I’ve been going to the Bartlett location of AFD on a regular basis for over 10 years and have never had a bad experience. The staff are always friendly and make you feel very comfortable. I feel that they do a very thorough and careful job of cleaning my teeth. And they explain your dental situation in a way that doesn’t cause you to feel shame or anxiety. Going to the dentist can seem daunting, but I never dread going here.

I’ve been going to AFD Bartlett location (hwy 64) for several years and I’ve never experienced anything close to what happened on March 1, 2023. I made an appointment several days in advance to have my permanent crown put back on because it fell off unexpectedly right before a planned trip on March 2. At my early morning appointment I was told that I need to go ahead and get a new permanent crown which is not a problem. It could not be done that day. In the mean time their dentist solution was to have the dental assistant put back on my old permanent crown with temporary adhesive which I explained would not work and that I needed something to work (permanent adhesive) because I would be traveling. X-ray was done. No infection. No damage to my tooth or to the crown. The only solution I was given was to go to the store and get fixodent in case it came off while I was out of town. When I saw the Dentist she was rushed and never actually looked in my mouth herself. She never gave me a medical informative reason as to why this plan of care was the only option using a temporary adhesive which I knew would not work. I was told wait 1 hour before eating or drinking. I waited over 3 hours. First soft food I put in my mouth the crown came off. It took a very long time to get in touch with them again on that day. Finally, I was told it was nothing they could do that day because their schedule is busy. I offered to come in and wait to be seen last for the day. I was told it didn’t matter and I would not be able to be seen because they were too busy. I was also told the Dentist would only use the temporary adhesive again anyway. This was a waste of my time. This was a very poor experience and the Dentist did not take the time herself to give me a medical explanation as to why there was a hard stop to use only temporary adhesive even though she knew I would be traveling the next day and was going to address the bigger plan of getting a new crown when I returned to town. This was a very poor experience and is not acceptable behavior from a Medical Professional.
