members take turns choosing music from Pandora. This act, of letting staff have a say in the atmosphere, signaled to me that they care about people over profits.
If you have a distrust of foreigners, this would not be a good choice. But if you appreciate diversity, as I do, I would highly recommend this practice.

Had bad tooth pain back in 2012, was given anti-biotics for the abscess, and had 5 teeth extracted, quick and painless.
I've since been having similar pain, going back to get it taken care of.
