After moving away from my hometown when I was 19 years old, I didn't keep up with a dentist for many years due to my dental anxiety. I was weary of going to another dentist again, especially being further out than I've ever been, but I couldn't deal with the pain in my teeth anymore and decided to go here. I felt like I was home. Everyone was professional and pleasant. I first saw Dr. Ryan who was gentle and went at a slow pace to ease my nerves. He did a great job as none of my teeth that had cavities hurt anymore and haven't since! I even got to talk to him and his assistant about me wanting to become a dental assistant. We had some good laughs and the appointment took no time at all. Months later, I was working as a dental assistant at Aspen Dental in Hutchinson while going to school. A temporary dentist there had messed up a filling I had done and claimed to see nothing wrong with it when I asked her to check it out. Since the pain was increasing everyday (although it seemed like it was every hour), I decided to get a 2nd opinion at Litchfield Family Dental. Dr. Ryan was able to see me sooner than I expected. He did the same tests (but wasn't as rough as the temporary dentist at Aspen was) and told me he felt like I had a high pulp (nerve of the tooth) as well as an improperly bonded filling which means that saliva and other things could slip under the filling, causing pain and potentially a future infection. He said that he could fix it, but recommended I have the dentist that did this fix it. This shows that they don't care about putting another dollar in their pocket. They are about the care of the patient. It really felt like family. I wasn't able to get my tooth fixed with Aspen so I called back to make an appointment ASAP. Dr. Ryan wasn't available, but Dr. Abby was. She checked out the tooth before redoing the filling and said that because the pulp is high, I could need a root canal later on if this doesn't resolve the issue. She was very gentle and professional. It's rare that I like ONE dentist, but I thoroughly enjoyed BOTH at this office!

I have been coming here my entire life and have always had amazing care from Dr. Haugo and Dr Swenson, as well as the rest of the staff who know me as soon as I walk in. They really went above and beyond when my girlfriend recently needed an emergency procedure and Dr Swenson and staff were able to help us out at a moment's notice even though she had never been to a dentist in this area. They showed me how much they really care for their patients here and I don't know how I could ever go anywhere else after an experience like that!

Was great the first time, last two times they were very short and impersonal like we were an inconvenience. Was told we might have to reschedule our appointments we took time off for because they were running behind so we were expected to adjust. The older one gets snippy if he asks the hygienist questions about your tooth history and she doesn't know and you answer or ask simple questions like "I have to talk this over before I make any big repairs." Dental work is too costly to be made to feel like we're a waste of time.
