About Fiddlehead Dental
Fiddlehead Dental: A Family-Oriented Dental Practice
Fiddlehead Dental is a family-owned dental practice that specializes in cosmetic dentistry. Located in St. Albans City, Vermont, the business offers dental services such as whitening, bite correction, tooth reshaping, crowns, implants, and fillings. The practice is open from Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The dental practice has a team of professional, conscientious, and highly knowledgeable staff who provide excellent care to their patients. The dentists, Dr. Chuck and Dr. Lynda, along with their hygienists, technicians, and office staff, treat their patients like family. They are approachable, easy to talk to, and provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to their clients.
One of the things that set Fiddlehead Dental apart from other dental practices is their family-oriented approach to dental care. Patients are greeted by name, and the staff takes the time to get to know their patients and their families. They take a team approach to treating dental problems and provide a detailed explanation of the dental problem and the available options to resolve them.
While most of the reviews are positive, there are a few negative ones. One review mentioned that the office manager was rude and unkind when the patient had to cancel their appointment due to a family emergency. Another review mentioned that the patient lost three teeth after having dental work done at the practice. However, these negative reviews are outweighed by the positive ones, which praise the practice's professionalism, friendliness, and expertise.
In summary, Fiddlehead Dental is a family-oriented dental practice that provides excellent care to their patients. Their team of professional, knowledgeable, and friendly staff makes the dental experience comfortable and enjoyable. If you are looking for a dental practice that treats you like family, Fiddlehead Dental is the place to go.

If I could give Fiddlehead Family Dentistry more than 5 stars, I would!
I have had the pleasure of receiving extensive cosmetic and functional dental work from the Fiddlehead folks in 2020, and recently in late February, 2023. Yeah, people rarely describe dental work as pleasurable, but that was my experience both visits, pleasurable and very effective. These procedures included whitening, bite correction, tooth reshaping, several crowns both front and back including an implant supported crown, detailed dental health diagnostics, a deep cleaning, a few filling replacements, and other stuff. Every single person I encountered at their office was professional, conscientious, and highly if not uniquely knowledgeable. I always felt I was in the hands of a master of their craft. Aftercare and follow-up has also been above and beyond.
After I left their office, I received numerous casual comments on my newly sparkling smile. This is particularly gratifying as I am a public speaker of some notoriety. I am also totally blind, so it is by others’ reactions that I am made aware of just how striking my new smile is, although my teeth do feel better now than I can remember.
Perhaps the most telling comment came from my brother whose vision is severely impaired. As we sat with family around a table playing a game, my brother, who was distracted by concentrating to read his own dice, chanced to glance in my direction. The sun must have glinted just then on my face or something, because he exclaimed quite uncharacteristically, “They really did a job on your teeth.” For my brother first to notice such a detail, and then to bother pointing it out, indicated definitively that the many hours I spent in the chair were worth every moment.
I can’t recommend Fiddlehead Family Dentistry highly enough!

We love our Fiddlehead Family! They have taken care of our children's dental needs since they were infants. They provide excellent care and beautiful restorative work. If you know my son, you can check out his beautiful smile with his new front tooth. #hockeykids

Funny, I just heard about this story about Kathy at Fiddlehead just this morning! And then I just saw a review posted about it, strange. Word gets around in this little town. It is unfortunate what Kathy did to that family over 40 dollars. We don't go to Fiddlehead anymore either, but only because Kathy was just plain rude, and no one did anything to stop her cranky attitude. So we just found another dentist where we we are now much happier. The dentists were great though, but sometimes the front office staff plays an even bigger role than the dentist.
Unfortunately, I do not have a positive review to share. However, I did feel that it was important for the public to be aware of. I shared this experience with other parents already, and they were just as appalled as I was. Fiddlehead claims to be a family owned, family oriented business... I disagree. A year ago my family had a situation that needed immediate attention on the same day that we scheduled two of our children for dentist appointments. When I called to cancel our appointments, Kathy the office manager was very irritated with the cancellation. She told me there would be a $40 charge per appointment cancelled. I asked her to have mercy, and she reluctantly waved the fees. And year later today, two more of my children had a dentist appointment again, but this day we had a family emergency in reguards to my daughter. My family was in a panic, and so my sister called Fiddlehead. She spoke to Kathy. She told Kathy we had a family emergency and that my sister was watching my other children, and to please cancel the appointments. My sister said Kathy was nasty to her, and that I may want to call myself. So i picked up the phone quickly and explained the emergency. Kathy indeed was very unkind, and reminded me that she already cancelled for me once before, A YEAR PRIOR! I reminded Kathy that in two years, with 6 children & two adults, we canceled ONCE. She told me I would still be charged the $40 cancellation fee for both children if i canceled. To think that I was actually suppose to take my children to the dentist while I had a family emergency??? I was completely disgusted. I asked to speak to a manager. She said SHE was the manager! So I told her to take the $80 if Fiddlehead needed the money that badly, and that she will never see my family again. Needless to say, my daughter is OK, but I could never trust Fiddlehead Dentistry again. I hope everyone has a better experience than we did, but I would suggest not putting your family or your money, in the hand

“I love going to the dentist”…….says hardly anyone, ever. However, in the case of myself and my three young adult children, it is one hundred percent true!
Fiddlehead Family Dental operates as a family. For as long as we’ve been patients (well over a decade!), every member of their team has treated every one of us as their own. When I walk in, I’m greeted by name. When I’m in a cleaning, quite often I’ll be greeted by one or more of the other employees who I haven’t seen in a while. I can always expect a great chat with Dr Linda or Dr Chuck, where we talk about our families and not my oral hygiene (unless we also need to talk about my oral hygiene!).
I currently live over an hour away from the office since moving out of Vermont, but I don’t have one good reason to find a different dental office.
And I don’t believe for one minute that I’ll ever need to. You won’t find a more family focused, friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy organization than Fiddlehead Family Dental.

