Today was my first visit to Dr. Herman. I saw his partner Dr. Rubin and was MORE than satisfied with the service and care of the whole office: Louisa, Maria, doctors, and the others that were good to me today. Dr. Rubin is a pain-free oral surgeon. He says that he 'doesn't believe in pain', so that was good for me! I highly recommend this office, they were a pleasure to work with and more than professional from beginning to end.

What an amazing DENTIST!!! My front tooth chipped and I needed a crown asap!!!!! I panicked but Maria was able to get me in right away! I met her and Dr. Herman and I was so pleased! My crown is beautiful and I am able to SMILE AGAIN!!!! Dr. Herman was so understanding and caring! He was so thorough and knowledgeable. He explained dental terminology in a way that I was able to fully comprehend as I am not very familiar with the dental world. His smile is so charismatic! After several years of sub-par treatment from my former Dentist in DC upon moving to Miami Beach I had an even worse experience with a Dentist here. Upon a friend's referral I am so HAPPY I made the drive up to Boca for what has become my new favorite Dentist and Dental Office. My mouth issues are on the way to an excellent future! Wasted my TIME but DID NOT let him waste my MONEY or ruin my teeth!
Dr. Herman is a very greedy man that only looks out for the benefit of his own wallet and not the wellbeing of his patients.
What brought me to see this doctor? I needed to get a simple cleaning done that I get every 6 months and because my insurance is affiliated with this office, they do digital x-rays, and it's close to my house - this is how I ended up at this office.
I made a cleaning appointment weeks in advance. Once I arrived at Dr. Herman's office to get my teeth cleaned, the office lady tells me that I will NOT get my cleaning done today. She tells me that the doctor has to see me first and then I have to make another appointment for the cleaning. I should have used this as a sign and walked right out but as patient as I am, I went along with it. At the end of my 1st visit, I received a form stating that my cleaning will be $170 (out of my own pocket, even though I have insurance), $1450 for crown work that Dr. Herman recommended, plus he pointed out "3 cavities" in my mouth that I should get filled/fixed. A couple of weeks later I got my cleaning done (the type that was covered by my insurance) and I WILL NEVER go back! After that, I went for a second opinion to a different dentist who told me that my teeth were GREAT and that I should not mess with my teeth to get any crown work done and those "cavities" were only naturally-occurring stains! In other words, nothing to worry about. I am so glad to have gone for a second opinion to someone with morals who actually cares.
About Hygienist:
Works under Dr. Herman therefore, she has to follow his orders to convince you that you need all of the "extra" procedures done along with a special type of cleaning.
Otherwise, does NOT do a thorough job, skips around - very strange order of cleaning that I have never experienced before. While cleaning your teeth, she keeps emphasizing that this type of cleaning is "very superficial" and that I should pay the extra money in order for her to clean below the gum line. In addition, at the end of the cleaning, they charged not only my insurance but also $10 out of my credit card. There was an additional $15 that they wanted to charge me for a rinse to gargle my mouth with but fortunately they didn't argue with me once I told them that I did not need a $15 rinse.
About Front Desk Staff:
Kind of dull (lifeless) and uneducated (or perhaps just do not pay attention to detail). When I requested my x-rays to be emailed, it took 2 weeks and several phone calls before I received them. Once I received the email... the file that contained my x-rays had a complete misspelling of my name. I had to study the x-rays for some time to make sure that they belonged to me.
