I have been treated by fourteen different dentists in five different cities where I have lived for more than sixty years which includes five dentists in Florida. My experience with previous dentists could be characterized as bearable which included pain, swelling, days of recovery, misdiagnosis, unrealistic recommendations, and incompetence. These experiences by others may be the reason that they ask for one of three levels of sedation and/or general anesthesia in the extreme.

My previous dentist attempted to install the metal post for a dental implant in the bone of my jaw which was too narrow to be successful. He did indicate that there was a cavity in tooth #15 but decided to do nothing about it. Instead, he recommended that six lower teeth be crowned at a cost of $8,000. It was time for me to seek a second opinion.

I made an appointment to see Dr. Michael Caputo of Radiant Dentistry. My goal was to make a fair assessment of Radiant Dentistry’s ability to provide quality dental care. I was impressed by the premises and, once inside, the upscale interior. I was greeted by friendly staff who signed me in to see Dr. Michael Caputo. He suggested a dental cleaning at the outset to be followed by a dental exam. I agreed. The cleaning by Jeff was outstanding.

Three of the X-Ray images provided by my previous dentist were not good enough for a proper diagnosis. A technician arrived with a hand-held X-Ray machine which was small (somewhat larger than a 35mm camera) producing low enough power output to preclude the use of Lead shielding. Three cavities were found, two small ones along the gumline of my lower jaw, and a large one on tooth #15. Dr. Michael Caputo stated that it could not be saved. I looked at the X-Ray image and I could not see the cavity. Dr. Michael Caputo repaired the small cavities first, followed by the extraction of tooth #15. I experienced no pain nor discomfort during the procedures nor swelling afterwards. I have never been sedated at any level for dental work.

I took the extracted tooth home to measure the size of the cavity. The diameter measured 3/16” and the depth was 1/8” which was about halfway through the tooth. Dr. Michael Caputo’s assessment of tooth #15 from an X-Ray alone blew my mind!

The lidocaine had worn off completely after five hours. The remaining pain or discomfort at that time was way below my threshold. When I awoke the following morning, it felt as though I did not have any dental work done on the previous day.

I also had a conversation with Dr. Michael Caputo concerning my options with a partial denture since dental implants were not an option. He showed me two samples and I followed up at home with research on the one I favored. I have an appointment with him in two weeks to get more answers to further questions, which arose as a result of my research, before I make my decision.

I have no dental insurance. However, Radiant Dentistry offered me three levels of membership which provide annual discounts for preventative dentistry. I purchased the Perio Membership which includes 4/year Professional Dental Cleanings, 2/year Doctor Exams, Unlimited X-Rays as required, 2/year Emergency Exam, and 4/year Floride Treatment. A 10% discount was offered for additional family members of equal or lesser value. The cost of my last appointment with my previous dentist was close to the cost of Radiant Dentistry’s annual membership.

Dr. Michael Caputo has seven years of experience and worked under Dr. Paul Miller before he retired one year ago and is now in charge of Radiant Dentistry located at 6838 Madison Street, New Port Richey, Florida 34652.

I firmly believe in doing research before finding the right Dentist, as compassion should be one of the best attributes to a good Dentist! I'm glad I did because all the reviews were spot-on and this Dentist exceeded my expectations! Dr. Caputo has a technique when administering Novacaine, that is WAY less painful and traumatic than any of the previous Doctors I've dealt with. Im really surprised NO ONE has that technique! You'll just have to experience this best kept secret for yourself!! They stayed late almost 2 hours for extracting one tooth, you tell me one Dentist that would do that for a new patient. And he was kind enough to go around after each attempt to make sure I was comfortable!! Stop wasting your time money and pain tolerance on Dentists that don't have nearly the experience or compassion that Dr. Caputo has! Barbie, Debbie and Tatum are second to none and have my vote for the best office staff!

Had my second cleaning done today with Kasha. She is the best dental assistant ever. She is thorough and explains everything clearly.

Had an appointment to have my teeth cleaned today. The dental hygienist Shannon was excellent, and was very appeasing when I requested to have teeth cleaned with cleaning instrument rather than the water tool. The experience was pleasant which is suprising for me to say about a visit to dentist. Dr. Caputo is very personable and makes one feel comfortable. Would highly recommend this establishment.

My friend used to use Dr. Miller, but he is gone now, so she went to DR CAPUTO with her husband. Dr. Caputo took out every tooth on the bottom of his mouth, and now he is going to another dentist who tells him that root parts were left in as well as bone fragments. I am so glad she told me about him. She immediately changed dentists. His charges were automatic through your credit card which you leave on file with him, and outrageous as well.

Kasha and the entire staff have been amazing and thorough every appointment. I couldn’t ask for more.
