I love going to see Dr.Winter he's amazing and his staff also.. very friendly environment

I am not happy because I've been coming here a little over a year. At first it was a great experience. Last time I was in, i was pregnant, told them i was pregnant, they began cleaning my teeth and then Stopped a few minutes in and told me to come back after i had my baby. Now they are telling me they dont accept my insurance, even though it says they do on their website. They are just turning me away at this point. I specifically remember them saying they wont take new patients with that insurance but would continue to see current ones. And it even says so right on the website. This is frustrating.

One of the dentists went on at length defending use of mercury for fillings, because, after all, the American Dental Association has been around forever, thus is trustworthy, and the ADA says they're safe. All the while he tried convincing me of this, his eyes focused somewhere up toward the corner of the room. He knows just how dangerous they are and that's why he couldn't look me in the eye. By now, every dentist in every industrialized nation, including those living in caves and under rocks, all of them well KNOW that mercury fillings can and eventually will cause severe detriment to people's health and eventually ruin teeth to which they're applied, all common knowledge among so called professionals since the early to mid 1900's. Any dentist who defends their continued use clearly does not maintain patient's best interests as priority. It's crucial that patients be informed as to the widely various damages that eventually come about throughout body and mind caused by mercury amalgams. Any dentist who does not inform those who already have such fillings sees patients strictly as sources for income rather than human beings whose suffering may be prevented or halted. As mercury accumulates in various places throughout the body and brain, it also causes cracks in teeth they're supposed to protect. At that point unscrupulous dentists (which is most) insist a crown is necessary, for which, of course, he makes money. But the mercury is still there thus damage continues, festers, and surrounding teeth are affected. Along the way comes root canal work and more and more money. Then one, two, and more and more teeth need pulled until all are gone, then come dentures, and fittings, and more fittings, and on and on, money, money, lots more money, for the dentist. Never mind that many of us didn't need the fillings to begin with. They were put in because it was easy money for dentists looking to gain immediate and long term income. I went to this dental clinic twice

Never made it there. I tried to call twice to make an appointment, no one answered. Oddly, the answering machine says it's Thursday, June 28th and they are closed for the evening- and here i was damn sure it was 10AM in early November?

Amazing staff who has always worked me in and made me feel comfortable. Dr Winter is very compassionate and takes time to talk with you. I send people I know there.

I was referred to them through​ a holistic organization that has this practice listed as practicing holistic medicine. The next closest practice that also practices holistic medicine is in Iowa City. I had stated holistic medicine was important to me, we scheduled an appointment all looked good. I get a call back five minutes later my appointment was cancelled, my insurance isn't good enough, they aren't accepting new patients and they tell me to go somewhere that uses flouride and doesn't practice holistic​ medicine at all. I am informed the suggestion is what I am looking for. If you are looking​ for a dental office that isn't judgemental please keep looking. If you are looking to go to holistic dentist they are in Iowa City. Medicine is about healing not insurance.

Hubby has been Dr. Winter's patient three years+ with excellent care. Today Dr. Winter explained treatment options. His staff prepared cost estimates, comparisons and gave us a printout including insurance estimated coverage and our expected costs. We couldn't be happier with their services.

Worse dentist office I've been to. The doctor don't stop talking long enough for you to explain your pain, he insinuates you are a drug user if you say the Tylenol 3's don't cut the pain and he is very rude. He kicks people out of his office because he won't shut up long enough for anyone to talk and tells you he is reporting to your insurance so you will lose it. I would never recommend this dentist to anyone. If anything I highly recommend NEVER going there!!

I could not be more disappointed :-( I went in for a consultation, to see if Dr. Winter could help with my tooth sensitivity. Dr. Winter spent time answering my questions, and even explained the underlying cause behind my concerns. I believe Dr. Winter is highly competent and skilled at what he does. HOWEVER the billing team is a whole different story! I asked the woman at the checkout desk twice, to make sure I didn't owe anything for the consultation visit. Then, a month later I got a bill for $70! I emailed the office, hoping this was just an error or misunderstanding - unfortunately it seems they are not capable of acknowledging an email or sending a reply. It's really sad to see a skilled professional like Dr. Winter stuck in an office that can't answer emails or provide accurate billing answers. By the way, to my knowledge this is the ONLY office that bills for an initial consultation!

Dr. Winter and his dental team are the best. All of my dental procedures (root canals) they've done where quick and painless! Dr. Winter is the the best at what he does and they make the dental experience enjoyable everytime!

I have had phenomenal care for myself and my family over the last 4 years. I have special TMJ concerns that other dentists have not understood and Dr. Winter has provided wonderful care in this area of my treatment. I can't imagine going anywhere else but to this office for myself and my children. This has been the best dental office we have ever been to.

It's ironic his last name is Dr. Winter, because he's so darn sunny. This was my first time in the office and it was a great experience. First, the Dr. was wearing an awesome scrubs shirt with whales on it, reminiscent of Lisa Frank. You know, those glorious Lisa Frank dolphin and whale folders you collected in the third grade. Oh the good ole days. Super awesome. But, furthermore, he was extremely good about explaining everything. He went through detailed photos of my teeth, explained grinding, explained all of the new equipment he was using and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I only received preventative care today, but will need to come back to have a few cavities filled later. The wonderful lady at the front desk plugged in all of the numbers and clearly outlined how much my insurance would be covering for those services and how much I would owe, so there is no guess work involved for me when I come back. I really appreciate that, and I didn't even have to ask. The office is lovely, the people are lovely. I and my family will certainly be continuing our care here.

They were extremely polite and very caring. They got me in very quickly, and helped me deal with the issues I was having. They have great high tech equipment, that not only they use; but they also show you your high resolution pictures so you may understand also. The cleaning was a great, and she was very gentle, and the dentist has 30 + yrs experience. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for great care, with amazing customer service.
