Get a second opinion. I was told I had 6 cavities, I have had healthy teeth so this was a shock. Visited Another dentist and was told there was only one. He did work on my husband's teeth and they never healed now he has to get a root canal. I can't help but wonder if his tooth was heathy before we found out this dentist is fraudulent.

Started out great staff ,receptionist very friendly, took to many x-rays for a consultation for implants all I needed was crowns for implants . Wanted to charge more money to me for equipment he did not have. LOL he is a joke won't recommend this dentist to anyone bad additive for a dentist when people are already uneasy to go to one. I am in the medical field and he is a narcissistic doctor its his way or I he can't do it. I should have figured something was wrong when asked if I have ever sued a dentist before.

My wife went to Pagosa Dental for a consultation to have a single tooth implant. The estimate for a single tooth implant was $12,000! (yes, that is 12 thousand) They said they would check with our insurance to see how much we would have to pay out of pocket and they would call us back, that was over a week ago, and still no call. Also, the appointment was scheduled for 2 pm, we waited 45 minutes in the waiting room before she was seen. Then, she sat in the chair for another hour and fifteen minutes for x-rays and consultation about pricing and scheduling. 2 hours of wasted time. We'll take our business elsewhere.

Had a great experience here. I have never been one for the dentist cause my teeth need a lot of work. I went here and had 7 teeth pulled in one day and didn't feel a thing during or after. The doctor has also called me to check on me himself multiple times. I would defiantly recommend going to them if you need any dental help.

When you move to a new town, one of the first things you do is identify good resources like you had in your old town: dentist, doctor, hair stylist, vet, etc. That’s what I did. I talked with a few friends for recommendations and looked things up on the web. My friends suggested I check out Dr. William Thornell of Pagosa Dental Care. I was able to get in quickly because I had a troublesome tooth that needed to be checked out. Dr Thornell was friendly, open and patient with me. He took several xrays and showed me the results. He spent awhile explaining what was going on. I needed an extraction and was able to get an appt early the next morning. Amazing. I worked with Sherry, who carefully explained costs, and Kendry who helped schedule an appt for the next day.
You can immediately tell that everyone in the entire office loves what they do and is dedicated to focusing on each patient’s needs. I was pretty shook up post-procedure, and they took extra care of me. They brought me a smoothie from the coffee shop downstairs, and Connie (she assisted Dr Thornell in the procedure and provided lots of support) helped me get to my car because it was snowing. Later that day I received calls from Dr. Thornell as well as from Linda in the front office checking to see how I was doing and asking if I needed anything from the local market.
Not only do I have an excellent dentist, I have an entire TEAM dedicated to my well-being. Much more than I bargained for. This is one resource I don’t have to search for.

I would recommend Dr Thornell and his staff to anyone who is dentally challenged. His obsession with continued education and true caring for his patient made this a no-brainer when deciding where to go. I had all of my teeth removed and replaced with permanent top and bottom all-on-four/six implants. I chose the teeth in a day method. Honestly I was shocked when a little over a year ago I went into my regular dentist for a cleaning and found out that my bones were no longer supporting my teeth. I did receive a couple of concurring diagnosis. My husband and I love to cook and taste flavors and the thought of covering up my taste buds with a denture just wasn't going to cut it. (I even had a denture made prior to deciding to go with all-on-four procedure). I spent the year reading and trying to decide.
Now I am a week post dental implant surgery. I am back at work with a new smile and good teeth for life!. Dr Thornell and his staff took excellent care of myself, and my husband who stayed in town with me during the procedure. (They actually put us up in a hotel as we live in the next town). This is a large decision and huge procedure, involving my husband every step of the way towards my well-being added another gold star to the big event. Everyone was there for me mentally and physically. I always felt I was in the best of hands, and knew that everyone truly cared about how I was doing. Regardless of time of day, Dr Thonell was available and checking on my well-being.
Bottom line, whether you need one implant or all implants, we are very lucky to have Dr Thornell in our rural area. i have total confidence in referring anyone with dental needs to his office.
I LOVE MY NEW TEETH!

Dr. Thornell has been taking care of my entire family for 5 years now, everything from cleanings to Invisiline braces to an implant. He provides high quality precision work. I recently had an implant put in and the procedure was pain free, thanks to his high standards. The office staff is friendly and treats me like family, it's a very comfortable environment.

ZERO STARS & EXPENSIVE!! I was visiting Pagosa to ski when my crown fell off. I called to see if I could get an appointment to get my crown re-affixed. I spoke to the dental hygienist who informed me that she would do the work for $150 which included an x-ray which I didn't want! Non-negotiable. In addition, they would not take my Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO insurance and that I would be required to pay the full amount in cash. I would then be responsible for requesting reimbursement from my insurance company. No, thank you. In Texas (home) I am out of network with my dentist, but he bills the insurance and then bills me for the balance. This place is 'bass-akwards' and was of NO help in the billing process. I found some temporary dental cement at Walmart for $3.
