Ideal Dental Amarillo

Staff not professional on the phone...apt ended up canceled with no prior notification from the office, will not be returning.

Very sales pitch oriented. Everyone was nice, the x-ray techs were the best! The reason they were the best was because I told the office, the techs, and everyone, I ONLY wanted to do what my insurance would cover, which was basic x-rays and a cleaning. So when my daughter was getting cleaned simultaneously as me but by another hygienist, her hygienist put in her chart that she needed a bunch of extra stuff like a fluoride treatment and glaze, and some other things my insurance would not cover and the tech told her no. Pull that off, she doesn't want anything over insurance. Had those extra items been done, I would have refused to pay for them. We get our teeth cleaned every 6 months and I specifically said no. My daughter also said she only wanted services that insurance would pay for. And they did allll sorts of unnecessary stuff only because insurance would pay for it. 3 different types of x-rays of the same areas (the whole mouth) and then an ultrasound, again of the same areas. Total over kill. After our cleanings, they said I needed a bunch of fillings and crowns, to the tune of $3k, and my daughter, who's never had a cavity in her life, has $1500 worth of fillings needed. Now mind you, I was VERY happy with my previous dentist. The only reason I switched was due to an insurance change. Regarding the cleanings themselves, both hygienists were rough. My daughter was still bleeding in the evening and it was a morning appointment. AND our teeth were still dirty! My hygienist missed my front bottom teeth when polishing, and both of us still feel the plague. So horrible job. We did not get what we paid for and will not be back. They were nice, but ineffective. Everyone was nice except the receptionist was slightly testy, but only when you politely said no. And then when we checked out, when we declined scheduling all the crowns and fillings, they didn't even offer to schedule our next 6 month cleaning visit. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment. This appointment was changed by them due to opened availability. I wasn’t seen until 50 minutes past my appointment time. So now I’m rushed and upset. Once being seen I am told my insurance wouldn’t cover the cleaning. I asked why that was. I was told by the assistant she wasn’t for sure something about the type of procedure. I thought it was a mistake and I could get cleared up with insurance company. After the cleaning I paid out of pocket. After dealing with insurance I called this location back. As I was inquiring about getting a refund and then as to why certain processes were followed and expressing I didn’t feel all the info was given to me the person on the line took an aggressive tone and started asking questions like “if you had a problem with the charge, why didn’t you ask that day?” She stated she wasn’t the one to explain the procedure to me and said I should’ve asked more questions. She also kept telling me “of course you weren’t going to get that procedure” as if I worked in the industry and should have those insights. I told her that’s is the dental offices’ job to explain those things. So if you choose to work with this location, expect to be seen late and ask any and all questions you can think of. Because I think I was given a procedure I didn’t ask for without all the information to make an informed decision and was rushed into making that decision.

I broke a tooth and called them at 4:45pm and they had me in at 10:30 the next morning and they put together a plan❗️All the staff are all super nice and super friendly and super helpful! Found my new place❗️💯💥

I found Ideal Dental online and thought that I would give them a try. Their dental office is very nice and all of the administrative people at the front desk are very polite very professional as well as the dental assistants. The dentist that I saw was so pleasant and so nice and explained everything to me that she was doing and looking for and I couldn't be happier! I am so glad that I gave Ideal Dental a try and I will continue to see them for all of my dental needs!

Whatever happened to getting things done in one visit? Used to be you could get an extensive cleaning done on both sides of the mouth at the same time as the initial visit.

Went in for a basic check-up/cleaning… they refused and said I had to pay for a deep cleaning. Total scam and the lady “dismissed” me when I told her I just wanted the basic cleaning. Rip off.

My children enjoy going to get their teeth cleaned. Ideal dental has great customer service and make sure their patients are comfortable. I would refer them to anyone. This is by far the best place we've ever been to.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable the receptionist was kind smiling which is what you need when you first go into the dentist office. The technician that cleaned my teeth was amazing. The technician that x-rayed my teeth was very friendly and conversational. And of course the dentist was kind and knowledgeable. He was able to pinpoint the problem give me a option as to how to treat treat it. I would definitely recommend anybody looking for a dentist to choose ideal Dental.

Today was my daughters first big girl visit. The nurses were so patient and sweet with her during her cleaning and X-rays! My daughter is not a fan of having fingers in her mouth but the nurses helped keep her calm and I really appreciate that! Definitely going to come back
