Went to Norby Dental / ABQ Dentures in August 2021 to get a new pair. Staff was professional and courteous BUT THEY DON’T LISTEN and I was VERY disappointed that Dr. Norby spent less than 10 minutes with me throughout the four months long process.
For two months at EVERY “adjustment” visit I repeatedly told the staff that the upper and lower teeth weren’t lined up and they finally did fix that. Went back almost every week for three months to get “adjusted” but the dentures continued to be uncomfortable to wear and painful to eat. Finally after three months, on 11/12/21, I told them I didn’t want the dentures and expected a full refund.
The office manager refunded the co-pay on my credit card immediately, they really didn’t have a choice, and she said they would send a refund to the insurance company. I expected that refund would be in a timely manner so I could recover my benefits and go to another dentist BEFORE the end of this benefit year.
Long story short it is now a month later (12/15/21) but the insurance company HAS NOT RECEIVED A REFUND. I spoke to the office manager at Norby Dental on 11/29/21 and she said “it took two weeks for Dr. Norby to sign the check then they mailed the check and she would do nothing more”. They got paid by the insurance company electronically in nanoseconds on 9/1/21 and have been using their money for almost FOUR months. I suspect that they delayed signing and sending the check on purpose if they actually did send the check. If they had sent the check as they stated it would have arrived in less than a month. When asked for the check number to confirm that they actually issued the check they refused to provide it to me or the insurance company.
I believe they delayed the refund to the insurance company so time would run out on me being able to use my dental insurance benefits at another dentist this year. Norby Dental has caused me to lose $1452 in dental insurance benefits that I paid premiums to the insurance company for and will not be able to use this year. Dr. Norby may or may not be a competent dentist but he and his office staff have proven inconsiderate and unprofessional by their actions.
Before you go to Norby Dental / ABQ Dentures be warned that when things don’t go right they may do NOTHING to remedy the problem and may not act like a responsible and ethical business.
UPDATE: Went to another dentist (not the el cheapo chain store). New dentures in ONE DAY that fit.

I referred a wonderful young lady (11 years old) to Dr Norby because she was missing multiple teeth and was becoming self conscious about her smile. Excellent staff from the time you walk in the front door. Professional atmosphere, warm, kind, very relationship-oriented. Dr. Norby was awesome! He actually spent time getting to know me, laughing with me, and making sure that he fully understood what I was there for. He made me believe that he truly cared about me and my teeth. Very rude receptionist. When I called to reschedule my consultation she said I had already rescheduled once (which I hadn’t) and asked if I just wanted to cancel my appointment and call when I actually knew when I wanted to be seen. I said she was being very rude so maybe I should cancel and she said sorry you feel that way and hung up on me. If that’s how they handle a new patient I can only imagine the nightmare of dealing with billing and follow ups appointments.

Dr. Norby and his staff are very pleasant and unpretentious. They make patients feel comfortable.
Dr. Norby is extremely thorough and respectful in his dental assessment of patients' prosthodontic dental issues. He also provides a variety of solution options to his patients.

Absolute troglodyte answering the phone. She could not get beyond all of the "ums" to convey an actual idea. If this person is a reflection of their overall staff, I'd stay away from this place as far as possible.
