What an amazing place. From the front desk, to the hygienists, to the dentist, everyone is amazing. It’s a super laid back atmosphere and they really care about your dental health. You don’t feel rushed at all. I’ve never really felt like I had a dentist I wanted to keep going to, but now I do. Dr Southwell and her team are the best.

I was so excited to try this dental practice based on reviews. Unfortunately it was one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever experienced in a medical experience. The front office did not properly schedule my appointments. They also failed to contact me about an office closure. I came in for one of my two appointments and the hygienist informed me what was scheduled. Which was not what I was told would be scheduled. At no point did I tell or ask anyone what to schedule when. I was advised that my dental work would be compl
in two appointments with half happening on a Monday and the other half finishing that Friday.

At the Monday appointment when I was advised of the mishap I was also informed that not all of the work was scheduled and so some of the work was left off and unscheduled all together.

I suggested rescheduling so that they could properly schedule everything and we could make sure things were all scheduled properly.

She said she would get it corrected and everything could be done as I was originally told. When the dentist arrived the hygienist informed her that I wanted to add on work to complete that day. As though I was being demanding or difficult. I clarified and explained what happened and again offered to reschedule. Dr. Southwell said they could make it work. Although still no one took accountability or apologized for the error. They reassured they could get it done and I would come back Friday to complete my work.

When we finished, and I was walking back to the front the dentist informed me they were closed Friday. Even after reassuring me that I would get my work finished Friday just before they began working and after I offered to reschedule I was not told they were closed and promised something that knew could not occur.

The hygienist took me to the front desk and spoke with the receptionist about rescheduling me for the following week. They talked back and forth and after a few minutes the hygienist said she would call me to reschedule.

As I made it to my car I got a text that an appointment was scheduled for me - without anyone checking to confirm my availability or anything - for several weeks later.

I called immediately and asked to have the appointment cancelled because I didn’t think that was appropriate. I asked for a call back from the office manager or the dentist. They said the office manager was only there on Fridays meaning I would have to wait 2 weeks for a call. I asked if it would be possible for the dentist to call. They said they would leave a note.

I never received that call.

Yesterday, I got a call about my children’s upcoming appointment and I requested to have it canceled. The person asked why I explained what occurred. They apologized (the only person there to do so). I told them I’d found another dentist. They asked me if I would be willing to speak with someone. I said I’d asked for a call back over a week before and never received it. She said she would leave a note.

Today I got a call from the receptionist and I explained that I’d asked for a call from the office manager or the dentist. She said the office manager didn’t get in until tomorrow. I said that’s fine.

A few minutes later the dentist called. I began explaining what happened. She cut me off and said she had patients. I reminded her that I was one of them as well too. She then proceeded to suggest I lied about things and that there was no hygienist present when there was. She added that I was difficult. I said that I can’t be difficult if the office makes errors and no one owns up to them. She hung up in my face after weaponizing God to do so in a very typical southern fashion.

I want to be clear. I was not aggressive. I did not yell. I called to address what occurred with someone in management to make them aware. I explained this to Dr. Southwell before she called me a difficult patient.

I’m disappointed and saddened that this experience occurred. I truly hoped that decency and common sense would prevail.

From the front desk all the way to Dr. Southwell I have never been treated better. Everyone was so extremely nice the last dentist I went too I left in tears and not due to pain today I left excited to find a new dentist!

Awesome experience! Everything from when I called to make an appointment to the end of my first visit! I made my appointment last week and was so happy to find out they were able to get me in as a new patient today! I was able to save time by filling out some of the paperwork they sent me ahead of time. I got my tooth x-ray, examination, and treatment done in one visit. I was in and out in an hour. Darrius and Dr. Southwell made me feel so comfortable and made sure I knew exactly what the problem was and what needed to be done. Very professional! Definitely will be back for future preventative visits. I highly recommend!

The office staff is very nice and the customer service is great and all but they completely messed my mouth up. I had 2 fillings done by them in October . Even after a month of me having them my teeth were super sensitive but I was on tenncare and about to turn 21 so I don’t know if that’s why I got half treatment but it’s now July and I’m having to get those two teeth extracted. It’s definitely saddening to me because I don’t want that so this review is more for the office than people. Please do better when it comes to doing fillings or just anything in general to peoples mouth.

The front person is the nicest and most helpful person ever, really enjoy going there and being greeted by her! Ya’ll should definitely give her a raise! Everybody there is so nice, love the service, definitely staying with this group, and would recommend.

I have always had a fear of dentists and at 32 years old, the last time I saw a dentist, I was 13. All the way from talking on the phone and scheduling, to the very end of my root canal being done, they made me feel extremely comfortable. The entire staff from receptionist to Dr. Southwell we’re extremely professional and even more so personable.

The receptionist came into my room and went over the payment options that I had and showed me what my insurance was paying and what my out of pocket would be. She even told me that they could do an application for carecredit if I wanted them to.

Dr.southwell gave me multiple options to choose from and explained each one in detail. She answered my questions and was not at all short in her responses. She was mindful of my comfort and pain levels by watching the expression on my face and would ask if something hurt or not. If it did, she would stop and add more numbing. She explained what she was doing while she did it.

I would recommend Dr.southwell and her staff to anyone who was looking for an amazing dentist who destroys the villainous stigma of dentists and makes you want to get your teeth cleaned regularly.
Also, while they work on your teeth, there is a flat screen tv in the room for you to watch. They have Netflix for your viewing/distraction. Over all, a great experience.

I drove here from West Nashville because it’s worth the drive! Not only is the office so calming, but Dr. Southwell is so patient, kind, and knowledgeable. After coming here I immediately cancelled my kids’ appointment with another dentist and rescheduled for Dr. Southwell.

Called and spoke to Linda, who answers the phones for Acacia Dental Group on Friday 6/8/18, explained I have a small hole in a left upper Incisor at the gum line, told her I am a senior and Medicare does not help me on dental at all, and I have to watch every penny, what would be an estimate of the cost to repair that tooth. She said be at their office at 10:10 today, Saturday 6/9/18, ask for Dianne, and they will look at the tooth and a guess on the cost would be $50.00 to $80.00, but don't hold her to that, could be more. I was excited, and got up early and arrived at 10:10 AM today, 6/9/18. The receptionist said, the X-Ray they would do would be $50.00, other places charge $19.00, the visit just to be seen would be $100.00 and the one filling could be about $300.00, and the doctor would not see me at all, so I was indeed disappointed. They suggested I go to a low income doctor for people like myself. Really, could the doctor have not taken 5 minutes to just look at the tooth or speak to me, NO, she chose not to but had the receptionist send me away. So what was to be about $50.00 to $100.00 was really $450.00, and please let me add, there was not one single person in the office at Acacial Dental Group waiting room at 10:10 AM this Saturday morning at 10:01 AM, June 9th, 2018.
