What a welcoming, friendly, completely professional place Smiles is. Dr. Olson put me at ease immediately and she didn't quit until my crown replacement felt right to me. Utterly painless process for me, too. And honestly, who laughs in a dentist office? Well I did here. All of the staff from the moment you walk into the office are friendly AND fun. The hygenist, Carrie, has a relaxing presence while working on my teeth and gave me a thorough understanding of what was happening to my gums and what to do at home. I love this office! I leave smiling every time. 5 stars!!!

An embarrassment to the dental community.
Absolutely the worst dental experience I've ever had. Dr. Olson is the first dentist that I can honestly say did more harm than good, the front office is disorganized, their cleanliness is subpar and their interoffice communication is completely unprofessional.

Not very happy. I guess the regular dentist can't pull your tooth unless it is totally healthy to begin with. Otherwise she is just there to refer you to an Oral Surgeon who does the real work and brings in the bucks for the practice. The dentist and staff were very nice but it doesn't help when they can't do anything to help you other than take your money for the exam and then try to set you up for further appointments.

I am always on time and even early, but I always always have to wait. I don't think i have ever been seen at my actual appointment time. It's really frustrating. Now I am waiting, and last week I had an appointment and I came on time and they were closed. I called and someone answered to say the dentist couldn't make it and that they called me and left a voicemail. I did not receive any call or voicemail. Why would I drive there if I knew the dentist was not there. The dental services are good though.

Been going here for a few years now, and everyone here has always been friendly, professional, and efficient. They also seem to have some up-to-date technology, from a layman's perspective. Definitely recommended!

So long story short, like so many Americans I have white-coat syndrome, and a fear of needles. Additionally, I was very nervous as I hadn't had dental insurance since I was a teenager, so I needed a ton of work done. In a nutshell, every experience has been better than expected.

Front office personal have been great at being honest and upfront with me regarding finances, and working with me to get the work I needed done as fast as finances allow.

Doctor Calder did a great job with extractions, both for wisdom and non-wisdom teeth, and I had absolutely no socket or tooth pain afterwards. Very minor muscle soreness/jaw pain after the 3rd or 4th day and a little bruising, as if I had a rough day at sports practice or something.

Finally, Dr. Olson has been spectacular. She has managed to save a tooth with a filling that was on it's way to a root canal, repaired some work that was done by prior dentists, and done it all while making me feel both emotionally and physically comfortable. She has demonstrated both considerable skill and knowledge, and I don't believe I've felt as confident about another dental or medical professional before.

Yes, some of their preferred procedures may diverge from what your insurance wants- but I have never gotten the impression that anything was being suggested because it makes the office more money. It always was explained to me as health/success motivated, along with the reasoning on each alternative. Your teeth, your choice in the end. The office has been very supportive of my decisions, and informative whenever I had questions or concerns.

My recommendation is ask questions, and research when you get home, so you can better understand the procedure, or why something is being suggested, especially if you are nervous as you may think of something later that you didn't while you are sweating it out in a new environment. If you proceed with an open mind and honesty about your health and financial situation, I believe you will have just as great of an experience as I have had at Reno Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics.

I have been coming to this office for several years now and will continue coming here for all my dental care. Dr. Olson is great and listens to any concerns or questions you have. The care and kindness they show is genuine. I highly recommend this dental office.
