I just moved to Fairbanks and established care with Dr. Neibaur. I thought I was ok to use my dental insurance that was set to expire at the end of the month that my (and my husband’s) appointment was scheduled for. Frustratingly, I have received a $500 bill (less what my insurance did reimburse me for). When speaking with Dr. Neibaur’s office, it was explained to me that they made note of how much my insurance covered for services, but that they don’t look into how the insurance company applies that coverage to the services they provide. I made it very clear to his office that I was looking to use my insurance before it expired and that if I couldn’t use it, that I would wait until my new insurance kicked in. I’m very disappointed how this turned out as I feel I was misled to believe I (and my husband) was covered for a simple cleaning visit. According to his receptionist, Dr. Neibaur feels they handled the insurance inquiry properly and so the only thing they will do is allow me to make payments. I’m giving two stars because the visit was good and I liked Dr. Neibaur, but beware of running into this issue with them if you are new to this area and are using out of state insurance. I recommend doing the legwork yourself or waiting until your new insurance kicks in.

The staff is amazing. They’re always friendly, Sara always has my insurance information worked out so I know how much I have left in my plan. Kate has cleaned my teeth a few times now and is great! I HATE flossing, but I’m never made to feel small about it. Instead they give me other options to keep my pearly whites in tip top condition. Dr Neibaur always remembers me and my family and genuinely takes an interest in getting updates. My whole family comes here and we love it!

The whole staff is friendly and patient. I had x-rays and a cleaning done. I wasn't stabbed like with most dental hygienists! They also paused when they asked me a question so I could actually answer. I would recommend this place to anyone, excluding for kids 2 and under.

Great dental service, however, service on behalf of reception was lacking. Thank you for being so fair and generous Dr. Neibert, and awesome teeth cleaning from your staff member. Getting billed so late multiple times, even 4 months after, would be hard on anyone and was something I was not use to experiencing.I was having financial difficulty, health issues, and was pretty pregnant at the time so some frustration was definitely being vented. I wished I could have received more sympathy and politeness when talking with staff over the phone and in person, ie. interruptions and being rushed off the phone, it would have made my experience a thousand times better. I apologize for any inconveniece this caused.

Whole family goes to Dr. Niebaur's office for years now. Always great service. No need to dread your dentist appointment here! Very professional dental work in every aspect, with a staff especially trained to work with kids and skiddish adults. Administratively, you know your cost upfront, they take care of all billing and schedule you to get the most out of your dental insurance. Highly recommend!
