Shoal Valley Dental

Last year I was charged $45 each for me and my child for a “no show/canceled appt” and I didn’t find out until today. That’s almost double a specialists co-pay!! During that time, my mother was in the hospital and I was taking care of her so obviously calling my dentist wasn’t the 1st thing on my mind. I can certainly see the practice charging a small fee when things like this happen, but for me $45 is extreme and not something I can afford. I have to take my kid there to get a filling tomorrow (only bc I’m worried they will try and take even more money from me if I cancel) but after tomorrow I will not be returning to this practice. I would like to add that we terminated the relationship and I’m appreciative that they were kind and professional during this process. The charges were also written off (which really is a big relief for my financial situation). While our relationship didn’t work out, for my individual reasons, please don’t let my unique situation deter you from this practice.

Big fan of this dental practice and everyone who works here! I see Dr. Wick, and he is a great, kind, and personable dentist. My hygienist is also fantastic, and I enjoy catching up every 6 months for a cleaning. I needed to get in a bit earlier today and the office staff made a note of it and made it happen, which I so appreciate. I would highly recommend this dental office!

I am torn with the experience I have had at this office. We have gone here at least 4 times, each time I have come I have told them I do not want my 6 year olds and 4 year old going in the back separately without my supervision. They normally accommodate but today they would not so we had to cancel our appointment. This is very irritating because I specifically picked a day my kids wouldn’t be in school and I could take off work. Not everyone has the luxury of two parents being off work at the same time or having the time to make 3 separate appointments.

This place is amazing!!!!!! I have high anxiety and they accommodated every need possible. Amanda, Paige and Dr. Journee (hope I got the spelling right) are above and beyond. I have really bad teeth and am intimidated with the “stereo type” of the bomb shell, perfect teeth dental assistants. No one in there made me feel that way. Needless to say I have appointments to finally get my teeth fixed and am beyond excited to go back. I wanna smile with confidence and I finally have hope. Thank you so much.

As a young adult who is scared of dentists due to several bad experiences in the past, I was not disappointed. I switched to this dentist and it surpassed my expectations. It wasn’t like other dentists offices where I have to wait 30+ minutes. As soon as I got my paper work filled out they got me right in. I was really impressed by their efficiency and the way everyone communicates with each other. Dr. Journee seems like a great dentist. He took the time to introduce himself, pull up my X-rays and show me a few teeth he was concerned about. He answered all my questions and didn’t make me feel rushed at all which has been a problem at past dentists. I will be back.

really can’t say enough good things about this practice and everyone here. Dr. Journee has been my dentist for a few years, now he is my daughters dentist as well. Everyone is so friendly and makes you feel like family. They are very good at what they do and I will always recommend this practice.

Dr. Wick has been the primary dentist for my family for as long as I can remember. Amazing guy with amazing expertise. I get compliments on my smile all the time haha. The whole staff has been friendly and always been there to accommodate our needs. Thanks for the care over the years!

I never knew how great this dental office was until I moved to another state. It was such a pleasure to have Dr. Wick as my dentist and he is the best dentist I ever met! I highly recommend this place!

Dr Journee and the Shoal Valley Dental staff are awesome. Everyone answered my questions and I could tell from my last appointment that Dr Journee is not only an awesome Dentist, but a great teacher as well. I noticed he would quiz and explain why he was doing certain things with his staff so they learned valuable information, as well as some tips and tricks for certain procedures. Heck, just sitting in the dental chair listening made me want to go to dental school and learn too. LOL Overall, a great experience. I look forward to getting any future dental work done by Dr Journee and Shoal Valley Dental staff!

I'm never going there again

This isn't my regular dentist, but I had two big fillings fall out at once and mine was absolutely booked. I called and they managed to fit me in a little under a week later to take a look and get things fixed. I don't really have dental anxiety but I was in a lot of discomfort when I came in. They stopped as soon as I showed any kind of pain, and the assistant (Tasha, I believe) was so sweet and kept rubbing my shoulder and reminding me to breathe any time things got rough. We had to stop several times due to pain, but they assured me it was no issue even if it made them get a little behind in the end. In all, a very positive experience for me, and I plan on going back since it's closer than my regular place anyways. Thanks, y'all!

We absolutely love Dr. Wick and the entire staff at Shoal Valley Dental! I won’t take my daughter anywhere else for her cleanings and she wouldn’t allow me to! They are wonderful and I appreciate all they do for my family! Thank you to the entire staff!

I’ve been going here since I was around 10, the dentist is great. He is always looking out for his patients and I 100% recommend.

The entire staff at Shoal Valley Dental will take great care of you the moment you walk in the door. They will treat you like family and make the dental experience a pleasant experience. Dr. Journee has all dental procedures down to a science and will make you chuckle along the dental journey. Consider this dentist practice if new to the area or looking for another dentist. Five Stars for sure.

I took my 6 year old granddaughter in for a crown. Dr. Banhart talked to her directly and comforted her (and meme). He told her exactly what he was going to do before doing it. She was such a big girl! I was nervous about not taking her to a pediatric dentist but I am so glad I chose Shoal Valley. Dr. Wick Sr and Paige were fantastic as well.

Dr. Journee was excellent during my filling. He made it as painless as possible. I appreciated the way he coached me through it, communicating and counting down the minutes and seconds saying, "40 seconds until you would walk though the door." I feel freedom to convey my comfort level during each of my visits. Very grateful!

My husband and I switched to Dr. Journee almost 2 years ago. The staff is amazing!!! Dr. Journee is amazing!!!! I get in and out very quickly. They are very efficient and take the time to answer questions. Highly recommend this dental office!!!
