Hawaii Family Dental - Queen Kaahumanu Center

I had a tiny chip on a bottom front tooth repaired. The Dr was able to perform the repair without having to numb me and I felt no discomfort. This was yesterday. So far, so good. I expect the repair to last indefinitely. Overall, all my experiences with Hawaii Family Dental have been favorable. However, for a total cost of $532 … I mean, for the minimal work required, the results had better be top notch. Right?

Hi I can’t tell you what a great experience it was having 3 fillings done in one day! Best dental place & dentist that I have been to. Wonderful staff & Dr. Lena & her assistant, Jane were all great!

Going here is always nice, the dentists are friendly and calming. The operating chairs are comfortable and I'm always so relaxed despite having medical tools in my mouth. Also the infographics on the walls are a nice touch. Thank you Hawaii Family Dental! :)

I have been there numerous times for cavities, root canals, cleaning, and temporary/permanent crowns. Everyone is so friendly, and knowledgeable, with their respective positions. I recommend them to everyone that I know. Now that all of my dental issues are pau and am only scheduled for cleaning and check ups, I will miss seeing everyone.

Told me I had 10 cavities. Stressed out for a year thinking I needed 8 more fillings after I had two filled by them. Got opinions from three other dentists and they all said I don’t have any cavities. Did temperature, pain tests and x-rays. No pain and no holes in my teeth. These people tried to charge me thousands of dollars for fillings that were not properly diagnosed. I spent a year in stress thinking I needed fillings that I don’t. Definitely would not recommend this clinic.

I was so impressed at the seamless teamwork of Dr. K and Lance (don't know his last name). They were a great team, worked together effortlessly, played soothing music, and were finished filling my cavity in no time. Absolutely painless. I will definitely request them both again!

I think the experience is so-so. It feels quite corporate compared to a family practice. The admin and the hygienists are fabulous. My doctor seemed overtasked and had little time for me after being quite late. When I asked questions, I get unclear and somewhat robotic answers. If I want to asked about a procedure, they are more inclined to focus on how they would code and bill me for it in the computer, rather than to help me with an issue in my mouth. Orthodontics side also seemed brusk, unhelpful, and expensive when I asked about a minor fix. Hawaii Family Dental also just set appointments for every question I might have so that I have to come into the office to have my time wasted in person rather than receive answers via the phone. I am questioning if I am receiving the best care due to the structure of the organization.

ok I paid my bill and I asked for a receipt . Fortunately I looked at it as the person at the desk had given a different person credit for my payment. I was shocked. It took several minutes for them to remove my payment from another person and give it to me. I suggest if you go to this business you check your receipt carefully. my dental hygenist is execellent.

Staffs are so friendly and professional. My kid feels very comfortable every time he is there.

The hygienist was thorough and gentle enough. I recommend coming here for all ages

OK. I visited on Tuesday to have a tooth removed and prepared for an implant. Dr. Stone and his assistant were GREAT and I felt totally relaxed and safe in their care.I totally recommend this dental office and everyone there is friendly and kind.

Recently moved to Maui and selected HFD for my new dentist. I was very pleased with the attention to detail, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff I encountered. A big THANKS to Daisun, hygienist, who fixed a tooth surface that needed fixing! Will recommend to anyone looking for a dental practice.

I got my braces there paid it fully after paying it full they took it off for reason that’s i have for so long and my teeth is not even fixed, i waste my 6k to that mean orthodontist

First off only 1 pediatric dentist, they are always late! My sons appointment was at 10:30 they didn't seem him till 11:12. The seats inside by the pediatric area are absolutely disgusting! When I brought it to the staffs attention they looked at me like I had 5 heads , with NO apology or reply that they would clean them or look into it. Only plus side is the dentist is friendly and accommodating.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE and the skill sets by my dentist and dental hygienist [Nancy] are always top notch!! I highly recommend Hawaii Family Dental for all your dental health needs. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Lots of pluses for Hawaii Family Dental: convenient location, great staff, lots of parking, plenty of reminders for appointments (via phone/email/text), and easy to reschedule if needed. I'm happy that I consistently have the same hygienist for my cleanings, and the reception desk is always good about providing an estimate of how much insurance covers and how much will likely need to be paid out-of-pocket. I know people have different preferences when it comes to cleanings. Some want gentle cleanings with little to no pain, while I tend to prefer an aggressive cleaning where I know that every last nook and cranny has been scoured. The staff is large enough for people to find someone who matches their preferences, but if you're like me - ask for Ana!
