Dr. Russell Ash Family Dentistry

I came in to see Dr. Ash with a toothache. They were quick to get me on the schedule. Once you arrive, you are greeted and immediately felt at ease. I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room. When seated in the back, I met with Dr. Ash. He was friendly and very informative. We came up with a plan together on how to approach my issue. I left feeling happy and at ease with my experience .

I had an emergency, had no dentist in ABQ, and was offered a same day appointment with Dr Ash. I was treated kindly and with respect. Dr Ash put me at my ease with a relaxed, informative and professional approach. He did not suggest extensive treatment, instead providing a fast and economic solution, which immediately took away my pain and cured the problem. I am now a patient here.

Dr. Ash is a fantastic dentist running a great operation. I first contacted his office due to several chipped teeth, needing a few extractions, needing crowns, and fillings due to a preexisting condition. I articulated how sensitive my mouth is to his staff and they handled it as well as I could have hoped. They evaluated the state of my mouth, created a plan to address the issues right then and there (including different options that were available as well as the financial cost of each option), and he was able to plainly and simply explain to me what was happening, what had caused it, and prevention measures in the future (such as Clinpro toothpaste).

Throughout the experience Dr. Ash and his staff did everything possible to ensure the comfort of the patient, utilizing several numbing techniques (as well as having the option of using laughing gas at any time for a fixed fee of $75 per use, if memory serves me correctly), and offering ibuprofen if pain is anticipated once the numbing wears off. He also personally went out of his way to ensure that all of the work was done in the most cost efficient manner. Dr. Ash refuses to up-charge and will instead offer discounts depending on the work set to be done. He also has a dental payment plan that is available should you need to pay incrementally.

Additionally, he gave me his personal number to contact him in the event that the healing process gave me something unexpected, and he has responded and gone out of his way on the weekend (!!!) to give me his professional advice on varying topics related to my procedures, what to expect, and if what i'm experiencing is 'normal'. He is also willing to prescribe pain medication for the severe pain/procedures (like extractions) where ibuprofen or similar pain killers just aren't enough.

His staff is fantastic, warm, and friendly - starting with Jerry who greets me with a smile (or used to, before COVID, now I just assume he's smiling under his mask) upon my arrival. His dental hygienists are friendly and I have had a number of good conversations on a variety of topics that had nothing to do with dentistry.

The equipment doesn't appear to be 'state of the art', but he is able to do everything efficiently nonetheless. My only complaint is that Dr. Ash, who is himself a musician, has such a robust playlist of music (from his library, not spotify or radio) that I will routinely hear songs that i've never heard before, instantly like, and want to purchase myself, only to forget it a few songs later when the process inevitably repeats itself. I still have not heard the same song more than once and I'd say i've spent roughly 15 hours in his chair over the past calendar year.

All in all, Dr. Ash will be my dentist for as long as I'm within a 100 mile radius of his office. Cannot say enough good things about this practice.

After consulting with three potential dentists for full upper dentures and partial lower ones, I decided on Dr. Ash. I am very glad I did, and feel that he is by far the best dentist I have encountered during my 11 years living in Albuquerque.. Dr. Ash is sincere and sensitive to the patient, plus he is a darn good dentist. He is genuine, and a kind man.. When he was fitting my upper plate, he did it himself. Dr. Russel is by far one of the best dentists I have ever had he has that small Hometown feel and understands the individual's needs and is very opening to listen to what you want done and provides the best Solutions and options for your dental care highly recommend him and his staff for all your dental needs.

Dr Ash saw me as an emergency new patient. He came in on his day off to take care of me and was extremely gentle and kind. He was thorough to take care of my tooth and fixed it right he first time. He is wonderful.

I've been seeing Dr. Ash since my very long-time dentist retired after performing an extensive search for the right person to join and take over his practice. He found a jewel in Dr. Ash. I've had the misfortune to need him for more than the typical cleaning, etc.. I've always been impressed by his quick response to my needs and his thoroughness. His approach is to explain your problems, fix the ones which he feels need immediate attention and make you aware of the ones looming on the horizon. He definitely doesn't try to maximize your bill.

Dr Ash is a great and very caring dentist. My 9 year old daughter says: "Dr. Ash is my favorite dentist in the whole wide world. My teeth are much healthier now. When he was starting I had a bad cavity. I had to have my tooth pulled. When Dr. Ash pulled my tooth, I hardly felt any pain. He is the best dentist."

Did a wonderful job on my crown! Quick and painless. My teeth have always been sensitive, sharp pain when getting a cavity fixed. Not this time. First time in over a decade where I didn't feel anything. Awesome job!

Dr. Ash did a great job on making a specialized mouth guard for our daughter. He has been very helpful and knowledgeable. Very glad to have him as our family dentist.
