After 5+ years as a patient, I will NOT be returning to this dentist. At my last dental cleaning, the dentist humiliated me for having more than usual tartar build up. I explained to the dentist that at my last cleaning, he told me I would need gum graft surgery if I didn't stop brushing with as much pressure as I was using. And as someone with a traumatic dental history, that is a threat if there ever was one. Apparently, I was brushing TOO softly for the last ~6mos leading to more than usual tartar. Instead of gently giving this feedback, the dentist accused me of not flossing and brushing, despite my reassurance that I was. Then, he directly questioned my health literacy. The dentist made a reference to him being the "bad guy" and warned me how painful the tartar scraping would be ! I told him he was making me nervous, and he insisted that he was "joking around." He told me that I would be happier as a patient who thought the procedure would be more painful than it really was. Mind you, he spent approximately 3 entire minutes (eye roll) cleaning my teeth with no abnormal tartar scraping method to my knowledge. He then attempted to "ensure" I would purchase an electronic toothbrush, knowing nothing about my means to obtain an electronic toothbrush. There was no winning for me with this dentist. After this fiasco, he nonchalantly said oh yeah by the way you don't have any cavities. I would be terrified of the rath that would come from this dentist had I actually had a cavity, for heaven's sakes! I'm all about a reality check for your patient but there is certainly an appropriate, professional way to deliver your feedback, and this WAS NOT IT.

WORST DENTIST EVER!!I f I could leave no stars, I would. I know I do not have perfect teeth, but you would think after 28 years and I have yet to change them, that someone with common sense would assume I wouldn't want to. Or ask in a nicer more appropriate way if I wanted to. My first and ONLY time here, the primary dentist took a mirror out to show me my teeth, telling me to look at them and see if I wanted to changed anything. AFTER I TOLD HIM TWICE that I did not want to change anything. Then brought out the mirror. Also, when he asked what medication I am on, I told him it was for depression and anxiety. He then made a RUDE and INAPPROPRIATE comment about how maybe my move was what led me to depression .... like are you kidding me? SO insensitive!! I do not recommend him AT ALL. Complete inappropriate, rude, insensitive human. DO NOT RECCOMEND.

Do not go here. I first signed up with this practice in 2018 because I was having dental pain.
1) They did 2 root canals incorrectly instead of refering me to an endodontist that I'm now having pain in years later.
2)The crown they put on one broke within 6 months and they refused to fix it.
3) They mislabeled my chart and accidentally left a root inside of my gumline when they did an extraction for a molar. It got infected and they charged me to fix it.
4) I paid $300 up front for their, "insurance" and $50/month for years after that. They refused me even routine care during that time and i never received even so much as a cleaning because i hadn't paid off my main balance, even though i was on a payment plan THEY agreed to and made every payment on time.
5) I have vertigo and they refused to give me something to pad my neck and lay me back slowly until the spinning sensation passed then again refused treatment until i, "resolved the issue" even though i was in pain. Charged me $120 every time i went in to try through.
I was swindled out of THOUSANDS of dollars and will likely be filing a medical negligence and malpractice suit once an endodontist(referred to by my new dentist who saw x-rays of the root canals and was horrified at the botched job) can confirm.

Very fast, efficient, kind and informative staff. They gave me an affordable and thorough treatment plan when all other dentists I'd visited before said they could do little to nothing for me.

Excellent practice, staff, and dentist To be honest I am a big wimp in the dental chair due to sensitive teeth. Cleanings can therefore be painful. Now I won't lie and say there was NO pain here BUT this was the least amount of cleaning pain... They pre-treated my teeth with sensitivity floride before the cleaning which seems to be a BIG help! All staff are VERY helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The equipment and office setting are state of the art. LOVE this practice. If you are like I was, trying to pick a new dentist based on Google reviews... These GREAT reviews are a true representation of what you will find here.
Update: 6 months later I returned for my second appointment and I just want to say... It was the same AWESOME experience and crew. From the front desk helpfulness to the hygienist expertise and the very friendly, unhurried and knowledgeable dentist... All get an A++++++! I LOVE this practice! And again I can't say enough about how little pain I experienced with cleaning!
Update - Summer 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic Review: Doctor Al and the staff continue to be awesome despite the tremendous changes required for the dental industry. The routine now is: fill out online forms before your appointment - then one more online when you arrive to the the parking lot from your car to be sure you still have no symptoms of Covid. You wait in your car until called (my wait was SHORT!). Check in is a quick touch-less temperature check, then you are escorted right to your dental chair. The staff are masked and in washable dental jackets. All of this is for the patient's safety and the staff so they can continue to give the SAME GREAT SERVICE! And yes - still after going here for YEARS now- it's the same kind, knowledgeable staff, and one of my favorites dentists i have ever had! Great work as always team - thanks for keeping my smile in "check!" :)
YET another Great review for Dr. Al and all of the staff at BRFD. These guys are amazing and k

