I made an appointment with Dr. Shirley because I had a hole in my tooth and l was having some pain with hot and cold food and drink. I went in, had an X-ray and was told that my only option was to pull the tooth out. I have had braces, and other work done to my teeth, and this is a tooth you can clearly see when I smile or talk so I was pretty upset. They discussed the price of a flipper with me to hold the space open until I could get something more permenant, ( an implant or bridge.) I opted not to have to tooth pulled at that time, and went to get a second opinion at a different dental group in Springfield, who was able to successfully fix my tooth with a root canal and crown. They did not understand why I had been told that it couldn’t be fixed, and was not offered this option as treatment.
The price for my root canal was about 1300
The price for the extraction, flipper, bridge or implant would have been about $3200 or more, and the loss of my natural tooth. I will not be back.
When in doubt, get a second opinion.
I have read the argument that was written on the other negative review, just in case there is any question I am 100% sure this is the correct office. They called me yesterday to find out if I would be coming back to be fitted for the flipper, and I have the paper estimate showing the prices I was given. I also have the bill of the dentist that was able to fix my tooth successfully.
