Modern Family Dental

Beware of Hillary Hawkins DDS she did a filling on a tooth in 2021 that led to an abscess, loss of the tooth and osteo bone infection in my jaw and Trigeminal nerve damage. I'm still having to get IV antibiotics because of her lack of knowledge, skills and patient followup. She is directly responsible for the worst 2 years of my life !! PATIENTS BEWARE DO NOT GO TO THIS PROVIDER OR ANY CLINIC THAT EMPLOYS HER!!! People need to be aware of the damage these providers are causing.....

Very nice office. The dentist is very personable and contentious of her work. The scheduler is extremely helpful, and looks up all you coverage information for you if you don't know what it is. The most amazing thing - they are open on Saturday!

Hi s for appointment for a cleaning which I did not get I got x-rays and examination for deep cleaning but still and not get my regular cleaning done on my teeth NI cannot make an appointment for a regular cleaning before the deep cleaning one comes about so I will get another dental office to do this Dr. Lee

While friendly enough, the care given here is haphazard. I went in several months ago because a bridge was bothering me. Dr. Lee took an x-ray and told me "nothing was wrong." 3 months later, it still bothers me, and last week I went in for a cleaning. It was the hygienist that discovered the problem...the bridge tooth was broken along the entire surface! Not only did he NOT find the problem, according to a second opinion I got yesterday, because of the delay in proper diagnosis, a tooth adjacent to the broken one is now in jeopardy, partially because it wiggles, and it's ruining the root. They are overly friendly, but when it comes down to dental care, I want a person who focuses on treatment; I like a smile (doesn't everyone? ) but I do not necessarily want to discuss my plans for the day, my family, or other personal information with people I don't really know. The folks at MFD are obsequious; that doesn't work for me...combine that with their attempt to charge me for a visit that was cancelled by them, and their poor diagnostics, I'm not returning. I'd been a patient for over 3 years. I know they do a fine job for many, but I'm not comfortable there. My advice is shop around; there are plenty of dentists to choose from.

First, I want to say that I am absolutely PETRIFIED of the dentist. I was hurt by 2 different dentist at 2 different places, (not Modern Family). I have had some teeth issues so I had to go to the dentist to get these taken care of and, by the recommendation of my mom, Dr. Nathan Lee it was. I have never had such a compassionate, kind, caring, understanding and gentle dentist as he is. He was so patient with me and even validated my fears. I have had 2 procedures done by him and I will NEVER go anywhere else!! Dr. Lee took his time, kept checking in to make sure I was ok every few seconds, even during the procedures. I never felt like a baby or that I was being over the top. He treated me with respect and even made me laugh. His entire staff is incredible and I can not recommend Dr. Lee enough!! Thank you all for being the wonderful people you are!!

I was a first time patient here they told me my x-ray would be covered by my insurance but still sent me a bill. Definitely Not going back there again.

Dr. Lee is the best dentist I’ve ever had! I needed an emergency tooth repair and called right when they opened on Monday. They told me to come in at noon and I was out the door in 30 minutes. You can not go wrong with Modern Family Dental!

I am extremely disappointed in the Modern Family Dental clinic in Happy Valley! I became a new patient at this clinic 6 months ago. I had an entire set of xrays, an exam, and my teeth cleaned. I scheduled another cleaning in 6 months. When I arrived I inquired about pricing as I am paying out of pocket. The receptionist then said, that I would also need to have and pay for another exam. I shared with her that nothing in my health had changed and that I was not having any dental problems. She went back and asked the doctor about it. The doctor said that if I didn’t have and pay for an exam every time that I had my teeth cleaned, that I would be denied services and have to go somewhere else. It looks like Modern Family Dental in Happy Valley has money as their top priority. Not only have they lost my money, but also me as a patient!

I came in to see Dr. Lee as a new patient today. He and his staff were so welcoming and kind. I have a dentist phobia and they were very sensitive to that. They went way out of there way to help me look my best when I meet the in-laws tomorrow. I feel so fortunate to have such a fantastic dentist so close to home. His office is bright and cheerful. They hygentist made sure to wxplain evwrything to me before she did it. Checked in with me frequently to make sure I was comfortable. Dr. Lee has great bedside manner and is very upbeat. This is my dentist from now on!