I had a fabulous experience with Dr. Almzayyen and his team! I unfortunately had a dental accident over the weekend and no dentists were open over the weekend, so I left a voicemail. Kathy got right back to me Monday morning and squeezed me into their soonest appointment. It was incredible. Everyone was so nice and genuinely made the whole experience seamless and calm. They care and it shows! All around, just a good bunch of people.

I’ve never had a better experience at the dentist! I highly recommend Blue Ridge.
I just left from my 1st appointment with Blue Ridge family dentistry. The staff is amazing, everyone is beyond professional and friendly, even when I felt I was being a little difficult on the phone. The doctor seems very knowledgeable and is very straightforward, I am very comfortable going to him for my dental work. Candyce was a ray of sunshine and I have never enjoyed a cleaning more. Nor have I ever learned more from a cleaning than I did today. I can't believe that I actually ENJOYED the dentist for once. Can't wait to go back!
Edit: Candyce even gave me "swallow breaks" without me having to ask which is a big deal cause I nervously swallow lol. She is so accommodating and makes you feel comfortable.

Awesome awesome awesome place! Clean and tech savvy, friendly and informative staff! I’ve only been for a cleaning and consult so far. I was blown away by how great everyone treated me, the info clips on the IPADs and the massage chairs during my cleaning. Everyone is very knowledgeable and explains exactly what is happening and give you options so that you can make the best choice for you. I highly recommend Dr. Al and his whole team!
Caring, compassionate and beyond accommodating to help those of us who are fearful of going to the dentist feel safe and relaxed. Dr. Al explains each option and procedure in detail so you can make a fully informed decision on how to move forward. All of his staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for.

The ladies at the front desk, and the hygienists at this practice were wonderful. My routine check up, assessment and cleanings always went well. However, I, my insurance company, and my current dentist are deeply disappointed as well as confused by this dental practice and concerned for future patients who might run into the problem that I have today. This dentist does not stand behind his work. He does not give a warranty on his dental work, or repair broken crowns under a discount if they break within less that one year. Which is what happened to me. He has refused to repair a crown that he put on my back molar 11 months ago. It cracked and broke off after less than one year. He has claimed that when he placed the crown he “told me to wear a night guard, and referred me to a TMJ specialist”, however my dental records show that this was not the case. He referred me several months later and I have that in writing. If I had been properly educated on how poor quality, fragile, and delicate the crown he placed was, I would have never gotten it done at this practice, or requested a more appropriate crown for someone who clenches their jaw. My new dentist has explained to me that when placing a crown, a dentist must assess many things, one being whether the patient grinds their teeth and which crown would be best for the kind of pressure that your bite will put on it. The dentist here at Blueridge chose to put on a “same day appointment” crown that is made in the office, which I now know are weaker and more likely to crack. The crown has been cracked off and broken for 5 days now, and Blueridge Family Dental offered to repair the crown they placed in “a few weeks if they can squeeze me in”, at full price (over $1,000 when I paid for it 11 months ago already). My new dentist is fitting me in tomorrow to repair my crown WITH A WARRANTY. In addition, they are placing a crown that is much stronger, better quality, and more appropriate for my personal jaw and bite. They hav

Looking for a new dentist, I chose Blue Ridge because of the proximity to my home. I am a new patient but, so far, I give them 5 stars. I really like Dr Almzayyen and Stephanie, the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. Everyone made me feel very comfortable.
