Rockwall Modern Dentistry and Orthodontics

New patient here- Came in. Lady at the front desk said she already had my insurance pulled. Filled out the normal paperwork on a computer and sat down. Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes while watching patients come and go. When I approached the lady at the desk asking why I had to wait so long, she gave me the most incredulous look asking me if I had been taken back. No, I had not and I refused to wait any longer to see a doc for a consultation. Too many other places in the area to receive services that hopefully provide better customer service.
I should have heeded the poor reviews before making an appointment with this place.

Do not go here for ortho treatments, they are dishonest, and extremely disorganized. The incompetence of the current orthodontist is actually scary, I was asked to call my GP for a prescription because he could not figure out how to go around an allergy. They have 1 orthodontist one day per week, it makes scheduling next to impossible. Appts have been up to an hour (should take 20-30 mins. ) They have had multiple orthodontist since I started my treatment. I was released from my contract and they continued to charge my account and multiple times said that they would no longer be charging me.
The list goes on and on.

Dr Steiger was great and patient with me. Marley is the best hygienist I have seen.

Third time I have come to Rockwall Modern Dentistry and I am more impressed each time. The check-in is easy, communication before/after appointments are great, and my hygentist Jennifer is FANTASTIC. Going to the dentist can be intimidating but the team here makes it so comfortable.

This office is great. Dr. On is the best and everyone there has been professional and thorough. During Covid, with limited appointments, clean office and precautions are being taken to keep us safe! Love this place for the leader in my dental plan.

My husband had to have one root canal in October and it's January 6th right now. He is just now getting his crown put on. They have charged us every single time we have walked in the door for one single tooth and for their own mistakes. They put a temporary crown on while they ordered the permanent one (normal and expected) we paid $400 that day for them to drill and put a temp on (with insurance). Next time we came in they said the permanent one wasn't in yet (when they said it would be in in a week) they had to put a temp on again and for him to come back (charged us again $600+) this is with insurance. This one tooth cost us over $1,300. And has gone up every time we have been in. We are now finally paying $100 every month for 4 months as the final price. Either there is a serious communication barrier or they just take advantage of people. The first appointment we had they gave us a bill of what it would cost so we were under the impression that we would have to pay said amount. Not. They come up with new amounts you must pay that we were never told. Not to mention we have waited for 45min+ in the waiting room every time we have an appointment. I guess the appointment time doesn't really matter? Just show up whenever?. 10/10 would not recommend.

I went in for my first visit today and was greeted with a smile and seen within minutes of arrival. I was able to do my medical history online which is great for time management. Dr. Holmes and his staff were very professional, friendly, and put my anxiety at ease very quickly. I thought I was in need of a root canal, but Dr. Holmes said that I wasn't. They gave me options and explained the pros and cons of all of them. We even paused during the procedure to watch a funny segment on Ellen and had a good laugh together. If you're looking for a dentist with your dental health in mind, then I highly recommend Modern Dentistry!

Today, I went to this dentist office cuz I’ve been a regular patient there for a few years and the hygienist Jennifer who’s on the receptionist desk and she interrupts my greeting like she’s mocking my appearance. She has the look, like she put in her two weeks, someone slipped something in her coffee, or shes a heinous broad, that kind of look. After I did an unnecessary amount of signatures, we got to those recliner chairs and I sat on them. Jennifer gave a heart monitor and strapped it to my wrist and lays it over my heart. After the monitor beeped meaning that it’s done, she yanked it off with such force. I don’t even want to do a pep talk with her even though she asked a few questions throughout the procedure. After I did my cleaning, I don’t think I even want to go back there just to do my check ups if she’s still employed there. If there is a collage degree in rudeness, she would have a doctrines instead of a dental degree.

P.S. the dentist there examining my teeth is more professional than Jennifer is.

Best dental experience I've had in years, and definitely the best experience in the Rockwall area. I've been to three other dentist offices in this town and been disappointed every time by over-selling, standoffishness, and stodgy dentists who don't know how to relate to patients. Modern Dentistry was different! They were welcoming, professional, efficient, and friendly. The staff is diverse (nice change from other offices I've been to) and energetic, but not pushy in any fashion. This is my new dentist... finally!

Came in for my cleaning today with Jennifer today, she was great! Great experience! My doctor Dr. Steiger. He was always great and professional, definitely recommend this office!
