Nick McHargue Dentistry

I have had dental issues, what it seems like my entire life. Yet, I have never met a more helpful, kind, and compassionate dentist / staff. Their kindness is actually genuine and makes me feel so so comfortable. Dr. McHargue is witty and understanding. He ensures you feel okay through the entire process, whatever that may be, and explains everything so well. He also just does great work on my teeth. Dr. McHargue gives you the attention you deserve and definitely makes you feel like a person rather than a patient. He also remembers you and things about you! Crazy right???

Alicia is also a god send and is so honest, hard working, and kind. Shes the best dental assistant I've ever had (dont tell my mom, she was one too.)

They were definitely meant to do this for a career. Finding this dental office was a huge blessing & I will not go anywhere else unless I relocate.

Dr McHargue and his staff are a God sent. They always get me in for an appointment quickly and make sure I'm taken care of and comfortable. I can tell it's more than just a job to them and they really want to help people in need. By far the best dentist I've experienced. Dr Nick and his staff are personable, friendly, and very professional. I'd give them more stars if I could!

Dr. McHargue is great. I hadn’t been to the dentist in 20 years because of a bad experience before. When I went in his entire office put my fears at ease. I had fillings and extractions done. The recovery for my extracts was a breeze and I was back to work the next day. I highly recommend Dr. McHargue and his entire team!

It's always hard to find a dentist that you like the whole family to go to that does well with children also and I must say for a smaller location the staff is extremely friendly ,Pleasant ,and empathetic and does what they can for you. They are extremely good with children of all ages also,my daughter at the time of our first visit was 11 and wanted to go with me where I went and not to just a children's dentistry, and I must say they did very well with explaining in detail what they were doing step by step so she knew and understood. We have been extremely pleased with our entire experience every time we have gone. They are great with trying to fit you in with your schedule and when life gets crazy and you forget about your appointments they will be very so pleasantly calling you to help remind you if you need it, so it's a great place for everybody and they take generally most insurance, which was difficult for me to find a place that took our coverage so this is nice you definitely need to try this place out to anybody and everybody....

Beware - You will be treated as a paycheck, not a patient. Similar to other Google reviewer, we recently had an issue with billing and rude office staff at Dr. Nick McHargue’s office. Dr. Nick overall is a decent dentist - not the worst, not the best. At the end of the day, this office does the bare minimum and it is up to you to find out what your insurance will cover before your visit, as they will not take any responsibility for providing you with accurate information.

My wife and I had been going to Dr. Nick for several years and recently transferred our kids to his office from their pediatric dentist. I brought them in for their first appointment, and was told their x-rays would not be fully covered by our insurance. I didn’t check with their previous dentist or our insurance company before this appointment (falsely assumed Dr. Nick’s office would help with this), and could not remember when the last time they had x-rays taken. I told them to go ahead with the new patient x-rays with the understanding they had checked with our insurance company and it would cost us around $70 per kid out of pocket. At the end of the appointment, I was surprised to find I owed over $300 out of pocket for the x-rays and other procedures, but I figured this was probably more of an insurance company issue, and kicked myself for not contacting their previous dentist to have their records sent over.
About a week later, we received a bill saying we owed Dr. Nick another $200. I called the office and was told our insurance company didn’t cover everything from our last visit, even though I was of the understanding the office staff had given me accurate information on my out-of-pocket x-ray expenses. I expressed my frustration with being essentially charged over $500 for 3 teeth cleanings because the office did not take the time to discuss their treatment plan or provide accurate insurance coverage information BEFORE the visit. The staff member explained it was my responsibility to contact our former dentist to obtain their records, and I was also responsible for contacting my insurance company to confirm our coverage. Would have been good to know it was up to me to get this information when we booked the appointments 6 months ago. I ended up sending them the money for the additional $200 they said I owed, and included a note with the payment asking them to cancel all of our future appointments.
What happened next is why I am writing this review. The office manager called me at 7 p.m. the next week but did not call to apologize, reduce the charges, or try to keep our business. Instead, she literally called to argue and shift the blame for the breakdown to me. She reiterated they had no responsibility to obtain previous dental records or verify insurance coverage before a visit, and this was my responsibility. When I repeated my dissatisfaction with having to pay over $500 for a teeth cleaning and my frustrating that we did not over review any treatment plans before the visit, she told me she reviewed our files the night before our appointment and assured me they were one of the most affordable dental offices in town. No apologies, no adjustments, no regrets.

I Can't stop smiling. I am so grateful that a good friend referred me to Dr. Nick Hargue. The staff is the friendliest , caring and most efficient that I have ever had the pleasure to experience.. I felt at ease and very well cared for. The professionalism is top notch from the front desk to the dental assistants to the doctor. The office is nice and clean. Appointments are kept on time with no waiting. Dr. Nick Hargue is so talented and every treatment has been pain-free. The staff are Exceptional! I received nothing but kindness and experienced care. Wonderful 5 Star.

We LOVE going to see Dr. McHargue and his friendly staff! We bring our entire family to see him and recommend him to our friends and family. Dr. McHargue and his hygienist, Melissa, are incredibly kind and thorough. It's very important to trust your dentist, and I trust him and his staff wholeheartedly!

Dr Nick and ALL of his staff are the beyond word's the best EVER. Let's just say if i lived in Seattle Washington and Nick McHargue dentist office was in Tampa Florida, I would travel that far JUST to have Nick and his staff do my dental work! I admired how Nick and his staff makes me feel comfortable and like i am family. I love how I am on a first name basis, even after six month's me not being in the office. I am remembered after all that time. It makes me sad too see negative reviews by outher people. I know we are all human and have our own opinion on things. We'll folks. I'm telling you my opinion! If your looking for a Dentist who will change the look and health of your teeth. Don't waste any more time. Call Nick McHargue office now. I am letting anyone I meet know about the best dentist office anyone can find!

If anyone needs a GOOD dentist I recommend Dr. Nick McHargue. He NEVER ONCE made me feel ashamed for my neglect and he and his staff have been so helpful for me as opposed to the first dentist I'd started seeing as an adult (who I won't name publicly) who was all 'shoulda, coulda, woulda' and wanted to stretch out my treatment over several months BEFORE he would let me get any extractions for teeth that were causing me alot of discomfort which was an attempt I believe to get more money from my insurance (when I had it).

I'm not a fan of dentists, but I am a fan of Dr. Nick. His staff is always tip top, and he's friendly. I've had fillings replaced, crowns reset, and multiple cleanings. He's also honest and doesn't try to talk you into procedures that you do not need.
