Portnoy and Tu, DDS, PC Family Dentistry

Dr.Tu is by far the best dentist I have ever visited. Her standard of care is exceptional. Molly is absolutely amazing and she goes above and beyond to ensure my comfort at every visit. Even her front desk is great, they have it together when it comes to insurance and phone rapport. I trust Dr.Tu and I refuse to see anyone else. I highly recommend making an appointment at her office if you haven’t already. Thank you Dr.Tu!!

The receptionist was friendly at the beginning, but after I missed the appointment (my fault) her attitude dramatically changed. As a receptionist, her job should be HELPING patients see the doctor instead of "PUNISHING" patients indifferently by only offering a day two month later WITHOUT offering putting my name on the CANCELLATION list. She was very cold and indifferent on the phone and she indicated I messed up the appointment and an appointment two months later is the consequence. This is not acceptable and not professional at all. I would not recommend this office because of the rude staff!

This is an update. The office manager called me back about my review on Google. I was happy to call her back and tell her what happened. But to my surprise, she did not mean to solve the problem, but told me I did not understand their policy and that their doctors are busy. Of course I know it is not abnormal to get the next available app 1-2 months later, but my point was the receptionist's attitude. I told her that I, as a patient, who was waiting for 2 months to see the doctor but missed the appointment, was desperate and helpless when the cold receptionist did not even offer the cancellation list. As a patient who have seen doctors for many years, I do not need the manager's education about their office policy and how busy doctors are, but the genuine willingness to know about what happened on the patients side and willingness to help, and the possible solution. I am very disappointed by the receptionist and the way the manager protected her staff. A big No No to this office. This is my true story.

Just had my new patient visit and cleaning. The staff here is the best! Catherine was my hygienist, and is the best hygienist I've ever had.

The thoroughness was incredible, and they really do take the time to explain & teach. They also clearly explain my treatment plan & costs. Very professional.

To be very honest, here dental cleaning is a good place to go, and also they have a nice group of assistants.
But I don't suggest for anything else important treatment here except cleaning, if you have to then try to ask to be referred to professionals, you never know how much pain you will suffer from a not good quality of treatment, and also maybe pay an extra repair payment that suppose to be free, I would think that their charge system need to be supervised.
I am sorry that I just try to give a very reasonable comment here and also would like to give myself a lesson how to choose a qualified family dr.

The care that I received was fantastic. Post care, I was set up for a payment plan stating how much in total I would pay for the care I received. I was told if there were any changes to this plan I would receive a phone call. I had called to make the last payment early and was told that I owe $669 more than what I was originally told. I never received a phone call stating I had owed more than I expected and the office had a hard time finding how this was missed, had to call me back after looking into it, and blamed it on the computer system.

We have been going to Dr. Tu and Dr. Portonoy for last seven years. They both have been amazing for my two daughters now 9 and 6 and myself. From cleanings with great hygienist to treatment with both doctors. The staff here is amazing and do a wonderful job with kids. They always demonstrate what they are going to do first. This was my daughters first time without sedation just laughing gas. She was a little nervous since it has been a long time since she has had a treatment. All the staff calmed her nerves and she made it through the treatment. If your looking for a dentist office that treats you like family call Dr. Portonoy and Dr. Tu 's office.

As a new patient Dr Portnoy took ample time to check and explain any issues that I had. The staff is very friendly and very professional. They make you feel very comfortable, which makes going to the dentist any easy task. The facility is wonderful.

I cannot say enough or thank Drs. Portnoy & Tu (and staff) enough for the dental and hygiene services rendered to me over the years. Professionalism, genuine compassion, outstanding dentistry, cutting edge technology, a dedication to their skills as dentists, and staff dedication are only a few outstanding qualities I experience at each visit. Anytime I have a concern or need treatment, all I have to do is call the office, and dentistry on my behalf happens. I am able to smile today because of the treatment that I have received, and I have an upper and lower partial that fits wonderfully. Dr. Tu is one of the most compassionate dentists I have ever met! She has a very big heart & genuinely cares about the work she does. Her staff is so kind & they are always smiling! I recommend going to Portnoy & Tu if you want a great dental experience. I was terrified for my first root canal but everyone helped me stay calm & ensured that it would be ok! During the procedure I was reassured & they made sure I was comfortable! I give them 5 out of 5 stars because they go above & beyond expectations of great care!

I am a very high strung anxious person and going to the dentist is very nerve wracking for me. I cannot put into words how calming and nice the staff are at Portnoy & Tu. I had Molly and Dr. Tu help fix my front tooth and not only does it look perfect, i felt no pain, and i had 0 to no anxiety the entire visit. They explain things patiently and you can tell that they actually care that they are doing a good job on your face. I was embarrassed that I haven't been to a dentist in awhile and they were also very kind in that regard. 10/10 would dentist here again.
