I went see Dr. Bono after I was told that I needed implant by other emergency dentist. They wanted to make a mold and schedule extraction right there so I wanted to have my long time dentist's opinion. Dr. Bono took her time to examine my teeth, shaved my retainer and told me to wait and see. I am glad that I saw her before I made a big decision. Thank you, Dr. Bono.

I have PTSD the front desk staff were laughing and talking so loud I could hear them from inside the ex ray room! I made 2 complaints but to NO avail and was totally ignored! The teeth cleaning was very painful ! Another HORRIBLE experience I had to go through!

UPDATE: Hawaii Family Dental never reached out. It is clear that collecting on inflated insurance-paid procedures takes priority over patient satisfaction and well being. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been a patient here for 9 years and it has gotten worse lately. They milk your insurance and don't care about your time. I had a sensitive molar and have been in 4 times about it and only on the 4th visit got a solid treatment plan from them. There is no continuity of care. You'll see a different dentist every time. Take a close look at your bill and understand your own deductible and coverage--more than once I have discovered errors (always in favor of the clinic, surprise!). I cannot recommend Hawaii Family Dental to anyone.

I was back again and this time I saw Dr. Meredith. He has the best high tech dentist stuff!!! I came in and was looking at a screen with my teeth blown up really big. Then he could explain exactly what needed to be done!!! I really love this place. And I also want to give Brittany a big thank you for helping my understand my account!!! I really can't say enough good things about this facility. I had a big day yesterday at Hawaii Family Dental. Dr. Mitsunaga is really terrific. He is funny and so easy to talk to. I love the basket in Dr. Mitsunaga's treatment room! I never know where to put my backpack when I go to the dentist, and the basket is perfect!!! I also had full x-rays taken by a lovely assistant who made the whole process bearable!!! I must applaud the excellent services of Mary Jane who did my cleaning. She is awesome! Everyone else, from the assistant who applied the flouride, to the reception team in this office, was very professional and kind. Thank you Hawaii Family Dental!!! Pleasant...Professional...Painless

Because of COVID I was overdue for my check up and cleaning. I was called by Rebecca and notified that there was opening for my cleaning and check up same day- I jumped at the opportunity ! I was greeted by Joy and Yve who made me feel so welcomed. My hygienist was Shanice and she was so patient with my millions of questions and chattering during my cleaning. She told me I need to floss more, but let’s be honest- we all do. The office was clean and I felt safe in their environment! I will definitely be back in 6 months. Hawaii Family Dental thinks they can charge you tax when they’re told not to by the insurance company. One of the dentist filed down a perfectly normal tooth. Maddening. Don’t go!
