Old Orchard Beach Family Dentistry

My first appointment for exam and cleaning was a nightmare. I only recommend this Dr for extractions. My scaling appointment although I called and let the staff and Dr know of my agoraphobia and panic disorder theydr was over 45 minutes late and I had to leave. Avoid at all costs.

To say this dentist is underqualified and lacks total "bedside manner" is an understatement. Aside from the horrendous service she provided my family, the lack of knowledge or care about the issues was very known. I wouldn't send ANYONE to this dentist. The only reason it's getting two stars is for the support staff and having to deal with this woman on a daily basis. You could tell how embarrassed and uncomfortable they were to be employed by her- sad.

I'm not the usual kind of person to leave a one star review.

However, my wife went here originally to get a tooth pulled. Just a couple of weeks later when she was showing signs of infection where they extracted it, they refused to have her come in to get it looked at. Just to get some antibiotics. It would of been a very quick consult to help manage a straightforward problem.
They suggested scheduling an appointment a week and 2 days later. She was already in pain.

I understand needing to schedule, but no call back to see how she was doing, no follow up when a problem did arise, and did not seem to care when letting them know we were stuck in a bind, AND she was a patient of hers.

We have insurance, we had paid the difference promptly (which they misquoted by the way it was double what they said).
A simple bit of patient/customer loyalty would of went miles.

We have called other dentists in the area, and have found one that actually cares.
I only wish I saw all of the 1 star reviews here originally.

I literally love Dr. Narowetz and her staff! I started coming here a few years ago because I had a very painful emergency and they took me in right away without even being a patient there. I have been going here ever since despite living over an hour away. The office is always clean and cozy and the staff is so sweet and pleasant. I used to be afraid of going to the dentist but I don’t feel any anxiety or fear of judgment here. I would 100% recommend them to anyone!

Staff was friendly and doctor knew how to get a tough job done. I wasn’t scheduled far out, and was seen and tended to very quickly.

As someone else mentioned they quote insurance coverage before procedures, and my quote was actually a bit higher than what I ended up paying.

These fine folks also have an office in Westbrook.

I just walked out of this office and I will never return. I was told by the receptionist that my insurance covers 4 visits a year. I called my insurance company to confirm this and it is correct. So I schedule visits every 4 months, which my insurance will allow. The last 3 times I have gone to get a cleaning, I am told that I am responsible for the visit out of pocket. I have to wait in the chair for 20 minutes while they call my insurance company to verify the visit will be covered ( the visit they recommended I schedule BTW). Isn't this something that should be confirmed BEFORE I am sitting in the chair ready to have a cleaning in the middle of my work day?

Also, I went with my boyfriend to get a "whitening". $500 for the both of us and neither of us felt that our teeth were any whiter at all. I expressed my concerns to the tech and she gave us sample tubes of whitening toothpaste. Ummm, thanks? This place is unprofessional, disorganized and the only thing that seems to go right is the 5 reminders they send to you for your appointment.

There are so many other dentists in the area, don't waste your time!

NEVER GO HERE. Please re-consider any work you were considering getting done here, or are in the process of having. Go anywhere else. This “doctor” has not a clue what she is doing and it is very evident. I can’t warn you guys enough there is NO REASON to go here. I will NEVER allow anyone in my life to go here ever again after what I had to witness bringing my in laws to a dental appointment. Besides the irritating aspect of leaving patients in rooms for up to hours without a word- this woman has no remorse jamming a needle into your mouth without any type of care or concern for the patient. Even the hygienist who was present looked horrified. I understand it needs to happen but I’ve never seen someone so rough and inconsiderate. There’s a standard of care doctors should possess and perform and she is more of a butcher.

By far the worst dentist iv ever been to. I have an appointment with another dentist today to get the work looked at that I had done by them because I'm very unhappy with it. Also I went in to fill out paperwork to have my x-rays sent, 3 days later it's still not sent to myou email when I was told it would take 3 days, no I call and I'm told it will take up to 21 days to have it sent to me

I went there today, I was so scared from my last experience somewhere else. I highly recommend it here. Staff and Dentist where so awesome, I needed 3 teeth removed and they did a wonderful job.

Dental staff was rude. Refused to pull a broken tooth because of my limited insurance. Had to go to Er to get antibiotics.
