I am sad to write this because I have been going to this office for ages, ever since I was in college. However, I have been going through a very difficult experience ever since I underwent a gum cleaning procedure in September of 2022. It is now March 2023 and my claim is still unresolved and no one answers my phone calls. I paid for two cleanings after the procedure in advance and have only received one. I have contacted the office multiple times but no one answers my phone calls or text messages. I contacted my insurance company and they stated that Floss sent incomplete information to them. Since Floss is out of network they cannot do anything, my only recourse would be to report them to the state dental insurance commission or to seek legal action. I cannot believe that this is happening. Now I'm questioning whether the procedure was even necessary given this suspicious behavior.
There are a lot of positive reviews on here, but fyi they were promising (at least to me) free dental whitening for a good review. I have never received the dental whitening.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! And BEWARE: they try to hide bad reviews with multiple excellent reviews RIGHT AWAY! I don’t have time rn to write a full review on my experience, but one small example is they insisted I need X-ray; then claimed my tooth 3 and 4 needs crown, it will $3760 and insurance won’t pay anything. I got suspicious, visited 3 different dentists, 2 of them were shocked who the heck said that because these tooth are freaking solid!!! I did filling with the 3rd dentist, told nothing to him about dr. Mehdizadeh so to make sure they’re unbiased. It only cost me $49 in total. Yes, $49!! Do you now understand why they didn’t want to report it to insurance? This business is a scam. Dr. Mehdizadeh, I’m so sorry for myself for thinking that I can trust you just because we’re from same country. And I’m even more sorry for you… you could use your expertise in the right way to make this world a better place and make people smile bigger but instead you just decided to make your own pocket bigger… and Jennifer? Don’t even get me started on that.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kiyan in the past due to moving away from the area. I’ve had always loved his work, and what a perfectionist he is towards everyone! Dr. Kiyan is super friendly, compassionate and professional. His staff follows an extremely close second. The dentist is not my favorite thing to do but I know I’m in great hands with Dr. Kiyan and his staff. The office in La Jolla is immaculate and state of the art. The music adds a nice feel. The close up imaging of your teeth on an Apple computer puts an entirely different opinion about your teeth. A smile is worth a million dollars. Thank the lord it didn’t cost that! I am glad I have moved closer to Floss and have a beautiful smile now thanks to Dr. Kiyan and his wonderful staff. Five Stars all around!

Had a wonderful check up and cleaning today with Dr. Kiyan. I had veneers done here 4 years ago now and they still look as good when I got them. I get compliments on my teeth all the time and people don’t even know they are veneers!! Haha. This is office is truly the best in San Diego and I’m grateful for what they have done for me.

Jennifer should really honestly be fired for her behavior. Someone on here described her as belligerent and that couldn't be more accurate. We received at $14,000+ quoted package or treatment plan, whatever you want to call it. Jen felt it was very offensive to suggest they sell their patients on anything other than a "plan" and was very offended in the idea that they "sell"... Our first run in with Jennifer was when they charged us for a dental cleaning beyond what the dental plan had broken down. (Their cleanings are $350+.... and is not covered by insurance due to their prices. On top of that, they want to do them every 3 months. This in itself is a huge cash injection into the company.... sales...). This was annoying, of course, because the girl there before her who was much better to deal with and who sold us on this, explained the package was all we would every be charged... package... not plan. But sure, lady... its a "plan." After several convos with Jen, she spoke with the dentist and they approved a credit since they did not allow the actual payer, me, to be present due to covid. She also stated she would call me, the actual payer before charging me again. Haha, that never happened. Then, comes the best part. My husband who had temps put on his mouth, whitened with the dentist's whitening supplies for months and was told by the crown company, who was referred by Jennifer and the team, that he would not like the coloring at all and should continue to whiten. Wonderful... another issue. But thanks for your honesty, right? After all, he is being told over and over how much we're going to "love the results by the dentist." Well, let's see what we have to do next. So we called floss and received a call back and email from a very threatening and hostile Jennifer stating several overly expensive options to pay for this while also stating that there was no way my husband's color could get any lighter. Also, stating that we would "not be contacting them upset again

I’ve been coming to floss for years now. Each time, the experience has been unparalleled. The staff and doctor are so kind, which is a welcomed change to so many other dentists that I’ve seen between LA and SD. They are so good that even though I’m in graduate school in a different state, I make it a point to fly back just to get my dental cleaning.

their work might be good but customer service is horrible. the office manager feels entitled to talk to patient's like their money has no worth.
I know that the customer is not always right but it is called manners and having some type of courtesy.

BEFORE CONSIDERING FLOSS, READ THEIR RESPONSES TO NEGATIVE REVIEWS! DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DEAL WITH A COMPANY LIKE THIS?
After a few years, my Clear Correct retainer ripped when taking it out of my mouth. I called Floss to inquire about a replacement, and spoke with Jennifer. She told me that Floss no longer works with Clear Correct, and that they would need to scan me and create a new retainer for $480. When I questioned the cost, Jennifer became defensive. When I told her that I was dissatisfied and would be updating my reviews accordingly, she became unprofessional and belligerent. I would not recommend that anyone go to Floss given that they don't stand behind their products and services, and if something goes wrong, the office manager will berate you. The worst part is that I referred a ton of people to Floss, including my wife, but never will again!
For anyone wondering about how Floss's staff treats patients, see their response below, and be sure to read all their responses on this site and other review sites. Imagine a dentist office that calls their patients "gross" and fights with people on Yelp and Google! Ask yourself if you want to be treated by people who react so viciously when something goes wrong, or if pressed to explain their pricing. Yes, they're all smiles when they're selling you services, but once they have your money, they'll turn downright nasty. Seriously, check out their unhinged and unprofessional responses to me and many other patients. Floss staff's own words say far more about them than I ever could.
As for Floss's reply, yes, I think charging a customer $500 for a retainer that ripped after a few years is excessive. Also, it's not my fault that Floss discontinued its relationship with Clear Correct after selling it to me and many other patients. My regular dentist called Clear Correct, and they have digital copies of all my records and can simply print another retainer. Floss is charging me $500 because they no longer have a relat

I had such a great experience at floss. I enquired about an appt on a weekend when I was thinking about it and Jennifer called me first thing Monday morning to set up my appt. When I arrived there was plenty of parking and even complementary valet. Alex at the front desk greeted me and offered me sparkling or still water, cold or room temp, that was nice! Never been offered that before. I had a great consultation with Dr. K. right off the bat you can tell that he knows his craft well, is experienced and very passionate about what he does. At the end of our consultation he asked if I had any questions and honestly I didn’t because he covered everything. Alex made scheduling appts easy and confirmed via text. I would highly recommend, I can’t stop smiling!
