I have been a long time patient of Dr Lerner and have gotten so comfortable and attached to him over the years. That he has retired makes me very sad but I have to say that I really like this Dr Cody Holt. I appreciate his warm and genuine manner and that he’s listening. Like Dr Lerner, he’s not telling me that I need to have dental work done that I don’t need to have done. I love it too that the office staff has stayed despite Dr Lerner’s retirement - Shelly is still there and Verla, all the same front desk people. This is a change but it really is ok.

I will miss Dr. Lerner but I had my first appointment with Dr. Holt and it was a nice experience. He has a very kind and genuine manner. His exam was thorough and I appreciated the time he took to explain any issues in a way I can understand. Like most people, going to the dentist isn't on the top of my list of fun things to do, but if I have to go, I'm glad I'm going to see Dr. Holt!

Wow! Dr. Holt and Dr. Holt are both fantastic! Not only are they skilled in dentistry, they are also committed to their patients and their community. They are honest and I feel comfortable trusting their advice and overall patient care.

From the friendly front desk, to the gentle cleaning, to the informative exam; everyone made sure I was comfortable with each step. He explains any teeth issues thoroughly and clearly and does not push unnecessary or unneeded dental work. He works quickly when doing dental work such as fillings as to minimize the discomfort. I discovered Dr. Lerner one year ago after dentist hopping for the past 18 years living in Anchorage. I wish I had found him and his practice sooner! Firstly, the office is clean, tidy and professional. Secondly, the front desk individual is the lovely Leigh - super professional, kind and efficient; exactly what you want a new or returning client to interface with to make a positive impression for the practice. Thirdly, his work staff are also super friendly, kind, efficient and professional. I have not met everyone, but Verla is terrific, and my forever (I hope) Hygienist Shelly is par excellence. I doubt I’ll ever find a better Hygienist in my life! She successfully found a perfect balance for my taste between providing professional, quality and efficient care while still making it a personable and inviting experience. I did not find myself gripping the chair as I usually do. Upon scheduling I did ask if I could have nitrous oxide to make the experience even more relaxing; and she provided that without question or making me feel like a child for the request. I do not believe nitrous is covered by insurance - so only request it if you are willing to pay cash for it, which I will do gladly every time. Nota bene: You do have to ask for nitrous in advance when scheduling so they can be prepared to provide it. Fourthly, Dr. Lerner himself has all the qualities I noted for Shelly in regards to finding a comfortable balance between being professional yet personable. He is a very intelligent, calm and patient doctor with skilled yet gentle hands. Last fall on our first visit he took digital photos to show me cracks in my lower back molars, and recommended I get those fixed when able to prevent progression to full-on broken teeth; but also said that the ball is in my court for scheduling that since I have no symptoms. Dr. Lerner and his office do a wonderful job. Appointments are on time, phones/messages get answered promptly and everyone communicates clearly & respectfully. I feel that Dr. Lerner is a straight-shooter and will tell you what you truly need to prioritize now. No fancy upsell or paying for the atmosphere. I would and do recommend this practice.