Bottom line up front; I DO NOT like going to the dentist. I was faced with a recent transition to Fiddlehead and I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone on the staff had a smile on their face and were very welcoming. It really feels like a family and home when you walk into the old hillside home in downtown Saint Albans. It’s like you were always welcome. My hygienist was lovely and kept me engaged during my visit. Lastly, kudos to the team behind the scenes in managing my dental insurance provider, that is not an easy task. Cheers to the good people at Fiddlehead and my new “canine” family!

Fiddlehead is simply the best! If you are looking for a comfortable, friendly, inviting atmosphere then this is your place! Dr. Chuck has the best demeanor, making your time in the chair more enjoyable. He has a natural way of easing my dental anxiety which I truly appreciate. All of the hygienists are amazing - having personally seen Sam & Candi, I have been impressed every time. The team up front is always so helpful & friendly, taking the time to answer any questions & help with insurance. Fiddlehead is the epitome of the idyllic small town practice with the huge heart!

I am now missing three teeth that were not in pain when I walked into thier office. During preparation for the three crowns I had allowed them to perform they had hit the pulp on each and had not told me. Trauma and pain was from an unknown source until while I had temporary's on two she threw the towel in and sent me elsewhere where they took an image of the exposed pulp when they removed the temporary.
The initial tooth that she placed a crown on has now after a year broken completely off. The trauma to the nerve from the exposed pulp caused need for a root canal through that crown, causing it to break.
I paid for all three less than 3 yrs ago and no longer have any of them in my mouth and am going through the process of restoration of these.
I walked into her office with these three teeth in tact and no pain, and at the end of the day the loss of 3 teeth, pain, and $15,000 less than when I walked in, with the anticipated additional costs of at least $12,000 for the implants that will be needed (one of which is requiring a nasal lift surgery).
Thanks Linda.

As a patient of Fiddlehead Dental, I’m always impressed by the warmth and friendly atmosphere of the office. Dr. Chuck and Dr. Lynda, along with all of the staff, are always so welcoming, professional, and considerate. They are passionate about providing dental care to those in need, and are approachable and so easy to talk to.
As a teenager I wore braces, but as I’ve aged my teeth had begun to shift. As a result, I’d become self conscious of my smile. I found I was smiling less, or would keep my mouth closed so as not to reveal my teeth. On a routine visit with Tiffany, one of the dental hygienists, I mentioned my desire to learn more about clear aligners to help improve my smile. Tiffany brought Dr. Lynda right over to talk to me and gave me a bunch of information. Before I knew it we had a plan and scheduled appointments. I was thrilled! I am so pleased with the results. Now, I love my smile. I’m grateful to have such a wonderful team of dentists and hygienists that truly care about my oral health and dental needs. If you’re looking for a dentist, I would highly recommend Fiddlehead Dental.

I've never had a bad experience going here for my dental care. The staff is warm and welcoming, and there is distinct family feel to the atmosphere that is incredibly rare in a healthcare setting. Some dentist offices judge or lecture their patients, but I've never encountered that here. They take a team approach to treating what is wrong, and each patient is looked at as a person and not just a clinical case. I used to go to a dentist closer to home, but I found Fiddlehead and the extra travel is something I've never regretted. For those of you who can't stand the dentist, Fiddlehead is your answer to that problem.

Dr. Lynda, Dr. Chuck and their staff are amazing. Best family dentistry in VERMONT! The doctors, hygienist, and technicians are highly skilled, professional, GENTLE :) and friendly! Dr. Lynda even saw my daughter for a dental emergency when the office was closed. The office is also very helpful when dealing with insurance companies, workman's comp claims and anything billing related. My family and I wont go anywhere else!

I changed over to Fiddlehead earlier this year for several reasons. I was very happy with my change . The people are friendly helpful and courteous. Also I have not had to wait for my appointment time or if so a short amount of time. Most importantly they do a great job and spend time explaining my dental problem and options that I have to resolve them .

It is very rare for everyone in the office including the dentist to want to know all the details of your life. It is even more rare for them all to remember and pick up where you left off 6 months later like you were there yesterday. For some people going to the dentist is a something to avoid doing, for us it is like going to visit family. Everyone is so upbeat, pleasant and happy, we have never had a bad experience in the few years we have been going. Dr. Chuck and Dr. Linda have been both upfront and honest with there recommendations without making you feel pressured. You leave the office with warm fuzzies about having your teeth cleaned.
