SCAM ALERT!!! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!! I never leave reviews but just feel so taken advantage of after leaving this place. I’m a 26 year old female but look pretty young for my age so they probably thought they could take advantage of a trusting young lady. I just left Austin Modern Dentistry for an annual check-up, cleaning and wanted to also get a chip in my tooth fixed. I just moved here and was looking for a new place that took my insurance and wish I read reviews before taking off of work, to come and waste my time because I just had the same issues as everyone else. Was there for a little under an hour. All they did was take my x-rays and then dental hygienist, NATASHA GRAY, came in to examine my gums, with no intention of doing an actual cleaning. She came to a very quick conclusion that I had a severe gum infection and she was so concerned with my bone health and that it was in serious danger even though I have never had issues before, didn’t feel pain when she was poking and my gums don’t bleed. Recommended a plan that costs $762 (without insurance) and then quickly left the room. DR. LISA OCHOA came into the room next and looked at my x-rays and poked around my teeth. She then told me I had 5 cavities. I’ve had cavities before when I was a teen/child and I know what that feels like when a dentist finds a cavity on your tooth and her poking did not feel like that at all. She also let me know that they didn’t have time to clean my teeth or fix my chipped tooth - which were the reasons I came but they had no problem racking up a bill/treatment plan for me and letting me know that I had to schedule a different time for those even thought it took me 2 months to even get this appointment. And also was so worried about my wisdom teeth and recommended that I get them out there using their oral surgeon with-in the year. I am 26 years old but they have not bothered me yet or even really poked out of my gums and I ask my dentists every year and no one has been con

If I could give zero stars I would. My sister recommended this place as she loved Dr Ochoa. There are so many things wrong with this place- They overcharge EVERYONE. $1900 for 2 crowns. They said I “opted” for the more expensive crowns but I was never given an option. They also have you sign waivers without letting you see what you are signing. One of these was apparently claiming I was provided with options for the crowns and I chose to pay $1200 more for the crowns to be made same day-yeah I’m a teacher-I don’t have that cash to throw around. Despite that, the 2 crowns were incorrectly placed in my mouth which resulted in 4 weeks of pain. I kept going in and saying something is not right-they would make adjustments, but never resolved the pain. FINALLY Dr Ochoa did X-rays and determined they were not on right whereas the other doctor was telling me she would have to do a double root canal because they could not determine which tooth was the problem. 2 weeks of temp crowns to allow my swollen and sore mouth to heal. During all of this my insurance said my out of pocket expense should have only been $740 for the crowns. I have filed a grievance, and Brandon in the office said they have opened a formal complaint and I should hear something about a refund soon-that was months ago and now no one is responding to emails. I have serious doubts my grievance was ever escalated. My next step is filing formal complaints with the state. These people are thieves. I am not even sure I needed those 2 crowns at all. My sister also no longer goes there and her new dentist looked at all the work they did and told her flat out she was way overcharged. They would only allow her yo do “deep cleaning” which cost her so much out of pocket. And there was no need for it. I would never step foot in this place again. And the automated comment below-I’ve tried contacting the office and get the same answer for over 4 months. “We are working in your claim.”

After my initial assessment, I requested my records in order to get a second opinion. It took 4 phone calls over the course of weeks to finally receive these via email. I decided to proceed with the appointment, and am generally anxious at the dentist. Dr. Ochoa made me feel at ease, had a kind demeanor and I felt like I was in good hands. All of the staff is polite as well. I’ll be sticking with the office from here on out, despite the initial delay in receiving records

Usually I would give this place 5 stars. However, my most recent visit sucked! The periodontist himself was the only reason it's not a 1 star. I get in at 8:50, my appointment is for 9am. I'd already checked in beforehand. They needed me to fill out papers, which is fine. Had those done by 9. Then my mom and I sat there for 20 minutes before being taken back, another 10 before anyone else walked in the room. Periodontist consult was done at 9:45, but we had to talk about quotes. Some lady told us it would be 15 minutes (minimum) before the billing lady would be able to be in. My mom mentioned she had to catch a flight, and there was no effort to help us out, and the lady had an attitude. Lo and behold, the billing lady comes in 5 minutes later (not 15) and we were out quickly. But the office didn't respect our time, and the overall attitude was very rude. Except for the billing lady, she was nice. Please respect your patients time! If I make an appointment for 9am, I should be seen at 9am! Or at least close to or!

Wonderful friendly staff, caring and compassionate. I've a fear of getting dental work throughout my life, but this place helped me feel relaxed, and free of fear. I had the most stress free, and pain free, root canal I've ever had in my life of almost 68 years. One of my sons has a fear of dental work too, and I'll be highly recommending this dental office to him.

100% a scam. They do an extensive look at your teeth before sitting you down with a finance person to try to get you to pay for extra services and then lie and say they can't clean your teeth unless you pay extra. Wasted an hour of my day and couldn't get my teeth cleaned. Absolutely livid.

Efficient and personable.

Went in for severe tooth pain after being shut down immediately for being pregnant by another office. Let me tell you the staff here is AMAZING, super friendly and all very helpful. Dr Ochoa was so sweet and understanding she took me in on an emergency appointment and I was able to get my tooth extracted the same day. I have never been so satisfied with a Dentist EVER! Thank you so much for everything!!!

Great experience. The doctor (Lisa) and hygienist (Ricky) were very friendly and willing to take the time to explain key aspects of my dental health. Highly recommend.

I’ve been coming to this office for years. They have really good customer service and everyone is polite. I live 35 minutes away and have the option to go somewhere closer, but I choose to stay at this office because I know what Kind of service I’m going to receive.

Similar to Kendall’s review, I felt scammed by this place. I was searching for a new dentist after just moving and needed a yearly cleaning. This place had great reviews and I was really looking forward to getting my teeth cleaned and feeling fresh. I was shocked when they tested my gums and said I had severe gingivitis and I needed additional treatment during the cleaning to prevent my gums from rotting. I felt immense pressure to go through with the services - even though after getting a second opinion they had no major concerns or additional treatments to recommend. I have never had such issues with my mouth but this place made it seem severe and urgent urgent and in turn added hundreds to my bill. I am lucky to be covered by insurance but they charged $80-100 for oral hygiene instructions! They DID NOT make me aware of this charge before proceeding to teach me “how to brush and floss,” mind you in a very condescending tone, and proceeded to add this to my bill. I know new patient appointments can take extra time but my appointment took over 2 and a half hours. They didn’t apply fluoride - which I paid for - and instead sent me home to apply it myself because they closed in 15 minutes and the DR had other patients to finish with. I left in the most pain of my life from the flossing job they did, it was a waste of money and almost 3 hours of my time, and I still needed to deal with the fluoride at home. I would not go here for a simple check up / yearly cleaning - maybe a second appointment would have gone smoother but it’s not worth the risk. If you’re a new patient here - good luck.

Dr. Ochoa has been fantastic and I've received nothing but excellent care and consideration from all of the staff. They have evaluated my dental experience.

A very anxious patient! I was attended to by Dr Tina Tofighi on October 3rd. Dr Tofighi was very calming and explained each procedure ahead of time. She was gentle and deliberate. I will be back in 6 months with a smile on my face.

I met with Dr. Tofighi for the first time this week, and she is very thorough and gentle. I have some dentist anxiety, and she immediately put me at ease. It's easy to see that she cares about her patients!

I had my cleaning and cavities taken care of recently. The staff is friendly and so are the doctors. I trust their recommendations and I keep coming back!

Best dentist ever, amazing staff!
