Wolken Family Dental

Dr Chris has been our dentist since our kids were little. He earned their trust immediately and is always attentive and caring. I feel that we get great care and they use the most up-to-date technologies. Highly recommend him and this practice!

It had been awhile since I’ve been to Wolken Dental, due to COVID. Jen did a great job on my teeth cleaning and Dr. Chris was very engaging and made the necessary recommendation for a follow up filling, which I will be going back for in a couple of weeks. All in all, a very professional experience, as usual. That’s why we keep coming back!

I just had my first appointment there today, and was very impressed. Dr. Andy and his assistant Diana were great - very friendly, kind, and professional. They both made going to the dentist an enjoyable experience - and were very knowledgeable about the causes (and solutions) for my tooth pain as well. Would definitely recommend!

These people are fake dentist. I had a horrible experience with them. They broke my tooth after charging me so much. He messed up my bite. To this date, I can't have a normal bite because of what he did. Made my crown fit terribly bad, and then suggested to send me somewhere else. They are terrible. As a physician, I felt I got a terrible care.

As an adult who was traumatized by a childhood dentist and had been avoiding dentists for decades, it was not easy for me to make the call to Wolken Dental. But I was in desperate need of dental care and I was impressed by their overwhelmingly positive reviews online. So I called. Almost a year and a dozen visits later, I couldn’t be happier with my decision! Wolken Dental is the home base of my dental care. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. And here’s why.

During my first two visits, I was so nervous that my body was shaking. Dr. Andy’s assistant Diana greeted me with comforting words, and Julie gave me a blanket to keep me warm. When Dr. Andy started talking, it was apparent that (1) the receptionist (Shannon) had taken down detailed notes from my initial call (I was a babbling mess, mind you), and (2) Dr. Andy reviewed the notes carefully. I immediately felt like my voice was being heard and my needs would be taken seriously. The above was proven true again and again in my subsequent visits. Dr. Andy, his assistant Diana and Julie, are all very sensitive to my fear of pain. They made me feel that my fear of pain is an absolutely normal thing - which was not the case with my childhood dentist. As a result, all of my treatment experiences have been comfortable, pleasant, and painless. Dr. Andy drafted up a complex treatment plan given my situation, and we are working towards completing it. For some procedures that are not done at Wolken Dental, Dr. Andy gave me excellent referrals. I am extremely impressed with my oral surgeon Dr. Monterubio and my endodontist, Dr. Katie Wolken who is married to Dr. Andy, but works at a different practice. Highly recommend them all. When it came time to do a deep cleaning, my dental hygienist Becca was unbelievably thorough, gentle, caring, and good at what she does. I could tell that beyond the cleaning she was scheduled to do, Becca also took an interest in other parts of my treatment plan. It made me feel like the entire medical team’s aims are aligned: to get my teeth and gum healthy again.

But having first class dental care is only half the story. The other half is written by their amazing front/back office staff. I already mentioned how Shannon took such detailed notes during my initial call that the doctor and assistants all knew my back story when I walked in. No beat was skipped. When I needed oral surgery and I was overwhelmed by the situation (which surgeon took what insurance, should I get the earliest appointment or wait until I can do some research, etc.), Barb saved my day. She called the oral surgeon’s office multiple times until she was able to get me the information I needed. She was immensely patient, compassionate, and persistent. The same can be said for Cherie (or Sherry, sorry for misspelling), who patiently helped me with my appointment scheduling with another office. She not only helped me on the phone right then and there, but also made calls and emails behind the scenes to make sure my files were sent to other offices prior to my visit. Amy was also very helpful on several occasions. The entire staff is so pleasant to work with. They always made me feel welcome and well cared for, as if it’s impossible to bother them.

When I said Wolken Dental is the home base for my dental care, that’s what I meant. This is my first go-to, my one-stop-shop. Even when I am going through treatment with another specialist in another office, Wolken Dental is my home base that still coordinates to take care of my needs. This is a very well-run office. Kudos to Drs. Andy and Chris for keeping this family legacy running so successfully. I went from avoiding dentists for decades, to bringing my preschooler in for his first dental appointment because I was so confident he would like being a patient here. He did. I wholeheartedly recommend this practice to you all.

Wolken Family Dental is simply the best Dentist that I have ever been to. All the staff are warm and welcoming. Dr. Chris is amazing! You can tell how much they care. Even during these crazy times with COVID, their care for their patients hasn't wavered. They have instead adapted and found new ways of sharing their care with their patients. As long as I live in St. Louis, they will be my dentist.

Wolken Dental is fantastic. Dr.Andy has been my dentist for years. I have serious dental issues and he has went above and beyond to make sure they get taken care of. Their facilities are state of the art and its pretty amazing to see some of the equipment they have. From cleanings to serious issues like mine they take care of it all in the best way possible. I will never go to another dentist! Thank you for always making me feel comfortable and genuinely caring about me.

Words can hardly express the care and hospitality you receive at Wolken Family Dental !!! They really make you feel like you and your family are special. We have a family of 8 !!! They are always very accommodating for my family size in assuring we can get everyone in at one trip, which is awesome !!! Everyone is always so pleasant and kind. Dr. Chris is amazing !!! His care and concern for his patients is so genuine and heartfelt. The entire staff is also great !!! Very sweet ladies that always make you feel welcomed and comfortable to be there. At one point our insurance was no longer accepted there, however, we loved our experiences at Wolken so much, we changed insurance company's just to be patients again !!! Wolken Family Dental is the ONLY dental office for me and my family !!! Always such an enjoyable experience !!!

So glad we found Wolken Family Dental when we moved to STL. Everyone there is fabulous!

I have been seeing the Wolken's for at least 12 years now. Andy happens to be my dentist and he is great. His staff is also the best. Kind and caring crew.
