Their dad made my first denture and it lasted for years. Granted dentures made today are different, this one feels like it's going last, like my first.
I was foolish enough to go to Aspen when my first denture started to fail after 40+ years. They showed me a list of dentures and pricing they would do. I got the cheap one, what a mistake!!! $400 and by the time it was 1 1/4 years old the teeth started falling off, by the time it was 1 3/4 years old it just broke in half!!! It also had been reclined at 1 year. That fell off right away.
This time I did my do diligence and actively looked for Dr. Kappenman's kids. I found Dr. Jay and he was very much like his father. When we discussed what we would do, he never once told me the only way he would make my upper plate was if he would pull all my lower teeth. That was the only way Aspen was going to sell me a better upper dentures.
Dr. Jay and I have a lot more to do with my teeth but we are going at my pace and at what I can afford.
But for now I have a great denture, that was very comfortable from day one. It felt like a old friend came back.

I'm very dental skittish but I had to have an ugly tooth pulled. They pulled it so painlessly and quickly I wasn't actually sure he had pulled it yet.
Needless to say it's where I decided to take my son. His first visit was so much fun he's been playing "tooth Dr." all afternoon. Who knew teddy bears could brush their teeth? Thank you guys for making the dentist a little less scary.

Went for my first dental exam after being traumatized by my previous experience 2 years ago and DEFINITELY recommend Kappenman Dental!! I mentioned to my hygienist that I was a bit anxious and without further mention she offered COMPLIMENTARY nitrous oxide (a 40$ charge at previous offices). Knowing my comfort level was amongst their priorities made my anxiety lessen as well as the nitrous. My hygienist was thorough and gentle and kind!

I did not have a good experience with Kappenman Family Dentistry in 2017. I came in as a new customer who moved to Sioux Falls for work. I knew I had a cavity and was open about it before seeing the dentist. My teeth were cleaned and before having the cavity filled I was asked if I wanted a white filling over the traditional silver filling. It was explained that on top of my insurance coverage, it would “only cost about $25-$35, at most,” for the white filling. I thought that was great and agreed to the white filling.
A month later I received a bill in the mail for $88, and a couple weeks after that I received another bill for $92. I was very upset and felt that I’d been lied to and that I was treated as a customer and not a person who has 50 other bills to pay.
Months later when I called to switch to a new dentist I was spoken to in a rude voice and was told “They’re just up the street from us,” twice.
I found a better dental experience elsewhere.

I had broken some teeth thirtyish years ago (hilarious story) and the repairs had not aged well. After several recent years of health issues, finally got the opportunity to have them worked on at Kappenmen's and the results could not be better. Actually made me cry twice,and I think of myself as a strong individual. The care, the concern, the personal touch that they showed, words cannot describe the impact they had on me.
More work with broken old cavity tooth, CAN NOT stress how GREAT this group of wonderful professionals is. They are a blessing
