I have been a patient of Dr Umphlett’s for over a year now. My dental anxiety’s were over the top and I’ll just say that my consultations with other dentists had left me feeling more anxious than before I went and without many options.
First impressions are everything.
When I got to Capital Dental I was greeted by a very kind staff who actually seemed happy to see me. Then I was called back to the exam room by Tori, Dr Umphlett’s assistant and INSTANTLY felt like I was amongst friends.
When Dr Umphlett came in, his professional yet gentle manner allowed me to feel as if I could express my deepest concerns about my dental health and not be taken lightly. They were both genuinely concerned.
To date I have received treatment and care in addressing a plan of action that involved both my thoughts and feelings and the expertise of a well respected Dentist. A rare combination these days.
I have often been asked how I found out about Dr Umphlett at Capital Dental so I must add that since I am not from the Jackson area I finally thought to contact the office of my dentist from years ago In my hometown and spoke with Dr. Thames who, without hesitation, recommended Dr. Umphlett.

The office staff are friendly, professional and prompt. I've never had a problem with knowing what my insurance benefits are or what my responsibilities are, as the dental insurance is a contract between me and them, not them and my dentist. Dr. Grubbs has been my dentist for many years. I can always depend on him and his dental hygienist to make my visits anxiety-free, painless and provide excellent treatment. I won't use anyone else!
