Austell Dental Excellence

I found this dentistry on google and I knew that I needed some work done. Staff was friendly and never made me feel uncomfortable. Called to the back fairly quickly……… However, I had been in excruciating pain for 2 days and was advised that I needed an extraction. I was told that I needed to schedule and pay for my extraction. I asked about ANTIBIOTICS for the infection and was told that he would not prescribe them to me until I scheduled my extraction. Therefore, I would have to deal with the pain until I could afford to schedule my extraction.

I had an excellent visit with this office. All staff members were kind and very courteous. I was a little scared of going to the dentist but they made it seem like a cake walk. The doctor was phenomenal. He explained everything and I left feeling extremely satisfied with my choice for a dentist.

Dr Hopper and his staff are great. Each person there is always so friendly and welcoming. I have been going there for many years and I would highly recommend Dr Hopper for your dental work. He always explains what he will be doing and is as gentle as possible. Carmen does a great job cleaning my teeth. She is always making sure you are comfortable and has great tips on how to keep your teeth clean and healthy between visits. Jonathan helps answers any questions I have about treatments and costs and is always a pleasure to work with, A++..

The staff at Austell Dental Excellence is amazing. From the front desk to the dentist. Everyone was friendly and kind. Aariana was a HUGE help is calming and reassuring my 4 year old on her 1st dental visit. Did I mention they have Saturday and evening appointments. I wish I had found this office much sooner. I will certainly call this office my new dental home.

I went to Austell Dental Excellence on December 8th, 2021 for a consultation for fast braces. I was told that my braces would be $3999 + $1000 (an up-charge for clear brackets). I was also told that I had a cavity on tooth 14. During my consultation, Dr. Hopper was being extremely condescending to the dental assistant, which made me incredibly uncomfortable to watch. He then disappeared from the consultation and never came back, so all of my questions were referred to a dental assistant.

I went ahead and scheduled my appointment to have my braces put on for the following Thursday, December 16th, 2021. In order to make my appointment the dental assistant told me I would have to pay in full for the treatment. I told her that I did not have enough cash on me to pay the total, but that I could put more than half down on a card. I paid $2737 on my credit card, and when I came in on the 16th, I paid an additional $763 in cash. My insurance covered $1500, so that was my remaining balance. During my appointment, the dental assistant had to take photos and X-rays of my mouth. There was a metal piece that she was using to hold my mouth open as she took photos. She had gloves on, but she handed me the metal piece to place in my mouth as she took the photos. This made me uncomfortable due to the fact that I was not wearing gloves, nor had I recently washed my hands, and I said to her, "this doesn't seem very sanitary," and she laughed and waited for me to place the metal piece in my mouth. As the dental assistant was putting the braces on my teeth, one of the brackets fell off as she was trying to put the wire on.
That evening, one of the brackets came loose, so I called the office the next morning, Friday December 17th, 2021, to let them know and the office assistant, Jaslene I believe, told me that I could come in sometime next week to have them remove the bracket, but that I would have to wait three weeks for someone to actually put the bracket on. I asked to speak with the Doctor himself because I felt that was ridiculous, especially considering the fact that the dental assistant told me that if a bracket ever came off, it would delay my treatment plan. So she had the dental assistant call me back and she assured me that I would be able to have the bracket put on the same time as the removal. Not even ten minutes after hanging up the phone, the entire wire and ALL four brackets popped off of my teeth, MID-CONVERSATION! This was painful and equally as embarrassing! I could not believe that I sat an hour the day before, allowed my teeth to painfully shift, and paid so much money to this company only to have my braces literally fall off the next day. Because of this, as well as my discomfort in the facility, the unsanitary practices, as well as the staff clearly not being on the same page, I emailed the office requesting a full refund. I called the office for several days and kept being told I would get a call back, with no luck.

After almost a week, The doctor said that he would be refunding me only $2024. He stated that I needed to pay for the clear brackets, and the deposit that was needed to book the appointment. I am completely blown away with how negligent this practice could be, and how down right rude they could be to their patients. no patient should have to put their possibly dirty hands in their own mouth during a service, and they definitely should not be forced to continue treatment after multiple instances of negligence!

I also got a second opinion on the "cavity" Dr. Hopper said I had, and the new dentist told me this would be unnecessary, as there was no real cavity present.

Such a wonderful place where the staff is very friendly. They take care of you when you walk right in and know you by name. Dr Hopper is wonderful, he makes the process much easier for our children. They love the “fast” process compared to the traditional way. Dr Hopper and staff will defiantly be recommended!!

My first experience with Dr Hopper was great. He and his staff were very nice. I was seen as a new patient for a retainer replacement. No hassle, no problems and Great price! I think I may have found myself a new dentist 😊

Before my son started seeing Dr. hopper he did not like to smile at all. Now you can’t keep him from showing his teeth. They have a great environment in the office and everyone is so nice. I love bringing my so. To his appointments, it is always very pleasant!

Don't let the outside fool you. The actual office itself is very nice. The hygienist, Mariotte, was everything. He didn't make me feel bad or emabarrassed that I haven't been to the dentist since pre-Covid. He was very patient and gentle. It was my first visit. Will update when additional visits have been made.

Staff was wonderful , Setting appointment was fast and easy! Did a wonderful job on my teeth cleaning. Got me in and out of the office in no time! Will definitely recommend!
