On November 18, 2021Dr. Goodman put a crown on me of my molars. He said the x-ray showed I did not need a root canal. A temporary crown was put on at that visit. With the temporary I still experienced a substantial level of pain, but thought perhaps that would subside when I got the permanent crown. On December 7 I had the permanent crown put on I told both the assistant and Dr. Goodman that I was still having pain with the temporary crown, unable to chew without pain. Neither had much of a reply and my remarks were ignored. Again, I thought the permanent crown would probably eliminate the pain, but no, still had pain and could not chew on that tooth. I waited until after the holidays to schedule an appointment. The assistant took X-rays and listened to my pain issues. Then Dr. Goodman came in, tapped on the tooth, looked at the X-rays, then advised I need a root canal, and referred me to another dentist for that. He spent maybe five minutes with me. Upon checking out, I was charged $70 .. $20 for the x-ray and $50 for the visit. I advised the associate who checked me out I thought the charge for this was not warranted since I had told him I had pain prior to the installation of the permanent crown, but was ignored. If he had listened then, the issue would have been addressed at that time and not required this additional visit, plus a charge of $70! I asked that he would be made aware of my complaint. Of course, no further communication from Dr. Goodman or his staff was received. Definitely this type of generating additional fees from patients is unfair, and borders on deceptive. In addition on a prior visit he did a filling between my front teeth, and immediately after it caught terribly when flossing. I returned, the assistant addressed the situation, and finally Dr. Goodman came in and looked at it, declaring it fine. It still catches when flossing. All aspects of my experience with Dr. Goodman have been very poor. I will not return for any additional services.
