Dentists of El Dorado Hills

Came here for a second opinion from my primary provider. Melanie was able to fix my chipped tooth and get the invisalign treatment done for half the price. Would highly recommend this office and my new dentist of choice.

Very poor experience. It appears they make you feel like your teeth are a mess. I also saw very questionable billing practices. I will describe my sequence of events below and allow you to make your own interpretation. They are compared here against a ‘2nd dentist’ I saw 3 weeks later & with whom I did get the work done. I am a 47 year health care professional clinician so I believe I can see acceptable vs. unacceptable practices. However, I do worry about those patients without with my experience for fear that they are subject to be taken advantage of which is why I wrote this.
1. First, they told me I needed endodontics work before placing a crown and referred me to an endodontist with the same last name as the 1st dentist. My 2nd dentist indicated no endodontist work was necessary and placed the crown without it. This seems an apparent unneeded referral and to top it off, perhaps to a family member.
2. They told me my gum score numbers were all 4,5’s and above meaning very bad. The 2nd dentist gave me excellent gum scores of 1,2,3’s and are in line with what I have historically had. I let you decide if you think that 3 weeks later and a change in electric toothbrush can make that much difference.
3. They recommended every 3 month laser cleanings at $80/treatment. The 2nd dentist stated I have some plaque that needs to be cleaned and did so in the one office visit with no laser treatments recommended.
4. They tried to bill me $1,135 copay for the crown. Upon checking with my insurance, my copay should be $395. When I confronted them, they stated they would honor the $395 while asking me for the insurance documentation and said they would get back to me. I then sent that documentation to them, but never heard from them again. All of this even though they told me to get the crown done quickly so it wouldn’t get worse. I learned that they upgraded the crown materials which it is why it was greater the $395 copay but even so it was still $400 more than the 2nd dentist who also upgraded the materials.

Dr. Kim and her staff are awesome. The office is extremely clean and has some of the latest dental tech. I am usually nervous about any dental visit, but Dr. Kim and her team made everything as comfortable as possible. Will definitely be back and recommend anyone looking for a new dentist!

Destiny and all of the staff were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The doctors are all very knowledgeable and make you feel very comfortable. I highly recommend you bring your friends and family to this place! Can’t wait for my next cleaning already!

Dr. Kim and her staff are amazing. I needed to find a new dentist in the area and am sure glad I came here. Will definitely be back for all my dental needs.

Had a great experience with Dr. Melanie Kim and her team. Came in for a routine cleaning/filling and everyone was welcoming and professional. I will be coming here for all my dental needs and will be recommending this office to all of my friends and family in the area.

I am beyond amazed at how kind and gentle Dr. Kim was. Her staff was so friendly and took amazing care of us. Jessie in the front was amazing and all of the dental assistants really helped me with my anxiety. By the end of the day I didn’t feel a thing and I felt really listened to and cared for.

We recently moved to El Dorado Hills from the Santa Rosa area this year, and with Covid and tooth pain I could not see my Dentist in Santa Rosa.

With the grand opening of Safeway in EDH, I walked past Dr Kim's office, took her information and I am very pleased that i made an appointment with her.

This is the third time that I have seen Dr. Kim , and today she installed a crown on a broken tooth. I can honestly say that I experienced no pain during this operation, which is important to me.

Each time I have gone into her office I have been greeted by Jessica. Jessica is a great hire by Dr. Kim, she is very professional and makes you feel at ease.

There are two other staff members that I have met, but afraid that I do not know there names. Today Dr. Kim's assistant who also took my X-rays was so attentive and you could see her confidence that she knows what she was doing. There is another lady who after about a month with making my third appointment knew who I was and was also very welcoming and you can see that Dr. Kim invested her time with hiring good people.

Dr. Kim spent a great deal of time with me today, examination, explanation of options, explanation of financial's, "what she would do", and then she got to work. It is now three hours after my surgery , all numbing has worn off and my new tooth feels great.

I highly recommend Dr. Kim and her staff, very Covid responsible. My younger son and my wife have both seen Dr. Kim and we all agree that she and her office is incredible and will continue seeing her.

The very knowledgeable and friendly staff made my visit an enjoyable experience, especially for a first-time patient. I will be bringing my entire family here from now on. The office space was new and immaculate. Overall excellent!
