My family has been seeing him for a few years. He's a no-nonsense dentist who does not recommend beyond what is actually needed. That is the type of dentist we prefer! Staff are friendly and personable as well.

Terrible ! Takes advantage of your insurance especially the VA - Insured and Veterans do your research and choose to travel out if you can , went in for one minor thing and he completely drilled a different tooth, went back in and they had much attitude! Now there are additional problems with teeth that were not present prior to seeing him. Carries on conversation with assistant while damaging your teeth, No bedside manor and No empathy for patients.
Will not go back !!!!!! Very very disappointed and upset !

I had a crown place in Feb 2018 and apparently it was done really poorly. Both the endontist and dentist were shocked. Because of how misaligned it was the teeth on each side have decayed significantly. Not only do I need a new crown, I needed two root canals, two crown and a filling. I’m beyond appalled by the terribly dentistry.

I have been with Dr Ruhnke for over 25 years. I live in the Rio Grande Valley and travel 2 hrs just to see him. I don’t trust anyone else. His staff is kind and so helpful. The Doctor himself cares so much for his patients. I would so highly recommend him.

Went to this dentist for a toothache on my right side. Back in Oct of 2017 at that time he told me that I had a very small cavity and he thought It was my sinus and that I had an infection. Went back in Fed 2018 to let him know that It still hurt...(ON MY RIGHT SIDE OF MY FACE). While I was in the dentist chair he told me that I had a Sm. Cavity on my Left Side what did I want to do. Told him fix it since I am here already. WELL, he started drilling on my LEFT SIDE and I could smelled burning, I stop him and ask him why it smelt that way it told NOT to worry, He then went on to my RIGHT side and said he ''HE HAD PUT A FILLIN ON BOTH SIDE"
FROM then on I was in so Much Pain, FROM THE LEFT SIDE, week goes by still in Pain, Call him, they tell me to go in and I do gives me Pain Med. and antibiotics next week, Still In Pain called him again, this time he prescribed Steroids (don't know why)....Still in pain from my left side of face. 3rd week..Call him again let him know that I am in pain. They tell me that I need to see someone else!!!! that I needed a Root Canal on MY LEFT SIDE!! .When I do go see another Dentist...He told me that Ruhnke had Broken my tooth and burned my Nerve on my LEFT SIDE AND HE didn't fix the one on the RIGHT SIDE (THE ORINGINAL ONE). Soo not only that he took everything from my insurance!!. Now it is all out of pocket that I have to pay to fix my teeth!!! NOOT a Good Dentist!!