Dr. Nathan Lee is wonderful! I just took my 6 year old there for the first time, and she was very nervous. She has a lot of dental phobia. Dr. Lee was so gentle, slow, respectful, and friendly that my daughter felt perfectly at ease. He is obviously a very skilled and caring dentist. I was pleased with the professionalism of the office staff as well!

I've been a patient for over 10 years! Never had a problem and they are always nice, friendly and professional. They work with all my insurance changes over the years too, and always stay on top of everything. Highly recommend.

I cannot say enough about how truly amazing the staff is here. I have a very high level of anxiety regarding dentists, but everyone I've encountered here at the Happy Valley location has exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them!! I'll send the rest of my family here in the future. Thank you Dr. Alexis Ly and staff...you are amazing!!

Extremely rude receptionist, I was really surprised. Also, they double book all their patients so plan on waiting a while to be seen.

I have been seeing Nathan Lee as my dentist for the past couple of years (he's great & I actually liked having him as my dentist). But I have a ongoing issue with a tooth that we recently (past couple of months) had a check up for and agreed it would be more cost effective to wait until January when I could actually use my dental insurance. Today I went for my appointment and they tried to charge me $80 for a complete new check up and my insurance won't cover it because they already charged my insurance for 2 in the past 12 months! I explained to them that Dr Lee said to come back when my insurance kicked in and we can take care of it. They tried to gouge me for another $80 on top of the 50% I was going to have to pay for the work which is already more expensive than other places like $2500. I doubt Dr Lee is aware of the fact that the woman at the front desk wasn't willing to even listen to me or speak to the Dr. It's okay though! Thanks to the internet I can warn everyone that this place over charges and sends inflated bills to your insurance provider! Pretty pathetic really. Funny how they loose $2500 over $80. My new dentist will appreciate the new business and I hope the woman with the short dark hair in her 40s finds a more suitable job that isn't dealing with people!

I'm a new patient at MFD; I had a cleaning, and a cavity filled here, and had a great experience. Dr. Lee and the staff make patient comfort a high priority during dental procedures.

As I'm sitting in the chair waiting for Dr. Lee to see me I feel must share my experiences. Dr. Lee has been my family dentist for the last 15 years. We have followed him to his new office in happy valley. I live in Beaverton and drive out to happy valley to continue seeing him. Dr Lee is amazing. He is gentle with procedures and explains thoroughly what my options are and lets me decide the route I want to take. His staff is amazing from the scheduling staff to the dental hygienist. The staff always wants to make sure I'm comfortable and understand what the next step is. They keep me updated about any delays and ask if there is anything they can do to make my appointment easier. I highly recommend Dr. Lee and Dr. Lam to anybody. I would not see anyone else. They have multiple locations so if I cannot get into one location I can see the other same day at another location which makes it convenient for busy schedules. If you are looking for a dental practice you can have for life I highly recommend Modern Family Dental! (P.S I had to finish this review after my appointment as I was seen promptly after the assistant was finished with the prep.)

I definitely have to say something about the Modern Family dentist in Happy Valley. Doctor Lee is such a nice person! He is so personal and friendly. I had a root canal and he did a perfect job. No more pain and after he talked to me I wasn't even scared anymore. I'm so happy that I went into the modern family dentistry! You guys are wonderful :-) Hugs from the German Girl! :-)

Excellent care, professional and on time.

I feel like I must say something about this place. I have had dental anxiety my whole life. This place is wonderful and I feel less anxious about going. Dr. Lee ( Dentist) just helps me relax and talks me through my anxiety. He has even got me to use the epinephrine that they use to numb before root canals. This is a feat let me tell you! I don't like anything that makes my heart race, even for just a moment. I have had to use the local stuff and it doesn't work nearly as good as the epi does and I don't have to have as many shots either!! ( usually takes me about 7-10 shots to numb up) Dr. Busi it so very nice too!! I have to admit that I don't mind going quite so much. Thank you Modern Family Dental for easing my anxieties and treating me so well! I also have to say that each time I have had an emergency they have worked me in ( I don't know how, but they did) and I didn't have to wait all that long. TWO THUMBS UP!!
