I find their business to be kind of shady. My previous dentist stopped taking my insurance, so I was on hunt for new one. Came across this practice and decided to schedule an appt after calling to confirm they take my insurance which was affirmed. You can’t make an appt for a cleaning immediately. You have to come in for an exam and X-rays before they book a cleaning (annoying). Went in for the exam, cost me $66 ish for the exam and X-rays (no biggie) received a quote that the cleaning under my insurance would be $47. Came in 2 weeks later for the cleaning, confirmed at the appt that all items that were going to take place were in the quote for $47 (cool). I go to checkout and the front desk says we just called your insurance and it looks like you owe $195 and my insurance was not accepted at their office. EVERY doctor appt I have ever been to, calls my insurance BEFORE the appt to confirm cost of coverage and what I’d owe. Fast forward and I receive the official bill and it is over $350. I WOULD NEVER HAVE GONE TO THIS OFFICE IF I WAS GOING TO OWE MORE THAN WHAT MY OLD OFFICE WAS CHARGING FOR A CLEANING OUT OF POCKET. Shady shady shady

I needed to remove a very old crown and get a new one in. Dr. Maggie did an amazing job not only saved my tooth which had a lot of cavity after 20 years under crown but the whole process happened so smooth and fast that I couldn’t believe it when they said you’re done. Didn’t feel even a pinch of the needle, She used a special scanner for molding and didn’t put any gummy stuff in my mouth to cause gagging, no pain and before I knew it I had a temporary crown installed in my moth and walked out.

We have been going to Modern Family Dentistry of Oak Hill for about 6 years. We absolutely love them! Dr. Maggie is wonderful with our kids, and they have been going to her since they were teeny. Dr. Benjamin Sharfae also does great work. They are a power couple! Great beside manner, super friendly, and outstanding at their jobs. The front desk staff are super friendly, and they work hard to reschedule appointments or work us into the schedule when needed. The hygienists are top notch, too. I highly recommend this practice for kids and adults alike. Oh, and I didn't even mention the coffee and massage chair in the waiting room! Add WIFI, and it makes for a mini-spa experience while I'm waiting for my kiddos to get their check-ups done! In times of COVID, the practice has gone above and beyond the safety recommendations. I was very nervous to come to the office during the pandemic, but I was so assured that I made appointments for my 3 kids after mine was done with such rigorous safety protocols in place everywhere. I highly recommend Modern Family Dentistry.

I’ve been using Modern Family Dentistry since I moved to Austin 15 years ago. I always have a great experience at this place. I usually see Dr Benjamin but both dentists are super nice, professional, and knowledgeable, and they do their best to make a rather unpleasant experience as good as it can be. And the hygienist, Lina… she is just fabulous! Very thorough and professional. But also just very caring and takes a genuine interest in her patients. I hope she stays with this practice forever!

Great place!! During the peak of the pandemic, I couldn't go to my previous dentist (not Modern Family Dentistry). Things got bad. However, I decided to restart my dentist visits after I was vaccinated assuming all providers would surely be vaccinated. To my shock, they were not. This is when I switched to Modern Family Dentistry they were the only office in South Austin where all the hygienists and docs were vaccinated. I love their cleanliness. I love the fact that they call me in case they are running late. Been very happy with them!!
